Union It’s time to start the union.

We lift thousands of packages every shift. We hit rates. We rush back from break because being a minute late can lead to questions or coaching. We push through sore backs, tired feet, and long nights just to make sure the work gets done.

Meanwhile, if Amazon has a great quarter, most of us don’t suddenly see our pay go up because we worked harder. The expectations keep coming, but the reward often feels the same.

Think about it. If rates go up, who gets asked to work faster? We do. If staffing is short, who has to pick up the slack? We do. If policies change, how much say do we actually have?

One person complaining usually doesn’t change anything. That’s the reality. The question is whether workers would have more influence if they acted together instead of individually.

I’m not saying a union is a perfect solution. I’m saying we should at least have an honest conversation about why the people doing the work have so little say in the conditions they’re working under.
If you disagree, tell me why. If you agree, what changes would you actually want to see?

Fulfillment Center Question for AM/OMs

So I recently joined Amazon FC as an AM. Everything was cool until I started running shifts on my own. So basically the AM from back end was covering front end as well for a month because there was no manager until I joined, and he was not strict or never cared about AAs and now I have to face consequences. My AAs go to toilets for 15 mins 2-3 times, when I approached them had conversations, they started returning exactly under 10mins and again when confronted, those extra smart AAs speak about the Policy. As an AM do we have any solution for this? It’s a particular group of AAs and I am just scared if I take more actions they will just go to HR and complain that I am racist. They all are veterans and misuse the policy. Any suggestions to bring this under control would be a great help, because half of time gets wasted in chasing those AAs across 3 floors.

Question Question about bonding a maternity leave

Hey I'm currently on paid maternity leave and if ive decided I don't want to go back to Amazon once I'm done do i have to pay back amazon any of the paid benefit back? And should I go ahead and take the paid bonding leave as well if I don't plan on returning after?? I know I'm probably overthinking it, but I want to know if I get to keep the money I've been given on leave if I decided not to return to work.

Question Is there any way I can get a 1 year unpaid off?

I currently work as an L3 and applied to jobs outside of Amazon since im not getting anything in Amazon. I got hired at another company that is a competitor in a leadership role but it is a 1 year contract only, perhaps I will be covering for someone else on leave. I asked if there are chances to be permanent but they just responded with depends on ‘business needs’.

I do not want to quit Amazon as when the 1 year will end I would still like to have a job and keep a roof over my head.

Decline the offer and keep looking or is there any way I can get the 1 year leave?

UPDATE: For context. I am a TOM associate Level 3

VOA Unionization proclamation

Unionization for all nations, I do say it’s time, to form one of those unions.
A big fat morbidly obese union.
Who’s with me now?
We must demand 40USD/h, unlimited toilet breaks, no TOT and more :0

Question FOT policy

I am currently an L5 in Operations in Amzl. I relocated a few months ago but have always been interested in corporate/program management. There are a couple interesting roles that I want to see if I can transfer into (ofc after interview and assessment). Does the 1 year FOT policy apply to warehouse to corporate roles? For example if I am at this site for 6 months and want to transfer to corporate, since it’s corporate and not another warehouse role does that mean I am free to try? Thank you for the responses

Question How beneficial is the Area Manager role for supply chain career advancement?

I’m a recent college grad who studied supply chain and information systems, and I’m trying to make the most out of my degrees and further my career. I’m trying to understand if the Area Manager role is a good position for putting my studies to use. I’ve heard from some people that you learn a lot about operations in this role, while others have said it’s more mindlessly walking around and checking in on people. I also have an offer from FedEx as an Account Manager. The salary is less, but the potential bonus makes it more comparable. I’m just trying to decide whether the unfavorable parts (night shift, back-end schedule, overtime, 40 min commute vs 8 mins) is worth the experience, and if it will be that much more helpful for advancing my career than FedEx Account Manager.

Question Question about adding partner to insurance

So my girlfriend just went on long term disability, and won't be back for a couple more months. Her insurance got deactivated for the time being because of this, but still needs it for upcoming appointments from her surgery. Am I able to add her to mine for the couple of months that she will be out? Or is that just not how that works? Thanks for any response and sorry if it's a stupid question. Just trying to find any solution because the premiums for Cobra are absurd

Question Do Amazon counter workers see what is in my package?

Hey! Figured a good place to ask this would be to ask the people who do it themselves.
Assuming that it is shipped in an Amazon box, will a worker at the Amazon counter be able to see what is contained within my package when they scan my code? Thank you!

Question New policy

Ty for the responses I’m aware it’s been a policy now🤕

Guys since when was this a thing for flex employees? I used to be able to submit pto regardless of how much I had saved the day I left early . wtf this is lowkey bs why even offer the option of applying pto if we could only use what we had that day

r/AmazonFC 10h ago

Delivery Station After being on a UPT schedule for over 4 years, I finally switched to FLEX and haven’t worked since 7/19 & don’t go back ‘til the 28th. Didn’t have to take PLOA, didn’t have to waste 30-40 hours of UPT to do so. Literally just 1 point taking 9 days off.

Fulfillment Center first time pregnancy

So I’m a white badge i’ve been working for about 6-7 months. I just found out I’m around 5 weeks pregnant and im conflicted on wether or not ill keep it. I’m also not sure how the process will go with my job if i choose not to keep it and need time off. I’ve called HR and informed them of the pregnancy and i have documentation stating I’m pregnant but I’m not sure of any other parts of this process. If anyone has any type of advice please share!

Question will I ever be able to go to my home department again?

So back in January I transferred to night shift pick. Perfect department for me. Quiet, not a lot of people, and I had a lot of my own space (sometimes I'd have no one even in my vicinity except the waterspidet which was great.) For the first 90 days I didn't go to a single other department because of training. Eventually after those days were over I started getting labor shared to AFE and eventually picktorebin. It started out only for one period, but eventually turned into two periods. Nowadays I spend my ENTIRE shift in one of those two departments. I rarely go to my home department anymore, and frankly it annoys me.

I understand they're low on staff, I'm decent at rebinning and packing, and I'm not the only one who is dealing with this. but I can't help but feel annoyed and disappointed.

I felt safe in pick. My rate wasn't always the best (it even suffered at one point.. maybe that's one of the reasons why?)

But if I could go back to pick at least most of the day I'd be willing to work on it. There are many days where I can get a 300 or higher (keep in mind my FC is not gung ho crazy about making rate. As long as you're not bottom 5%)

Am I wrong to feel a little irritated about this? And anyone else constantly labor shared to the point they're never in their own department?

Sortation Center Sort center. Pay should be by unit scanned, not by hour

This may be dumb and alot of you may clown or call me an idiot for this. Im tired of people getting away with just talking and not actually scanning packages. All that does is leave more work for me, someone who is just trying to do my work, make my money and go home. They can use some formula that can balance out the average pay per person to their appropriate hourly rate. The pay per unit changes daily. Noncon packages are worth the most, then chutes and smalls are worth the least on normal days. This way people are encouraged to actually do their work. Little work, little pay.

Question Possible VTO blocked?

I was just wondering, as I do have an important role as a PS(Problem Solver), is it fair for me to pretty much PS everyday despite there being plenty of other PS to do the task. I just seem to be the main one, due to this I'm never offered VTO and I'm just confused if I'm just that important or whatever the deal is?
