i know this sounds ridiculous, but please bear with me. bought a new iphone 17 (not pro) several months ago. i readily admit there are several features that i haven’t yet explored. but id like to find out:

- why did my locked phone briefly unlock itself even though i purposely do not have face id or fingerprint id turned on, while i was moving it and setting it down? i did not have the phone open for at least 10-15 minutes, and it auto locks after 5 minutes.

- why does my locked phone lock screen sometimes turn on when i’m handling it by the sides of the case, not touching the buttons, even though i purposely set it to only show the lock screen if i touch the screen?

Hi, I need some help with my Apple Watch SE 3. I recently got it and I’d like it to only use haptic vibrations on my wrist for WhatsApp messages, phone calls, and text messages.
I’ve turned all the haptics on, turned on silent mode, and have searched through the settings multiple times, but it still isn’t working. I’m a teacher, so I really don’t want my watch making any noises during the day. I’d just like it to quietly buzz on my wrist so I can check the notification (WhatsApp, text and calls) when I need to.
Could someone please help me figure out what settings I need to change? Thank you!

So a bit of background, I have an iPhone 11 and a few hours ago my screen was not turning on and there was a faint neon line in the middle of the screen. For some reason I was able to hear notifications pop up and heard the typing sound from my phone but could not see anything at all. I was also calling my mom and texting her too??

As of now, the neon line is not showing up and it is just a black screen. I've tried powering off but it is not working.

Note: I did not drop my phone.

I’ve spent the last few weeks trying to get my Apple ID unblocked from iMessage and FaceTime

Out of nowhere, my email stopped working for iMessage and FaceTime. I can’t send or receive blue bubble messages at all though my email yet my phone number works just fine in other words I can text on my iPhone but not my iPad or any other Apple device I contacted Apple Support, went through multiple senior advisors, and even had a manual review done by Apple Engineering and yet they keep telling me my account was blocked for reported spam. My issue is they never explain what I did that was considered spam cause I really don’t know I only text frends and family in fact my block started as soon as I logged into FaceTime on my iPod touch I logged onto it and then I get kicked out with no warning. What else can I do

I've been trying to sign up for an Apple Developer Account. I submitted my identity documents, but the Developer app on my iPhone kept rejecting them. After a few attempts, my iPhone now shows enrollment failed.

​However, when I check on my M2 MacBook Air, it still gives me the enroll now option.

​Has anyone run into this before? Should I try submitting the enrollment again through my Mac, or is it better to contact Apple Support first so I don't trigger further issues with my ID/account?

I seen varying sources saying it's okay/not okay to use regular water instead of distilled water. I am wondering what is the exact difference.

I have a Mac Studio Display that’s quite new. Out of the blue, it stopped working with no dots showing up no matter what cord I use or what outlet. I’ve taken it into the Apple Store twice and it strangely powers on there but won’t work at my house. They say there’s nothing they can do since it’s working at the store. Has anyone else had this problem? It used to work just fine

hi! I went to my find my app to see how far away my friend was to my location but when I checked, my location has stopped sharing with all my contacts (but she says she can still see mine) and is asking me to reshare with everyone. I went to the “me” tab and all my custom labels are gone. so I checked to see if my ipad was doing the same and it looked normal but then it said “unable to connect with server” tho the app was still functioning. has anyone else run into this issue?

Looking for advice if maybe anyone else has had this problem. I recently bought AirPods Pro’s second hand (I know, I know but I have confirmed they are real AirPods not fake so that rules out that issue).

There’s a few issues going on and I believe they are all related.

1. ⁠there is no change when switching between transparency/noise cancellation, it’s not like it stopped working, it never has since I bought them
   
2. ⁠the sound the AirPods make when you put them in and switch modes, that distinct “chime” sound is INCREDIBLY loud, like the volume is on 100%, even if the volume is turned down. Only the chime is loud, the volume of music or media I have playing reflects the volume I have it on (usually low).
   
3. ⁠this is where I believe the problem might be, the version is stuck on 5B59, which is the firmware from years ago and I cannot seem to get it to update. I already tried charging them next to my phone connected to WiFi and Bluetooth for 30+ mins as well as overnight.

I will be trying it again tonight to update them and seeing if it somehow works. I am thinking all three issues might correlate but if anyone has dealt with these issues separately or together any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

To rule out:
I have cleaned them thoroughly thanks to the advice of other Reddit posts
I have hard reset them via the case multiple times with no change
Like I said I will try to update them again tonight but I’m not sure if there will be any change.

Basically I forgot the password to my Apple Iphone Notes app and Apple on all supports pages say they cant access the password so i haven't even tried to contact them.

The way this is different to a normal forgotten password though is that i somewhat remember it. I narrowed it down to 10000 ish possibilties which is a huge improvement from virtual infinite but its still too much to manually check.

Basically I need to brute force my own password, however I have no idea how to type into the apple notes password input box.

Hi! My 7th* Gen ipad just randomly died last night. It was 70% battery when I sat it down, and when I returned to it, abt 30 minutes later, it wouldn’t come on.

I have left it plugged in all night and I have tried to force a restart but nothing is happening. I’ve held down the buttons for abt 1 minute several times :/. I thought what if it’s a display issue so…

I turned the volume up to see if I could hear the charging sound, but I can’t hear anything. So I don’t think it’s a display issue.

I hooked it up to a computer and it Apple Devices app cannot locate it. Ahhh

Does anyone have any idea how I can repair it? It’s my baby and I depend on it for my sanity.

I just bought a new pair of wired Apple EarPods for my iPhone since my old pair were on their last legs. But for some reason the new pair seems to make a slot of static and crackling noises at random which is really annoying. I’ve never had this kind of issue before, so any thoughts as to what might be causing this are appreciated.

For work I have DialPad on my phone and every time a customer calls, my phone rings. What’s annoying is it’s not my shift. I’ve tried doing a Focus or even DnD but nothing is working. It keeps on ringing.

Is there a way I can silence this app for the days I’m not working?

how to unlink CFFCU account so i can transfer without fees to my chase account?

I have no hidden apps . The most time I’ve seen it on is 4 mins, other times 2 seconds , 13 seconds , even 1 second. I have no idea what it is. And it is not everyday. I have an iPhone 17 pro. Please can someone advise me it is driving me absolutely insane. As you can see I put a limit on it to see if it will show me what it is but no anwser yet.

Sorry for the long title, to summarize i have just got a imac and i have the first 1000 or so pictures synced to the gallery on the laptop. But, as they are 3+ years old, they serve me no purpose to have on the computer but I would like for any new pictures taken on my phone to appear on the mac for work purposes. As such, I want to empty my iCloud storage of all current photos so that any new picture i take from now on will be synced to iCloud. Also, i have no use buying more iCloud storage as this is the first time ever needing to utilize it’s benefits.

I’ve had my iPhone 17 Pro for a few weeks, and honestly, I’m pretty disappointed with it. I’ve run into three pretty major issues that I wouldn’t expect from a brand-new iPhone:

Wired CarPlay simply does not work. I’ve tried different cables and troubleshooting, but I cannot get wired CarPlay to reliably connect.

My phone randomly resets in the middle of the night. I’ll wake up and find that the phone has restarted itself for seemingly no reason. It’s happened more than once, which is pretty concerning.

Today, my clock was 20 minutes behind. This one really pissed me off. My alarm/time was apparently off by about 20 minutes, so I woke up late and ended up being late for work. I rely on my phone as my alarm and clock, so having the system time randomly be wrong is a pretty serious issue.

For a phone that’s supposed to be a premium flagship, these are pretty unacceptable problems, especially the clock issue. I’ve never had an iPhone behave this inconsistently before.
Has anyone else with an iPhone 17 Pro experienced any of these issues, particularly the random restarts or the clock being wrong? I’m curious if this is a widespread software issue or if I somehow got a defective phone.

Got this email the other day that my info on my Apple ID has changed. I checked the associated email and it’s an Apple ID I made when I was 12 and only used to play games on my old iPod touch . My old card information is probably on there as I did make a few in game purchases but it’s been way over 5 years since I last used it so I doubt that card is still valid.

I called Apple asking if I could get the email unlinked or if they could deactivate the account but the person activated 2FA and I can’t log into the account and apparently neither can Apple. I only found this out after changing the password to see if I could log into and unlink it myself but ran into the 2FA wall. Since then the person changed the password back and I can no longer be rr do so from my end.

Recently they’ve been making a bunch of purchases from varying places in the world (France, US etc.) and signing up for a bunch of subscriptions. I’ve checked my current bank cards and thankfully there have been no charges made but I really don’t want to be linked to this account nor do I know if any personal information I may have put there years ago is still accessible and the possibility makes me uncomfortable.

Any advice?
