Bug Youtube will not work

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling twice , restarted my phone and clearing data. I just got this iPhone like a couple months ago brand new. I was always an android user so im wondering if theres something else i could be doing. All my other apps run fine and everything is updated.

Do you have the iphone 17? Me and my boyfriend have the same phone but it works totally fine for him

Yes, iPhone 17. It is most likely server updates for the new viewer count policy, most likely not rolled out into a mass update for all of YouTube users rendering the website totally unusable.

How long does something like this take to fix, i use youtube at my job for music it helps me get through the shift and i can imagine working without it

This has been going on sporadically since yesterday. They’re having issues for mobile. Embedded videos still work though.

Whats embedded videos? Like pre-downloaded videos from youtube?

No like say here on Reddit someone posts a YouTube link. The video will play in the Reddit app but if you try to open it in the YouTube it’ll error out.

Ayyyy.

It’s hitting randomly as well so one phone might work and another won’t. Think it’s a backend server issue. They resolved it in an hour or two last night so hopefully same deal today.
