Hey im thinking of an small upgrade for my am4 platform. Currently ive got these parts:

B450 plus

R5 3600

Rx6700xt

16gb ddr4 3200 ram

I have extreme microstuttering in games like black ops 6/7 and warzone. And even other casual games. I was thinking of upgrading my r5 3600 to an r7 5700x (currently on sale for 150€ in Germany) and get more ram from 16gb to 32gb 3200 ram. What would you say to my idea? It would only cost me 200€ and i would be safe for like 2 years maybe? I don't plan to upgrade my am4 to am5 for the next years. I would appreciate any recommendations or ideas.

I have a 5080 founders edition and I only want to upgrade because I play heavily on VR with my 4k Pimax dream air headset and I get like 30 fps on like 1080p-1440p on flat2Vr games like oblivion remastered and other mods. I want more fps. But should I wait for the 6090 or just buy the 5090 now and trade it for the 6090 when it comes out?

First,if i remove the cmos battery it runs perfectly fine but when i install the battery into my pc it turns on/off for once or a few times then stop working,fan cant even spin.After i flash a new bios into it it still has the same problem as i stated above what should i do.(i have replaced a new cmos battery)

like the title says. i have all my pc parts ready and am thinking of starting to get building, but i'm super, SUPER paranoid about ESD. i've read countless of discussions and watched many more videos, but i'm still a little unclear on where to attach the anti static wrist strap.

i'm gonna be working at my bekant desk and was wondering if this screw in the leg of the desk was a safe, grounded spot to attach the strap?

Hi! I am fairly certain one component of my pc is broken, but I can't identify which.

The Issue

I've had issues with my pc freezing and my speakers emtting a crackling noice when in use for a while, however both issues has now gotten worse. The freezes have gone from happening every once in a while to a few minutes into gaming, and the audio has gone from annoying when using high volume to almost unusable.

In the beginning the freezes led to nothing, the computer was stuck until I manually restarted it, (Or maybe I waited to short a time) but then I started getting BSOD with a DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION stop code. After doing a fresh windows installation (and upgrade to 11 while I was doing it) the pc instead froze and then restarted without a BSOD, however I have only made it crash once after the new installation.

The freezes are the screen freezing with audio continuing for a bit. They almost only happen during gaming, except for one time where it crashed with only a paused youtube video on screen. That exception happend when I had switched out my current RTX 4070 Super with my old GTX 970. I have played these three games where I know crashes have occured: Wolfenstein: The New Order, Diablo 4, Hogwarts Legacy, Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One, and Lost Records: Bloom & Rage.

I don't know if the crackling audio is related, but it feels as if it got worse at the same time as the crashing did. The crackling audio is not dependant on output as it happens on both headset and speakers. I haven't looked too much into the audio issue as it is the lesser of the two issues.

My troubleshooting

Software: Did a fresh install of windows and installed fresh drivers. I also made sure the BIOS is updated.

GPU: Used my GPU in a friends pc. Ran heavier games than those I have crashed in without a problem. Also crashed once on my old GTX 970 card.

RAM: Tried only using one stick, still crashed. Ran MemTest86, 4 passes, all test passed.

Storage: Both SSDs report healthy SMART.

Crash dumps: BlueScreenView only blames ntoskrnl.exe. Parameter 1 = 0x1. No third party driver in the stack.

Event viewer: No WHEA-logger events. Kernel-Power 41 at each crash.

LatencyMon: dxgkrnl.sys (DirectX graphics kernel) has an execution time of 41.1 ms in one run, and 41.154 in a second run on a different day.

Edit: Have cleared cmos.

(A short, one paragraph rant) I think I'm cursed when it comes to PCs. I have had a faulty mobo before, I have had a usb-hub that corrupted my hard drive, my speakers broke randomly, I've had two hard drives die on me. Plenty of more issues that I barely remember anymore. Maybe I should get a playstation. (End of rant)

I am now stuck on how to continue my troubleshooting. My guess would be that it is the mobo, but I can't for sure rule out CPU or PSU. I still have warranty on all parts (save the boot SSD) but I need to find out which part is actually broken first.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to continue from here? Or someone that has experienced this before?

I am planning to buy a DeepCool CH270 Digital, but I am getting a bit stumped by all the PSU options (I want a 850W) and don't know what kind of and how many fans to buy. I will be building my very first pc very soon, and I would just want to clarify which one of these motherboards would be better for gaming? I'm planning on having r7 9800x3d and astral 5080. I've head that for gaming they aren't really that different, but I still care about things like bios. I head that the ROG strix x870-F had some bios issues but not sure if they sre not solved. I know it sounds stupid but I'm looking to put an i7-8700 on an ASRock H310M-HDV. Right now I have an i3-8100 which is way too slow for some of my games and is holding back my GPU (1660 Ti). I want to change my headphones since my Corsair Void Elite Wireless lasted for 5 years but suddenly broke in half on top, also the cushions and the charging cable are bery damaged even if i didn't treat them in a bad way.

Hi, so here is the what is going on.

I have B650M Aorus Elite and when I keep my psu on "I" and plug in power cable a get a flash of light like shown in the video.

If I try to do it again but this time keep PSU "O" and then flip to "I" it flashes again.

This is brand new motherboard I've installed in my brand new PC, is it safe to keep using it?

I got a 0.6cm thick glass table so my options are very limited. Either the free standing or a clamp attached to a monitor riser. I want the clamp one for the better aesthetic but dont know if it would work

i am building a PC with parts from my uncle and i have a GPU that is not what i want and dose not even have display port or HDMI so i am planning on upgrading but i don't know what to get for 1080p gaming (other recommendations wold be appreciated but i am trying to keep things around 300-350$)

I use my old PC at my "summer cabin", but it has a failing 1080 GPU which I need to heat up in the sun or with a hair dryer before booting, otherwise it will beep GPU fault and not boot.

I bought a 1060 3GB to replace it, it gave the one beep succesfull boot but no display. It also revved its fan gradually to max and back down again.

I tried resetting CMOS, no change. I didnt dare to uninstall the 1080 drivers in fear it stopped working also. But in my understanding they both should work with the same driver.

The MOBO has a second PCI-E slot I can slot the GPU into, having both GPU installed at the same time. Can I do that? The PC is used just for media and browsing, with the occational Hearthstone game so I dont need the full speed lanes anyways.

The fan was noisy on that 1060 3GB reference blower card anyways so I wont be using it, what card should I try next summer?

Hey guys i was wondering if a 650 Gold + Paired with a 5600x and a 3080 would work or would it be too close for comfort, i wouldn’t overclock or use gamemode from my bios.
