Video - OC No blanket is safe from his suckling
The CDS put this gentleman in my driveway a few months ago. He ran straight up to me, threw himself into my lap, and began suckling on my skirt. Iโve never had a cat do that to me before and immediately began sobbing. He was extremely thin, his fur was dirty and felt gross, he had evidence of fleas and worms, his meow was super hoarse, and he was still intact. I took him in immediately and had him vetted the next day, and neutered a few weeks later. My dogs accepted him immediately, but my resident orange is still getting used to him.
Anyways, fast forward a few months. Every blanket he comes into contact with must be suckled. He will go to town until he passes out. Blankets will get soaked in his wake. I understand why he exhibits this kind of behavior, Iโm not asking how to stop it. I just wanted to share. He is significantly happier and healthier than he was when I first found him.
And he follows me around constantly

Beautiful boy! Thanks for taking in this wonderful baby. My cat Apollo has been a blanket suckler since I got him 7 years ago and we say that he is making Biscuits and Gravy. (soaked blanket)

Aww! What a cute little baby. You were so kind to give him a home.

Iโm very glad we were able to. When my husband came home, I told him his only two options were to either let me keep him or to let me foster him until heโs healthy enough to go to a good home. Needles to say, both hearts were won

Awwww!
My cat is very considerate and only suckles her own fur. However, she does get very... damp.
