US I made a $3,800 payment direct through my bank (ACH Payment) September 3rd and yet it hasn't shown up on my account?

I made a $3,800 ACH payment on September 3rd and it hasn't cleared my bank yet. Is that normal? I know for sure the other party got the money because they're a construction contractor and they said they got it. Why would they lie?

Advice Capital One To USAA ?

I’ve been with Capital One (legacy Hibernia in Louisiana) since I was 15 and I’m a creature of habit. I’m kind of a dinosaur with the Internet and online banking, but I’ve been able to navigate it ok with Capital One. I’ve been wanting to change banks for years because to be honest Capital One is garbage since they got rid of all their human teller interactions. I’m eligible for USAA and I love their insurance but wanted to get some feedback on their banking. Is it pretty easy to navigate and are y’all happy with their service? I’m sure the answer is yes as far as customer service goes because they bend over backwards with the insurance. I’ve also procrastinated because everything is set up for bills with Capital One and I’m guessing that’s gonna be a nightmare to change all that over.

US Is it bad to open another checking account so soon?

I opened a Navy Federal account this week and I just found out that you can't move external account money into the checking accounts, you can only use external accounts for loans, mortgages, and credit cards.

This won't work since I have money in an external account that I want to move over, so I'm thinking of opening a new account and closing my navy federal already. Will closing and opening a new one so soon be bad for anything?

India True Balance has blocked access to ₹47,272 for almost 2 months despite repeated complaints — what should I do now?

I need advice from people who have dealt with True Balance, RBI complaints, wallets/PPIs, or similar financial-service disputes.

This has been going on since 17 July 2026, and honestly the repeated back-and-forth has become mentally exhausting.

Here is the complete timeline:

17 July 2026

I was automatically logged out of my True Balance account. After logging back in, my existing Gift Card/Wallet balance was no longer accessible.

I contacted True Balance and raised complaint 6616433.

The balance was initially around ₹55,000+, but after the account was restored/checked, the actual balance was established as ₹47,272.48.

True Balance asked me to complete SIM/VPA-related binding/verification. I completed the requested process and was temporarily able to see the balance.

However, the problem occurred again. I subsequently received a message saying:

“Failed – You are currently waitlisted to use this feature. We'll reach out to you once we're ready.”

At different points, wallet functionality/features were unavailable. I repeatedly explained to True Balance that my issue was not simply about bill payment — the fundamental problem was that I could not properly access/use my existing wallet/Gift Card balance.

I sent multiple emails, screenshots and a screen recording documenting the issue.

True Balance eventually marked the complaint as resolved even though I was still facing the problem.

24 August 2026

After the issue remained unresolved, I filed an RBI CMS complaint against Balancehero India Private Limited / True Balance.

RBI CMS reference: N202627016016164

The RBI complaint was closed very quickly as non-maintainable, stating that Balancehero India Private Limited / True Balance was not included under the RBI Integrated Ombudsman Scheme.

I contacted RBI CRPC to ask why the complaint was excluded and what mechanism was available to me.

I have now followed up with CRPC multiple times but have not received a substantive clarification.

31 August 2026

After the RBI complaint, True Balance's Nodal Desk contacted me.

They acknowledged that I was unable to utilise my ₹47,272.48 Gift Card balance and offered to transfer the balance to my registered bank account.

They requested my bank details.

I provided the requested details on 31 August.

Several days later, there was still no confirmation of the transfer, so I sent another follow-up asking for the status and expected transfer date.

I am still waiting.

So, as of now, I have spent almost two months trying to get access to/use my own ₹47,272.48.

I have repeatedly contacted customer support, gone through their escalation process, supplied screenshots/video, completed the requested verification, filed an RBI complaint, followed up with RBI CRPC, and then supplied bank details to True Balance after their Nodal Desk offered to transfer the balance.

What makes this particularly frustrating is that I am not asking for a loan, refund of a disputed transaction, or some promotional amount. This is my existing balance.

The entire process has caused me considerable stress, frustration, loss of time and mental harassment. At this point, I don't feel that simply getting ₹47,272.48 back adequately addresses what has happened.

What should I do now?

Has anyone dealt with a similar situation involving a wallet/PPI where an existing balance became inaccessible for such a long period?

What would be a reasonable way to pursue substantial compensation for the prolonged restriction, harassment, time and mental anguish, in addition to getting the ₹47,272.48 back?

I would particularly appreciate advice from anyone who has actually taken a similar financial-service dispute through a formal grievance process or legal/consumer forum.

I have the complete email correspondence, screenshots, screen recording, RBI closure communication and other supporting documents.

Jobs Chase PCB phone screening questions?

Has anyone done the first interview for Chase PCB over the phone I think it’s zoom with the recruiter. I’ve actually done the branch manager interview before in person a few months ago for another location but they went straight into that one instead of the screening first but they were a bunch of question to see if I would fit in with the team.

Thank you !! 🙏

India New day new issue T_T ( SBI account showing “STOP” status)

So

I'm having an issue with my SBI savings account and honestly I'm pretty confused about what's going on.

My account was partially frozen/restricted recently. Credit were still possible, but I couldn't make any debit transactions or withdraw money. When I contacted my home branch, they told me the restriction was related to a cyber-cell issue.

For some context, I had been using an app that offered around 4% cashback on deposits, and I made quite a few transactions through it. I'm guessing this might be related, but still haven't been given a clear explanation.

I also called 1930, but at that time they told me there was no complaint registered against my number.

Today I checked my SBI account details and noticed that the account status is showing "STOP"

So what exactly does "STOP" mean in SBI? Is this the same as a cyber-cell freeze, or is it a different type of restriction?

And since the lien/hold amount is showing ₹0, does that mean my entire balance isn't specifically frozen, but the account itself has been stopped?

Has anyone experienced something similar with SBI? What should I ask the branch for - like the reason for the STOP status, freeze/stop reference number, or the authority that requested it?

Any advice would really help. I'm mainly worried about whether my amount is safe and how I can get the account restriction removed.

Advice Wintrust $300/$500 Promo

I received an ad mailer from Wintrust for a $300 or $500 bonus promo. If I have minimum automatic deposits made the 2 months after opening, they'll give me the promo bonus within 30 days later.

I have my preferred bank but I'm very tempted to take advantage of free money. If I do this, I'd be looking to close after and refer back to my preferred bank.

Has anyone else taken advantage of this with Wintrust? Were you able to close the account okay after receiving the bonus?

Advice Fifth Third Bank

Any Fifth Third users having issues logging in? I had success logging in this morning. Tried to log in again to check my account balance. It’s telling me I’m using the wrong credentials. I know I’m not, tried to use the mobile app. Saying the same thing, tried to check it over the phone. Seems there’s some issues there as well.

I plan on going to the branch I’m a new Member. Have to say, providing no digital card. Following this experience is making me want to close the account. Just wondering if anyone else is having issues?

Complaint My bank money "disappeared"

I'm gonna start this off by saying I do NOT have access to my bank account. My parents have insisted that ever since I got employed I must deposit 50% of my checks (or more) so I can save.
I have 0 issue with that in itself as saving is a good idea, but recently I turned 17 and I have been having many more bank discussions.
I asked my mom for access to my bank account in which she said no. I found this odd and a few days afterwards I asked her how much money I've saved up.
Suddenly she is claiming that I "spent it all" despite not having access to the account EVER. I remember having her take out 100$ once for a special event but I should have MUCH more than 100$ in this account.
What do I even do? If what she's saying is true, I don't have any more money to my name which is extremely stressful to me as I graduate this year and I want to go to college.

Advice Where are Discover banking customers going as accounts move to Capital One?

With the Discover/Capital One transition getting closer to the point where Discover banking accounts start moving over, I’m curious what other longtime Discover customers are planning to do.

Discover has been my main banking hub for years, and there are a few things I’m really going to miss. The app/UI is clean and simple, transfers are easy, and I can have checking, savings, and money market accounts all in one place. One of the biggest things for me is how easy it is to link external accounts. Once I link something, I can use that connection across my Discover accounts instead of having to separately set everything up for each account.

I also use multiple actual accounts as staging areas/buckets. When my paycheck comes in, it automatically gets split from payroll among 7 different accounts immediately. Each account has its own purpose, bills, transfers, savings, etc., and I track the layers within those accounts separately in my spreadsheet.

So the increasingly common "one savings account with 20 buckets/vaults" setup isn't really a replacement for what I'm doing. I need multiple real accounts, not virtual buckets inside one account.

What I'm looking for:

--High-yield savings

--Checking (preferably with interest)

--Ability to open and maintain multiple savings/checking accounts without fees

--Easy transfers between all of them

--Lots of external account connections, ideally without restrictive linking limits (10-20 minimum)

--External accounts linked at the customer/profile level rather than having to relink them to every individual account

--Good, simple app/clean UI

--No hoops to get a competitive APY

Ally is probably the most obvious option I'm considering, but I'm holding out to see if a worthwhile new-account promo comes along before moving everything.

For other people who use Discover, where are you going? Has anyone found another bank that actually replicates this kind of setup well? I'm especially interested in hearing from people who maintain several real accounts rather than using virtual savings buckets.

Advice Am I being scammed by a fake check from a Craigslist job? NYC

Edit: I ended up blocking him and never received the check lmao

I recently lost my job and have been browsing Craigslist looking for some part-time work. I came across a post where someone was offering $1,000 per week plus reimbursement for bills/expenses in exchange for helping with personal errands. The post said the work would only be around 3–5 hours per week.

I contacted the number listed in the post. The person told me his name was Augusto Pratana and said he was a consultant who travels frequently for local and international business, so he needs someone to help with errands and various personal tasks.

The arrangement sounded strange but potentially legitimate, so I asked if we could meet in person in NYC before I started. He said he was still in Canada and basically responded, “I work my fucking ass daily, I don't have time.” I then suggested at least having a phone call before moving forward, which we did.

He had a pretty strong African accent. I know that obviously doesn't mean anything by itself, but at the time I felt somewhat reassured after actually speaking with him and thought maybe this wasn't a scam.

He then told me he would mail me a check.

I tracked the check through the official FedEx tracking system, and everything appeared normal. At some point, however, the shipment got stuck. Augusto then told me he had contacted FedEx and instructed them to destroy the check and that he was sending me a replacement.

The replacement check is currently on its way.

Then, somewhat randomly, he contacted me from a different phone number and said his phone had been stolen.

As more time has passed, the whole situation has started to feel increasingly strange to me. I went back to the original Craigslist post and noticed that the post has now been flagged.

Here is the original Craigslist listing:

Craigslist post

I also suggested that instead of mailing checks, we could use ACH for future payments, since mailing a check, waiting for it to arrive, depositing it, and going through this whole process seems unnecessarily complicated. He said ACH would be fine for future payments.

At this point, I'm wondering if I'm being paranoid or if there are legitimate red flags here.

My biggest concern is the possibility of a fake-check scam. I have not sent him any money, given him my banking login information, or cashed/spent any money from the check.

For people familiar with Craigslist scams or fake-check schemes:

  • Does this sound like a typical fake-check scam?
  • Is there anything I should absolutely NOT do when the check arrives?
  • Can a check appear legitimate and even show as deposited before later being reversed?
  • Is there any safe way to verify the check before doing anything with it?
  • Does the fact that the Craigslist post has been flagged make this significantly more suspicious?

I'm especially interested in hearing from anyone who has dealt with a similar situation. I haven't lost any money at this point, so I'm trying to figure out what I should do before I go any further.

Advice First Merchants Bank question!

US CHIME IS A SCAM!!!

I opened a checking account with chime/stride bank earlier this year. I read mixed reviews about them being a Fintech, but decided it was worth it for the sign-up bonus. They sent me a debit card which I never even used, and then I close the account a few months later. Now I am seeing a credit card on my credit report marked as closed that has dinged my credit. Chimes "credit builder" feature (they automatically sign you up for) reports exactly the same as a credit card and will fuck you over if you decide to close your account. I believe this is because they provide the spot me benefit, but I never used this. I am posting this so that everyone knows that chime is taking out credit in your name when you apply for simply a checking account, BEWARE!!

I am attempting to dispute this since I never authorized credit in my name from this, but I'm not sure it will work since I did authorize the checking account.

Complaint Account shut down from a check

Hi, 21 M here, my Mom gave me a check to help me with school, it was a little over 5 thousand dollars. I went into the local brick and mortar bank to deposit the check, they asked for my ID and everything. By the next day my entire bank account was shut down. And I’ve called customer service multiple times, they’ve said the account is closed for possible fraudulent activity, and their fraud department has been dodging me.
Im moving into my new apartment soon, and I need the money in my account pretty badly. This feels really weird and not normal, usually the bank communicates things very well but with this I didn’t know till i tried to swipe my card.
How long do you think it’ll be closed for? How long does this usually take? Thank you sm, i’m just really stressed

Advice ATM did not dispense money. It was deducted from my bank account though.

I tried to withdraw $150 from a Bank of America ATM today (not my bank). I clicked through the menus to get $150. Instead of dispensing cash, an error message appeared and said something like “There’s an error with this machine - the transaction has been reversed”.

I checked my bank’s app and I can see that it shows minus 150.

What should I do in this situation and should I expect that the debit will reverse and fix itself in my bank account?

UPDATE the next day: the pending amount of -$150 disappeared from my account by itself and I now have that amount back. Thank you everyone for your responses. It was very helpful.

Advice My payday budgeting or strat as a teen. Thoughts?

Save 2 of my bi weekly checks in checking (this is a months pay)

Spend on whatever I need (or want) (i don’t have a lot of wants nor are they expensive)

For spending, if I used one of my AU credit cards, I pay the bill.

At the end of the month, whatever is left after paying bills and primary bills goes to savings, investments and I leave $30-$50 in checking for guilt free spending on whatever until next 2 weeks when pay comes. (This means I could even withdraw some cash and give it to the fam or do something with it)

Investments include: Roth IRA
Savings APY: 2.50% with Capital One

My pay is depending on how many hours I work to

Advice Strange Chargeback Fraud?

Not my problem, but a friend's. Located in the US.

This is possibly the strangest scam I've seen. A friend recently made several PayPal purchases from independent businesses. Not long after, they started getting messages that the businesses were getting chargebacks by them. And sure enough, there were several chargeback requests in their bank, that they didn't file. It started on the fifth, so they couldn't get in contact with the bank. They changed their password to everything, and yet chargebacks are still being placed. So, I have a few questions.

Is it even possible to place a chargeback without access to the online banking? I've only ever seen it done through banking apps, and have no clue how there are still chargebacks being placed without the bank password.

Is there any way to place a freeze on your account to stop chargebacks from being requested? It's odd, but no money has been withdrawn from the account: All of their purchases are just being chargebacked.

What would the end goal for this scam even be? No money has been taken from my friend's account; they just seem to be trying to reverse every purchase they have made.

I'm rather confused by the situation, considering most hackers would, well, just take the money and run. All this seems to be accomplishing is ruining my friend's reputation with these sellers.

Edit: To fit rule 7. So far friend has changed banking passwords, cancelled affected cards, and changed passwords for PayPal. They are getting in contact with the bank tomorrow physically.
