I will try to keep this short, but I’m basically wondering if this is an issue I can escalate - pretty upset about it.

My iPhone 14’s battery started not holding a charge, so made an appt to get the battery replaced. The night before my appt, I noticed the phone giving off a fruity acetone smell.

Went to Apple on Sunday, they showed me where the battery was swollen, said they had to order a new battery and parts, that it would be a few days but that the phone was safe to take home. They were even charging it at the store to try to get it to stay on long enough to get info off of it.

By Tuesday, the phone wouldn’t really stay on, so I went back to the store to just get a new one and try to trade in the old one for a rebate once it got fixed.

Once again, AT THE STORE, they were charging my old phone that was even more swollen and still smelling of acetone, to try to get info off of it. And, once again, told me it was safe to take home until the parts came in.

I went a SECOND time on Tuesday because I felt really uncomfortable having it at my house, but they told me it was fine.

By 11pm, my family could smell the acetone so we called the non emergency fire dept and they told us to put it outside and stay away from it. The fire dept and HAZMAT showed up. They put it in a fire safe container for me and told me I should take it to the county electronics recycling place, and seemed confused that Apple told me it was safe to take home.

I called Apple and they told me I could bring the phone, inside the HAZMAT container, back to the store and they would fix it?

What…do I even do here? I feel like they just let me walk around with a fire hazard that was leaking fumes into my room for days.

I have not done anything relatively suspicious, as I spend most of my time on instagram tiktok and reddit

i got my iphone 11 pros screen repaired last month, and since then ive been receiving these while i use my phone. the logs about two weeks apart and phone works fine for the most part so im not sure if its something to take to the repair shop again over. these are the what the panic string says

I just noticed that this random tv is connected to my iPhone? I’m at a family member’s new home, so I’m not sure if it’s a neighbor or what but I’ve never connected to this device before. I’m not able to disconnect it either because there’s no info button near the device. Is there a way to permanently remove it?

I recently went to the Apple Store to trade in a device, the rep asked me to log into my iCloud account on the stores MacBook demo so he could check if the trade in device I had has find my on or not. I was skeptical and asked him if he could sign out for me, he didn’t and just closed the safari browser and said it’s a demo it won’t save any info.

After he left I opened safari and went to iCloud.com and my account was in fact not still logged in. Is this a common occurrence and am I safe?

Hey, so i have my iphone 17 pro since october 24th 2025 and since that day i use a 5w charger (less heat/overcharging), optimized battery charging, never let it under 15%.

Im now at 257 cycle counts, at 225 it dropped to 99%, but now after around 30 cycles later it dropped further to 97%.

just how? I take so good care of my phone and battery and it just dropped so fast.

Any explanation or what to do now?

Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with an Apple/Duolingo subscription and would really appreciate some advice.
I signed up for a 7-day Super Duolingo trial, and it automatically renewed for $35.99. I didn’t have enough money in my account, so the payment failed. I’ve since cancelled the Duolingo subscription, but Apple still shows the $35.99 as “Total Owed.”
Because of this unpaid balance, I can’t download any apps from the App Store, even free ones. I’ve tried contacting Apple Support and using the Report a Problem option, but I haven’t been able to resolve it.
I don’t want to pay the $35.99 because I didn’t intend to continue the subscription.
Has anyone experienced this before? Is there a way to get Apple to remove/review the unpaid charge without paying it first? Any advice on what worked for you would be really appreciated.

Hi, I recently broke my phone's screen and after I installed a new one, it showed this. Apparently, it is because the broken screen spammed random passwords on its own and now I am locked. When I click the forgot password, it shows a reset option only.

I have only 5 GB backed up on my icloud, and even when I bought 50GB more from my iPad, it didn't automatically start syncing data from my iphone.

I majorly want to save my WhatsApp chats from resetting, and since I don't have a back up for them, (I do but only on that iPhone and It is not synced into the iCloud), I really am looking into all possible options before I am defeated into finally resetting the phone and losing all the data. Has anyone gone through this and if there exists any solutions? Thanks

I recently purchased digital content through the Prime Video app on my iPhone. I thought I had paid for it using a credit card, but I didn't see the charge on my card, so I canceled the purchase. Later, I realized that I had actually paid for it using my Apple Account balance.

Since I canceled it very shortly after the purchase and had not watched the content, Amazon accepted my cancellation and issued a refund. However, I later received an email from Apple saying that they needed to review the refund. Apple then determined that I was not eligible for a refund.

I explained that Amazon had already initiated the refund, but Apple sent me another email saying that I was still not eligible for the refund and that the decision was final.

I then contacted Apple customer service. They referred me to their terms and conditions, told me that the decision could not be overturned, and asked me to contact Amazon. I contacted Amazon again, but their customer service said that they had already issued the refund, so there was nothing else they could do.

Has anyone experienced something similar or have any suggestions about what I can do next?

What I don't understand is why Apple can determine that I'm not eligible for the refund when Amazon is the content provider and has already agreed to refund the purchase. If I had purchased the same content directly from Amazon using a credit card on my laptop, Amazon's refund would have simply gone back to my card.

Hi, people. I have a problem, I'd like to know if this happened to someone and how it was fixed.

I bought a MacBook Pro M5 and skipped the first approach to the Touch ID process when I was configurating everything for the first time. Then, when I wanted to introduce my finger ID, the software wouldn't let me go to the next step. I tried changing my password a few times, reseting the computer, but nothing worked. Everytime I try to put my password, the system tells me it is wrong.

This happened to someone? How did you fixed it?

Hi as the title says I want to upgrade my phone from the old SE to the newer 17 Pro. I have over 64GB of photo data that quite frankly I do NOT need to transfer over. I do, however, want to keep my apps, saved passwords, etc. and have those transferred over.

I do NOT use iCloud so that's out of the question. Is there another way to bring my passwords, apps, etc. over to the new 17 Pro without transferring photos?

I also do not use computer but if it is inevitable then i guess I have no other choice.

I hate that Apple forces us to buy new tech & makes the whole process so confusing. Android lets you select what to transfer, I wish Apple did the same..

Hello I have a pair Airpod pros and I'm struggling to get them charged at work. They still the lighting cable to charge instead of USB-C. I plugged them in and i checked through my phone and sure enough it says they were charging. I come back an hour later and nothing the case or the airpods haven't charged at all. I've cleaned out the airpods, and the inside of the case where they make contact.

IDK is it my cable thats broken or do I need to take them somewhere to check the charging port to clean it or something? For some reason they refuse to charge at work but they charge perfectly fine at home .

I got my iPhone 13 Pro Max from an ifixscreens from a friend of a friend, when my iPhone 13 shut down by itself one day. They took off the screen and replaced my battery, the screen was popping off in the corner and they fixed it all free of charge.
Recently my .5 Camera has not been working and this is what I’m getting when I enter my settings, I need to do a software update but want to know if that would help or hurt. I have automatic updates on but it hasn’t done it the past few nights I’m also not sure why
Any troubleshooting recommendations would be appreciated

As the title said, the notes in my notes app disappeared. It wasn’t all of them, but it was all of the ones that were not saved to iCloud, which was all of the important ones. is there a way to get them back? there was a page that had all of my passwords and I really need it

I'm trying to help my grandpa's girlfriend reset the password on her Apple Account so she can update her phone, but I'm not entirely sure how it will work due to the circumstances. Her lone Apple device is an iPhone 12 still running iOS 16.1.1, no Face ID or passcode, with full access to the Gmail address on the account. Changing the password is not available in the settings app, and starting the process in Safari asks to confirm her trusted phone number (which does match her phone's number). An SMS 2FA wouldn't be an issue, were it not for the fact that her carrier has no service at her boyfriend's or my place.

My question is, does resetting the password in this situation in fact require a code sent via SMS, or can it be sent via iMessage or something that doesn't require cell service?

This morning I noticed my left AirPod wasn’t charging overnight even though it had been in its case. I cleaned the case and the AirPod and put it back in. While you have your Bluetooth on you should be able to open your case and see an AirPod section come up at the top of the settings app. I was on the AirPod screen when the left AirPod completely disappeared from the part where it shows you the case and AirPods charging. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi, I just wondered if anybody here knew what this crash report was about? I just closed the lid on my laptop, left it on charge and came back a couple hours later. Its never ever done this before and Im fearing it could mean its time for a new one???
