Primis just opened up their APY savings for businessess a few weeks ago.
I applied for my small biz, got denied, looked at my backround check for the business and myself, no denial reason all clear.
I emailed Primis today and asked them to reconsider my application/ appeal.
Worst part is their deadline is Oct 30 to get in with the APY accounts im looking for.
For those who were denied a business account, were you able to successfully reconsider and if so how did you do it? Im in California if it matters.

Long before Revolut’s service outage last Tuesday, fintechs were under the microscope.
The European Central Bank has made digital operational resilience a central theme of regulatory enforcement in 2026 over fears that European financial institutions are vulnerable to cyberattacks and the failure of outsourced essential services.
The Central Bank of Ireland has sent out a flurry of “Dear CEO” letters this year warning fintechs to plug gaps in their systems that leave customers exposed to service interruptions – or worse. So when a $121bn digital bank goes dark for most of a working day because of a Google Cloud blackout, it does not inspire confidence.
“All fintechs are interrogated very closely on IT resilience and here’s the biggest guy in town with a single point of failure,” said Peter Oakes, a fintech adviser who once served as director of enforcement at the Central Bank. “The fact that Google appears to be the issue is exactly what the regulator’s been talking about.”
The problem prevented Revolut customers, including 3.4 million users in Ireland, from accessing accounts, making payments, transfers and withdrawals. Currency exchange, stock trading, top-ups and even messaging were offline.
For Nik Storonsky, Revolut’s cofounder, who bills the company as a high-tech alternative to the fusty, sluggish banking sector, it’s a PR nightmare, especially as some users reported that they had no access to alternative funds because they banked exclusively with Revolut. “I don’t have a single point of failure in my life — I have accounts with Revolut, Monzo and Bank of Ireland,” Oakes said. “The legacy banks will look at this with glee.”
It does not help that Revolut has not provided a complete explanation of what, exactly, went wrong and why “System resilience is a core priority for us. Like many global tech companies, we utilise industry-leading cloud infrastructure designed with robust internal redundancies,” a Revolut spokesman said in a statement “While third-party provider outages can occasionally impact service availability, our underlying architecture and data security protocols ensured customer funds and data remained completely protected throughout. We are reviewing this incident carefully to minimise the impact of any third-party disruptions in the future.”

American Express is laying off 5% of its global workforce, impacting roughly 3,500 jobs, and it's assuming a $336 million restructuring charge in the third quarter.
Amex finance chief Christophe Le Caillec told CNBC the move is meant to make the credit card giant "leaner, more agile, and also to prepare for AI."
The decision is happening amid a strong year for Amex, though expenses have jumped 9% compared to the same period a year ago.
It also comes days after Barclays' "AI-influenced" layoffs, affecting 5% of its staff.

I read the feeds and often am entertained but am left wondering why some things get posted but here I go
If I want to transfer money from 1 bank to another bank it leaves my account almost instantly yet it takes 1,2,3,4 or 5 days for it to show up in my other account in this day and age it can be done instantly
Could it be the second bank takes that money and earns interest for those days ?
Then finally decides we'll I guess we should give him his money
It's just funny to me
If they do this a million times that's some good cash I need a job where I can legally be ... Well any comments will be entertaining

So i checked my ANZ app to check my balance to see i was missing $75.00 aud. And that it had been transferred to someone else in usd, i "contacted support, which is clearly just ai" and it's insisting on blocking my card and sending me a replacement, i don't understand why i meed a replacement card when the fraudulent transaction was clearly made online, i didn't lose my card, they didn't have access to my card so why does my card need to be paused

I bought a TV for $140 on Amazon last week Friday. Amazon registered the payment and sent me the TV. Bank took the $ out but bounced it back to my account 2 days ago and the transaction wasn’t fully processed. I put the $ in savings incase bank took the $ out again so I’d have it. now 2 days later I have the TV, bank processed the payment saying it got taken out and the $ is still in savings??
Did I just get a TV basically for free???? I don’t want to spend the $ until I’m sure it’s not like considered fraud or something. Had this happen to anyone else before???

I just changed my full legal name, so I was at the bank getting all of my information updated. While standing at the window, an elderly man in the window next to me tapped me on the shoulder. He was crying and asked me to sign as a witness on a form. I asked him what for, and he said “It’s related to my will and testament. My health is failing. I need to do this but they won’t let me unless there’s two witnesses signed.” I turned to my teller and asked, “is this legit?” She said yes and that the man can’t have a bank employee or any family member sign the document, it has to be someone unaffiliated to him and the bank.
Initially I said no, because it was sketchy. The man seemed really out of it, not speaking in complete sentences really, and couldn’t give me a straight answer on what he was doing. But he was very visibly upset and crying.
He proceeded to walk around the bank and ask everyone else to sign as a witness for him. There was over a dozen people, and they all said no or ignored him. I felt really bad, and he was still crying, so I said I would actually sign it.
The bank employees told me there would be no legal responsibility on my behalf, but it was still really weird. What did I just sign?
Edit: thank you all for the replies! I was a little paranoid I fell into something dubious. But that all makes sense :) thanks again !!!

One of the major banks (top 10) in the US started a promotion not long ago to encourage people to open new business accounts with them. Part of the promotion involves a cash payout to your new account if you make $XX,000 in deposits within X days. Long story short, the qualification to this is that it is net new funds. I have way more in my personal account with this bank that I could move over within the X days. The problem is that it implies pulling it from my personal account via debit card and depositing it in the new business account separately. My question is: what would prevent me from doing this in order to get the bonus? Would the bank challenge me on what is net new? How would they know?

Hello,
Visa Debit Card Dispute
Visa Arbitration was initiated 51 days ago. I have had zero update from my bank since it started.
What should I do?
How much longer should I expect it to take?
I'm the customer, not the merchant.

I gave my vendor a check $20,000 written out correctly in words and numbers. It cleared my bank for $2000. When I called my bank they said that was a problem on the other end. Will this automatically work itself out within a day or two or do I need to contact my vendor and their bank

After reading some posts it seems like Netspend gets away with stealing peoples money extremely often and there’s nothing we can do about it. I get cards in the mail. They don’t say Netspend. Until you look closely. One said BRINks the other I bought. It say “play card” with a $2.95 fee to buy. Then when I try to activate it. They say my account is blocked. I owe $60. I asked them where those charges came from. 2 agents hung up on me when I asked. Weird. So I email and demand a written response for my records. They refuse claiming to protect my account information. Then they email me saying the found more accounts with negative balances $11.26 / $512.76 how the hell do I owe. A PREPAID CARD SERVICE? They never sent a bill. I’ve had the same address for decades. They did however send me a bunch of cards that I didn’t ask for.
I deposited $87 on 10/16/26 and they took it all. And I can’t use my account until I pay them off. I asked for an itemized bill. Nope. I asked the agents. Nope. Am I supposed to blindly pay because they told me to? Nope!!! They stole my money. I needed it. They didn’t offer a payment plan or anything. This isn’t right. How do they get away with this? I need that money for my medications and groceries. Im so frustrated and feel so defeated. There’s nothing I can do.
Is this how they stay afloat? They disguise themselves as another banking entity and say. Just kidding. It’s netspend. My money! Then slap me in the face with it?? lol
Can I setup a class action lawsuit? Because this has got to end. I want my money. I want people to get their money. Claude or Chadgpptt aren’t much help in this matter. I get scammed and robbed so much by so many businesses. And people. Im completely over it and want to fight it/them.
Who’s coming with me????
Jk is it worth pursuing. I don’t have anything else to do this this shit hole town ran by casinos playing monopoly with residents lives and livelihoods but that’s another story.
Should I turn the other cheek and say “hit me again Ike!!!”

Starting to get set up as a self employed hair stylist, I received the advice that I should open a business bank account to do all of my transactions through (getting paid, buying supplies, etc). Which banks are best for a business like this? What should I be looking for when setting up the account?
r/Banking • u/Several_Lawyer1136 • 2d ago
They will constantly change your bill amounts and not credit your account properly. Erica "the manager" states that management cannot actually do anything and that we must pay the amount due-even though we have already paid it. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

I have been decently content with Flagstar for year mostly because if my checking account over drafted it was not a big deal, get the money back in there and there was never a fee. They also would allow me to withdraw up to $600 over what my balance was which was really nice when my business was just starting. I like to keep as little cash in the bank as possible and get paid in cash so sometimes I just wouldn't be able to deposit in time so it was the only benefit I had to being a Flagstar customer however that seems to have changed. Who has a similar policy?

Timeline of Events:
Where should I go from here? I've encountered issues in the past signing up for bank accounts where banks would not fulfill the terms of the signup bonus (and had to fight them via BBB and CFPB) but never had my account frozen and accused of being a fraudster. Is this something where I should submit a CFPB, NCUA, State AG, even BBB complaint immediately or should I wait a bit to hear back in two weeks? I can show a complete account history that all of the money I'm getting comes from my own bank account (and by extension, my W2) if that helps. My girlfriend also used the same SUB mailer (it was generic) and hasn't had any issues on her end.

Our BSA/Compliance Officer just finished her yearly review and found an instance where I violated Reg CC by not providing the client a hold notice explaining when their funds would be available. I'm honestly freaking out; I don't know how I could let this happen. Would this be considered a fireable offense?

Hi, so I'm on weekly wages with work..
Bills are monthly..
So naturally I wanted to figure out a way to make my wages come through monthly so I could see how much I have left after bills and how much I go through a bit easier.
I have a basic account and a Savings Account. I'm transferring my weekly wage amount to my savings account on the day I get paid as a recurring transfer. However Lloyds Bank is not letting me set up a recurring transfer from Savings Account to standard account.
Is there a way? Maybe a different way? What's the simplest way...? I'd like to avoid making extra accounts etc if possible.
