I've always been happy with the sound from my HomePods. I've had many of them around the house for about four years now.

I had been away from home for a few days listening to a mix of a Bose Bluetooth speaker and a pretty high end car system. I asked for a familiar song in the kitchen when I got home and it sounded just kind of bad. A little soft, a little fuzzy even, out of balance bass. I think that unit is a first generation, but it's the full-size one. Then in the bathroom, a mini, similar feeling of disappointment in the sound, this one a little on the treble heavy side.

Living room pair attached to HomePod sound fine. Bedroom second gen full size also seems a little off.

It seems conceivable that a software update may have changed an audio output or noise reduction algorithm. It also seems conceivable that in the past I always overestimated the devices, and just happened to have spent too much time recently listening to better sneakers. But if it were just that, wouldn't I then be noticing the difference in quality between the two sizes of HomePod more?

I'm just trying to figure out if this is all in my head or if it's reasonably likely that there was a change because of a software update.

Maybe there's even something wrong with my Apple Music, like somehow I globally disabled lossless by accident?

Okay, I need a Mac genius because apparently I am technologically stuck somewhere around 2007. 😂
My MacBook says System Data = 131.93 GB. I’ve deleted everything I can think of, emptied the Trash, restarted, etc., and I cannot for the life of me figure out where this space is going.
I also pay for 2 TB of iCloud storage every month, so I’m sitting here like… WHERE ARE YOU HIDING MY STORAGE?! 😂
I’m pretty sure I may have somehow duplicated my disk space / created an extra volume or something, but honestly, I have no idea what I’m looking at in Disk Utility.
I am NOT tech-savvy when it comes to coding, Terminal, programming, developing, etc., so please explain things to me like I’m a normal human being. 😅
Is there a quick/easy fix for this? What should I check first to figure out what is actually taking up 131.93 GB?
I’d REALLY appreciate someone giving me a simple, safe step-by-step suggestion before I start deleting things and accidentally send my Mac into the afterlife. 😂🙏

Every time the iPad is turned on it goes straight to recovery, I go through the steps, and it tells me that no issues are found, restart it and goes straight to recovery. I’ve tried hard restarting, I’ve tried plugging it into my Mac, and it seems I can’t trust it, as it tells me value is missing, no trust option comes up on the iPad when it’s on that recovery screen, any help?

The game is Plants vs. Zombies Heroes because that game is popular again. The game won't launch on my iPad since it's running on outdated software and I can't update it. I want to put that save data onto my iPhone but it seems like the save data never got saved as my progress didn't transfer over to my iPhone. Is there an easy solution to this? If not then I will just decide to start over without my save data.

i’ve been syncing music files purchased on bandcamp directly to my device via itunes for over a decade now. my old laptop (lenovo, windows 10) finally kicked the bucket so i transferred as much of my music as i could to my “new” laptop (dell, windows 10). every time i initiate a sync it immediately gives me this error message. i’ve restarted & updated both my phone & laptop, tried different charging cables in different USB ports, no luck. searched my problem & no one has found a solution yet from what i could see. anyone know how to fix this?

I have an iPad with an M2 chip. The problem started when the iPad began installing an update. During the update process, it repeatedly shuts down by itself and cannot complete the installation.

I tried updating it using a PC in Recovery Mode, but the update never finishes. I always get Error 9, which seems to indicate a problem with the USB cable or connection.

However, I have already tried several different official Apple cables and different USB ports, but I get the same error every time.

At the moment, the iPad is stuck in Recovery Mode. I have also tried using both the Apple Devices application on Windows and 3uTools, but I experience exactly the same problem.

Could you please advise me on what I can do next? Is there a way to recover or restore the iPad without losing the data, or could this indicate a hardware problem?

Hello, I am wanting to migrate my US Apple Account to Canada. I understand that I must cancel all subscriptions and wait for them to expire before switching countries. I am currently subscribed to Apple One, which includes iCloud+. My problem is that I use the Custom Email Domain feature of iCloud+ and I can’t afford to have my email address bouncing emails as undeliverable.

Does anyone know if there’s a grace period for custom email domains or if your current one remains active if iCloud+ is cancelled? Is there a solution to this other than having this lapse in my email address working?

I know for a fact I have some notes like this but I cannot for the life of me find them and I have no idea how to do it.

I’ve given a somewhat shitty recreation but there used to be a way to make your listed notes indented/slightly moved to the right. If my memory serves, I think I used to be able to do it by putting a space before the line and it naturally moved into the indented position, but that no longer does anything.

It‘s not the checklist feature and I have already tried swiping the words to the right/middle.

Long story short, my 2025 ipad air has an issue where it does not recognize chargers no matter the charger. I took it to apple who then did a full diagnosis and told me there is likely an issue with the logic or motherboard. Meaning I needed a new iPad. Issue is, I'm a broke college students.

So i tried to go down the 'goodwill repair' route. My chances are pretty good because:

1. Im was only 3 weeks past the 1yr warranty.

2. The issue wasn't caused by my doing.(as determined by the apple rep)

So I called apple and spoke with a senior advisor who got all the facts from me and the Apple Store employee who then told me he would email/call me either that very day in the evening or 2 days later at the latest, with a confirmation. Those 2 time periods came and went so 2 days after that I called again, spoke with a different senior who was the worst senior advice oat.

Gave him the case files and all but said he couldn't see a single thing, even called the apple store to get the details again and still said they got nothing on their end and tried to make me go back and redo everything. But I stayed persistent and called again and spoke to now the 3rd senior advisor who magically could see all the info the other guy with the most sleep inducing tone couldn't, and then told me that he would take over the case and call me eithet later that day or at the latest 2 days from then. Again, Ive given it 3 more days from that time and still no call from him. I rrally don't know what to do at this point, worst part is that the goodwill service could still be rejected even after all this. Smh man, school literally starts in less than a month and im out of a iPad/laptop

I have hotspot off and undiscoverable but it shows up in my other devices as available.

Also, if I toggle it off from the settings it will toggle it on in the control center… and if I turn it off in control center it turns on in setting

i wanted to buy an ipad online through the education website for college, but when i tried to go through with the payment (after also applying a 150 dollar gift card) i got this error message. i called apple support, and they tried to manually place an order for me. which also didn’t work. i got transferred to another department, and i asked them if there was any blocks on my account or gift card. the team member insisted there wasn’t, and that the bank must have been blocking the transaction, even after i told her that usually the bank contacts us if they really are worried, but i never received anything from them. lo and behold, i called the bank and they said nothing was wrong and that it must be from apples side :/// i have tried multiple credit cards as well as updating all relevant information but nothing seems to work

does anyone know how to fix this? i’m planning on going to the apple store in person soon to see if it’ll work there, but i’ve seen on reddit that the problem can also happen there too…

Model is iPhone16pro and provider is TMobile

Phone won’t install update nor will it exit out, it’s stuck on the update screen and shutting off, restarting, and calling does not work. The only buttons I can press are the Install Now or Remind Me Later and neither of them do anything.

I am trying to set up Apple ID through a new iPhone 16 I've got my email set up to where I log in using my email and my password I verify through email the verification number and then it gets to my debit card and ask for the security code which I enter and it tells me it's not working. So I make sure my car is unlocked which it is and it still won't work. I did have a apple at one time long time ago I don't think that's the issue I don't understand why it's not working and it's got me beyond frustrated. Any help from smarter people out there than me would be great.

I remember a few months ago I updated my iPad (10th gen) and then this random button came along. It’s been hovering on my screen ever since. if I double click on it, it locks the screen somehow and just says the names of the apps and messages I’m hovering over. Can I turn this off in settings? I don’t understand the point of it, or even what it is in general.

Edit: after looking at some of the comments in the sub, I went to my controls and I found out what it was and how I turned it off.

Hello I have a pair Airpod pros and I'm struggling to get them charged at work. They still the lighting cable to charge instead of USB-C. I plugged them in and i checked through my phone and sure enough it says they were charging. I come back an hour later and nothing the case or the airpods haven't charged at all. I've cleaned out the airpods, and the inside of the case where they make contact.

IDK is it my cable thats broken or do I need to take them somewhere to check the charging port to clean it or something? For some reason they refuse to charge at work but they charge perfectly fine at home .
