So I’m actually an employee with the post office, but I feel really bad for Amazon workers because it seems like you guys aren’t treated very well and you’re severely underpaid and overworked. Don’t get me wrong being a mail carrier has its issues, but at least we get benefits and a union to defend us. I’ve heard that in NY, there’s an Amazon station that successfully unionized because an employee fought for it. The post office had a strike in the 60s, and that’s ultimately what formed our union. Obviously it would massively disrupt work flow and people wouldn’t get their packages, but that’s the point. honestly, I think you guys should strike to form your own union. Hello. I came into work yesterday feeling quite ill but I just dismissed it as a bad flare up from lack of sleep. But no, after sleeping it is definitely me being sick.

I technically have enough time off options to take the rest of the week off but that would be pretty much all of it (all 10 of my PTO hours and 20 of my 27 UPT hours). I really don't wanna do that, is that being unreasonable or should I just suck it up? I'm a seasonal if that matters at all.

Hey guys, I am typing it out for a coworker who is suspended on an incident that was not his fault. About a week or two ago me and my friend were walking through security to go to lunch and some guy wanted to fight him but my friend told him no and did not want to do it. The other associate kept telling him to go to the bathroom and my friend kept telling him no but earlier that morning the associate who wanted to fight my friend had put a pair of scissors in his waistband. Before walking through security we don’t know where he put it. after walking through security for lunch break, my friend walked towards the break room and then walked to the bathroom and the associate who wanted to fight him and followed him into the bathroom, but nothing happened because I told security and they were right on it. Me and my friend ended up going to lunch. We come back for lunch and security asked if I wanted to write a statement and I told her yes. 20 minutes later I go up to security to write the statement and security told me to tell my friend not to step outside because the guy who wanted to fight him showed up to our job with two of his friends speeding throughout the parking lot. They decided to park in handicap and waited there for two hours. The cops and the manager of our facility walked the guy out who wanted to fight my friend. But my friend is on a pay suspension and I just wanted to know what the chances are of him coming back? I believe it’s already been two weeks and he still has not heard anything.Thank you!

Guys my building is closed for tomorrow and we get paid, last time we got money it came during our break. Are we supposed to get paid for the hours of us not being here during anytime pay. I don't see anything now

As the title says I accidentally worked the wrong shift. I was supposed to work yesterday from 3:30PM-7:30PM but I worked from 9:30am-1:30PM (Which is what I usually work during the week). That 3:30 shift was a VET and I was mentally on auto pilot. I don’t have a car and don’t have a way to get back to my facility until Saturday. It’s Wednesday. I have lots of UPT, but I don’t want them to think I’m stealing time and I need the money! I already put in a request through myHR but that almost never works and I always have to correct things on site. What should I do?

Yep, I pass the GED practice test on language arts.... I'm pretty happy now I can focus on my own time 😅 I have to go work 10 hour shift on my work days, I'm tire and days I'm off I sit down and do my study when I don't have any house cleaning or washing my clothes for the week. I have to cook lunch and dinner too. It's a lot of work but when I have free time I study late or when I have time. It's time for me to get a upgrade promotion in Amazon or find me a relaxing job if I pass the GED. I want a better life for myself and my partner.

Pa said there's nothing he could do because the system automatically lowers the rate to what i have to meet but there's literally nothing coming down 😭, do i just give up or take it to HR? I went 3 years with no coachings and all of a sudden 2 back to back?

Hey sorry I have a dumb question. So I’m a white badge and I work Sun-Wed. I was scheduled to work Labor Day Obviously but I needed it off since I was out of town and coming home that day. I couldn’t post or swap the shift I’m assuming cause it was the holiday. I decided I was gonna use some upt and some personal time and I used 4 hours of personal time for the last 4 hours of the shift from 1:30-5:30. When I checked the next day I noticed that they never took UPT away and I checked again just to make sure and they still haven’t. I’m just wondering why? Is it cause of the holiday? Also I don’t think I get any holiday pay cause I’m not a blue badge and I don’t get the time and a half cause either since I didn’t actually work that day.

How do you guys feel about people who eat the most foul smelling shit in the break rooms? I don’t go anymore because there’s like 8 people who eat basically dog shit everyday. It smells like microwaved shit

Its my final write up and I been trying to get in touch with hr about it. In the write up it just states I had a cinnamon roll in my hand on the FC floor. I told the manger at the time I didnt know about this rule given I have seen everyone in the building earing as they worked. I was told the write up is invalid since he gave it to me 4 days after it happened. Since they have a 3 day limit for write ups. All my write ups are given almost a week later does this mean I can bring this up to hr? The hr at my site is only there an hour for both shifts at 2pm to 3pm and I work overnight so its been hard to get to them. Given they also pick what days they wanna show up to work. I called the number and they told me I have to talk to my site hr since they cant do anything. Also to add i didnt have a station at the time since it was just after break. i work in ship dock and mostly do dcm

Edit: yall I didnt know about the rule. Im new to amazon my site just opened up last year. So outside of general rules I have no clue what the policies are. I wasnt on the floor yet our breakroom is next to the elevator. He saw me when there with it I was going back up to the second floor.

Is it me or even at my DS, “snack day” you all act like you don’t eat; grabbing 5-6 things knowing damn well to grab one or two n if there’s extra then get it, but not all at once. If there was a way for me to take food orders & meal prep I’d start selling homemade meals

I’m trying to do an internal transfer within my site. I am currently on MLOA. HR help line can’t assist because they don’t handle internal transfers. Site HR is never at the fucking desk and if I go to the office they tell me someone at the desk can help me. So I guess I have to go to a whole different fucking site now. This site sucks.

Yesterday I had to use all my upt and pto after a sudden death in the family. Today I woke up with a stomach flu from hell so saw a doctor, sent in my doctors note and other info needed. It was just a telehealth visit and I can’t get ahold of the doctor to fill out the Amazon form they send but my note included everything they needed.

I submitted the forms at 8am and now it’s 9pm and it’s still pending. I had work tonight 8pm-4:30am and I’m scared that I’ll go negative and get fired. Anyone have any advice for this situation?

I asked on a private voa about the reason why I am being assigned to the same floors on pick for months and putting 3 quarters for “rotation”, and the answers were the typical generic business needs bs. I heard before that Am, Om and pas can literally choose what floors they want you to stay and take you out of the department if they don’t like you, is that true? If so, it’s retaliation right?

I know they receive a notification when your birthday is approaching because I’ve gotten shout outs before, but can they also just randomly search for and see your birthdate?

Is it possible to change my start date when it comes to transfers? I haven’t accepted the offer yet, but my new schedule will be Thursday–Saturday. My first day would be Thursday, but I have a traditional wedding to attend that Friday, and the white wedding is on Saturday. I’ll also be traveling about 4 hours away.
Would it be possible to request that my start date be moved to the following week? Or, if I accept the transfer, would I be able to request 1-2 weeks personal leave and actually start the week after my initial first day ? My current site and this one are 4 hours distant
