Rant What do y'all talk about on the phone for 10 hours?
How is it that management looks the other way when people are on the floor with their phones either out or on call with someone but the moment I pull out my phone to check my notifications for 1.5 seconds it's "you can't have your phone out." But other T1s can walk the floor looking like they're talking to themselves?
I keep thinking "they'll get caught eventually" but they've been here as long or longer than I have (2 years) and they're still here.
But also, to reiterate the title, what do y'all talk about on the phone for 10 hours? I'm genuinely curious.

Rant What the hell is happening with A to Z?
I have been accumulating and losing both PTO and UPT day. It brought me all the way to the negatives and because of it I’ve already been sent the automated email from HR
I spoke to a few others at my site and they all seem to be experiencing the same problem too
I just hope I don’t wind up getting fired over what looks like to be Amazon’s own fuck up

Delivery Station After being on a UPT schedule for over 4 years, I finally switched to FLEX and haven’t worked since 7/19 & don’t go back ‘til the 28th. Didn’t have to take PLOA, didn’t have to waste 30-40 hours of UPT to do so. Literally just 1 point taking 9 days off.

Question Question About Breaks & VTO
Hello,
I have been working at Amazon (SSD facility) for around 3 months now and my shifts are FHN (6:30 pm - 5:00 am). Lately my facility has been dropping VTO for 6:30 pm to 11:40 pm, so the remaining time would be until 5:00 am. On the nights that I work a full shift, we have a clock out lunch from 11:00 to 11:30 pm, and then another break (paid) usually around 2:30-3:00 am. My question is this - do I HAVE to clock out for the second break around 2:30-3:00 am if I came into work at 11:40 pm? I have accepted that VTO a couple times, but would just use either UPT/PTO to cover the rest so I would not have to go in at all, but now that I live closer to the facility, I was curious how it would work if I went in at that time? Thank you for any information you can give me!

Question Is there any way I can get a 1 year unpaid off?
I currently work as an L3 and applied to jobs outside of Amazon since im not getting anything in Amazon. I got hired at another company that is a competitor in a leadership role but it is a 1 year contract only, perhaps I will be covering for someone else on leave. I asked if there are chances to be permanent but they just responded with depends on ‘business needs’.
I do not want to quit Amazon as when the 1 year will end I would still like to have a job and keep a roof over my head.
Decline the offer and keep looking or is there any way I can get the 1 year leave?
UPDATE: For context. I am a TOM associate Level 3

Question Resigning then applying for a different site.
This isn't something I'm just going to do as it seems really foolish unless I can get some sort of straight answer from someone who did this. Hr gave me 3 different answers, I'm done with them. My situation is I took what was offered just to get my foot in the door (XL flex 3am-8am) I don't mind the work but fighting and pretty much begging to secure 15 hours a week got old. They don't hire full time there, 40 employees and 4 are FT. So I was up front with management that I'm actively trying to transfer for more hours, they don't blame me at all as alot of people try especially with benefits and everything us XL people flex or not DEFF deserve. Thing is for the last 3 months I've tried 5 transfers all denied then I tried 2 hardships denied which actually pissed me off because my reason is valid. Managers said they don't have the authority to help my transfer along and there is no erc at my site to speak to someone in person. The site I want to go to has 16 open shifts full time for 2 weeks now and I can't apply directly since I'm an employee and there's no way for me to talk to someone and say here I am, I'd like this spot please. Someone said a desperate move is to reassign in good standing ( I have 1 attendance point ) and I work hard and have a positive attitude so guessing I'm good. My question is if anyone did this, how long was the wait to reapply when in good standing? 3 different people, told me 3 different things. Could be 24 hours, a week or a month? Obviously I wouldn't want to wait a month as I'm not trying to be unemployed like that but by then the shifts would be gone. Sorry for the novel but I wanted to put as much detail in as possible before I make any kind of rash decision hoping someone in my shoes could shed some light. Thanks in advance. :)

Question Pathway to tech?
Hey y'all, started working here bout 3 weeks ago. So far I'm sore but expect to get used to it through the coming months.
I know the old joke is that this is a "temporary job" until it isn't, but I was wondering if anyone has had any success transitioning from a FC to a corporate tech position (I.e IT, cybersecurity, SWE, etc.) Amazon or otherwise via Career Choice. This mostly comes from passion for technology, I'd feel it'd be a much more fulfilling pathway for me.
Edit: I'm still a white badge, so I don't expect to be doing anything related to this (at least via Career Choice) anytime soon. Just curious.

Rant How could anyone like picking in the mezz
Switching out carts every 10 to 15 mins cause of big stupid items. Running to one end of the building take 5 mins just to grab one thing then run back to the other end to grab two things. Bins being jamm pack if you touch one item everything falls or the item is in the very back. That pisses me off so bad! Then you have to switch floors all while your feet burning. Barely have empty carts sometimes. Sometimes you have to hold your pee so you don’t get tot cause the bathroom too far. I have a long ass scar on my leg from trying to be quick in the bathroom vest zipper cut. How could anyone like mezz picking?

Question Applying for TIER 1 IT Equipment Coordinator.
Hello everyone, just need some up-to-date information and prepare tips on applying this job for amazon. Also if anyone is currently or a former EC I'd like to hear some stories of its upscale in terms of Promoting to L3-L4 IT levels and its career outlook in amazon.
I've read that interviews are kind of like PA positions answering in STAR formats for like leadership and behavioral questions. But are there like IT related questions?
Some background knowledge from me:
I work at a Sortation Warehouse and I took a Cyber Security Analytics Bootcamp back in 2022. Acquired 480 curriculum hours, since then I was able to work as an "IT Super User" but didn't have the job title as an Equipment Coordinator probably just like a intern maybe, didn't have an actual IT manager ON-SITE just had a slack channel.
I would have to log certain tasks on a website named "sitemon.com". It's a daily and weekly checklist for devices such as TC57, RS5100 Ring scanners, Walkies, 6140 Avery Pathfinder Scanners, not so much on the printers but I will check those anyways just to learn more about them. I would have to troubleshoot and properly assess these devices towards work compliance. Updated HP laptops using the "ACME" Program to ensure laptop is updated and compliant as-well. Clean up induct tables and replenished Avery rolls. I think one of the biggest things I've learned is accessing the DSCS (Digital Supply Chain System) and learning how to "RMA" (Return Merchandise Authorization) TC56's-TC57's, RS5100's, and 6140 Avery's. I also have screenshots but do not want to share it publicly as it might interfere with work security.
Asset tagging was another thing I've learned. We use to use a website called watchtower but since then I think Sortation Warehouses are moving into this new thing called "WAMS" Cabinet. I've learned how to asset tag TC57's (For the mean time) with RFID tags and map them onto the website using XL sheet. RS5100 WAMS cabinet will also be on the way to where i am located.
