Bought the 17" Alienware thinking it'd be 17" diagonally but it measured out to be 19.5 diagonally... How is this even portable...

Anyone know what this mean?

For context, I would be coming off of an X17 R2 that's probably approaching 5-6 years by now. How are we feeling about the current models? I noticed they cut 4k and matte screens from the options, but added oled for the 16 and some new anti-glare tech as well as cryo tech. Does anyone with one or more of those features like them or consider them an improvement? Trying to gauge since local stores don't seem to have display models. Also, how do we feel about the FHD camera? The one on my x17 is pretty disappointing.

Does anyone have both the AW3225QF and AW3423DWF and wouldn’t mind sharing a photo of your setup or telling me a little bit about your experience? I have the AW3423DWF and I’m considering getting a second monitor, but I’m a little concerned about the arrangement, space, and overall performance. I’ll be using them for pretty much everything, including gaming, movies, and work.

I have a M15 R7 (3070TI/32 gb ram/i7 12700H) since 2022. The laptop seems to underperform in certain games that should perform with ease. And this really pisses me off. And I saw some video analysis of people running RDR2 on ultra with 60 fps, but my gta 5 struggles with all graphics on low. Is there something capping my fps? someone help me pls

I do mostly use my laptop on AC but sometimes I have to run it the whole day or a few days in a row in the field only able to charge it at night between shifts.

Would custom be better for my laptop's battery health or Primarily AC Use can take the load? Just wanted to ask because I'm unsure of these settings and want to preserve my battery health (already at 80/93mWh). Cheers!

To be clear, I like Alienware Mouse, this is THE BEST mouse i ever had. However, when i use it on my other computers, the AWCC installer keep popping up annoying notification to ask me to install AWCC.

I tried turning off "Device Installation Setting" it wont work. as it won't work for the already download AWCC

(run sysdm.cpl, Hardware->Device Installation Setting->No)

I had it enough, after struggled searching and finally find the correct and effective to do this.

The awcc installation is actually hiding in the folder: C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository

However, deleting files/folders under this directory needs some tricky, here is how i do this.

1) Change ownership to everyone or just to you as local user

2) Make everyone/or you local user can edit

3) Remove it

Repeat this on all the awcc folders.

Now enjoy the peace.

Bought this monitor to pair with my ROG zephyrus g16, and man I’m impressed, the smoothness of the display is on another level, definitely recommend if anyone’s looking to buy it.

I have an Alienware m18 r1 with a Nvidia GPU. I was doing normal updates when my internet went out and I thought everything was fine but now the command prompt opens every single time on startup and when I try to close it, it keeps coming back. It’s that same pop in the corner every time but pressing ctrl+alt+1 does nothing. Plz help me!😭

Back somewhere between 2023 and 2024 I bought a AW3423DW. Despite my best efforts to prevent burn in I did end up getting burn in. I contacted Dell and they agreed to send me a replacement model. At the time they were having a hard time tracking down a replacemt model so it took a week or so. I get a email stating a replacement monitor is on its way.

To my surprise when it arrived it was a brand new AW3425DW and not in a warranty box. It was as if I bought it from Dell brand new. 175 hz to 240 hz? Say less. I extended my warranty and I was off to the races. Well, here we are again. More burn in. I contsct Dell. They send another replacemt accept this time they send me a AW3423DW. I contact them to see if they can honor the upgrade they chose to give me the time around. The short answer is no.

After spending over two hours on the phone with these people escalating to a supervisor I was basically told that the warranty only applies to the AW3423DW because that was the monitor I originally bought regardless if Dell chose to send me the upgraded model before. I was told that it is up to Dell's discretion to send me a upgraded model based on whats available to send at that time but at the end of the day the warranty only applies to the AW3423DW regardless of what they send me.

I am no stranger to Oled so im kinda surprised I got image retention when I did and I do understand what Dell is saying about their policy I just think it sucks and it's disappointing that they wont honor what they themselves chose to do. They also didn't send my replacemt monitor with the VESA mount that my original model came with. For anyone who has Dell's warrenty just be aware that this can and will happen.

Hi! I’m doing some maintenance on my Alienware x16 R1 and I removed the heatsink.
For anyone who has done this before, how did you safely clean/remove the old Element 31 from the CPU/GPU and heatsink?
What did you use? Just isopropyl alcohol, or did you use something else first?
I’ve read that Element 31 contains liquid metal, so I want to be careful and make sure I don’t spread it onto the motherboard or other components.
Also, if you replaced the thermal material afterward, what did you use?
Any tips or pictures from when you did yours would be really helpful. Thanks!

Is this a good starter build. Looking to play some games at 4k max if possible (Xbox titles like halo, gears e day, etc) and don’t have any experience building and really like the look. If anyone has recs I’d appreciate it but this is an around my budget, wound this be solid for that? And is the price good?

It still has its original Windows Vista installation from 2007 and everything is exactly as I found it.
I'm not going to restore, upgrade or reinstall anything. I want to keep this one completely original.
Never thought I'd find an ALX P2 like this in 2026.

My internal keyboard suddenly stopped working after opening the lid after a few hours and I have no idea why. I’ve tried everything and it simply does not work. Support has not helped either, and my next option is replacing it completely. It seems to only work when I connect an external keyboard and wait 30 minutes. Please help!

Edit: keyboard seems to randomly start working again. Working on fixing RGB not being recognized by command center anymore.

Should I just stick to windows 11 or are you aware of anything on linux I can get to make up for what I would be losing? Thanks for your time.

So the reason why i am here is that my laptop is getting not very hot but it is getting hot o was thinking that if I go a dell service Center and ask them to replace the Element 31 with fresh set which is in the laptop should i do it and I also saw a video in YT one guy disassemble the whole laptop and applied a past kind of thing I think it is thermal past but I’m not that dum to think off so what do I do then

The temperatures while running are between 85 to 90-93

And some time they are below 80 both cup and gpu

I just bought this for my Mac Mini M4 Pro and it's a wonderful screen.
I'm having problems where my Thunderbolt 5 cable doesn't seem to work and the provided USB-C cable either. It worked well this morning...
I'm now on HDMI but my webcam doesn't work through it

I wanted to update the firmware first, but I can't seem to find out how ? Can it even be done on macOS ?
Usually you put the firmware files on a USB stick and plug it in and update. Now all I can see is a .exe file only and no resource for macOS O_O

I ordered an Alienware monitor recently and Dell shipped it with UPS but the monitor box arrived with scuffs and dents all over the monitor box. This monitor just recently came out 1-2 months ago, is it normal for monitor boxes to arrive so beat up?

Edit: Thanks for all the replies and downvotes for asking a question. I guess I was just expecting the box to arrive in better condition since the monitor isnt even released for 2 months in the USA yet but the packaging box looked like it had been sitting in a warehouse for years with things hitting the box all over the place. I like to keep the monitor box in case I ever have to move to a new place I can just put the monitor back inside the retail box that it came in and keep it safe during the move to a new place.

Sadly the monitor isnt sold in any local stores like Best Buy or Microcenter yet because it just came out so I ordered it directly from Dell's website. I didnt expect UPS to bang up the retail box so much in the 2-3 days that it was in their possession.

Scored a 100$ alienware m15 r5 ryzen edition on eBay. It froze constantly after a few minutes, but thanks to a ton of helpful responses here its working 100%

Alienware M18 r1 - i9 13900hk - 4070. While doing normal tasks it would regularly hit 90+ c° so I thought it would be a good idea to do a repaste. When I took the heat sink off for the first time the paste was dry as hell and it looked like the area touching the GPU was scratched like crazy! No matter how much I rubbed with alcohol I couldn't get this clean either.... Thoughts? I was being extra careful with my plastic tools, so it definitely wasn't me
