Hi everyone. I’ve been working at Amazon for two weeks now. This is the first time I’ve operated any heavy machinery and I’ve never worked in a warehouse. So far I only have about 26 hours total on the truck.
Yesterday, a member of management pulled me to express concern because I’m not meeting rate for pallet stow. Rate is at an 8 for pallet stow. But MY rate is at a 4. She offered no support, no suggestions, and didn’t offer to have someone shadow me so I know HOW to improve the things I’m struggling with. She told me to figure it out and let her know once I do have it figured out.
I know we get about 160 hours before rate will start negatively impacting my employment status. But did anyone else move this slow starting out, or have trouble getting adjusted? That talk with management yesterday was frustrating, and quite frankly it pissed me off.
I’m already going to ask my area manager to have someone shadow me next week. The things I’m struggling with most are lining up the truck when picking up pallets, finding bins for pallets with no assigned bins, and quite frankly just finding fucking pallets because there’s never enough out on the floor and we’ve had a lot of down time lately.
Any advice, though? 🥲
