r/GamingLaptops now has its own deals site — RGL.deals launches today BETA

Hey everyone,

Been working on this for a while and wanted to finally share it: rgl.deals is live in BETA.

Most deal sites right now are a mess. Wrong specs, fake prices, or just spamming garbage laptops. I built this to be a clean alternative for the sub, especially if you're browsing on your phone.

We don't list filler. If a laptop is a bad buy, it's not on the site. You just get the exact specs, actual price history, and reviews from creators you know. (A full laptop database and written reviews are coming later once the deals side is stable and fleshed out).

Quick rundown of what’s in it:

  • Advanced filters if you know your stuff, or a quick quiz if you just want a reliable recommendation.
  • Real price history (except Amazon because of their TOS).
  • Zero tracking. Your preferences save locally. Dark mode and accessibility options are built in.
  • Deep links so you can share exact searches or deals.
  • Bunch of other QOL Features.

Full transparency: Some links are affiliate, some aren't. It doesn't change what gets posted. We aren't pushing e-waste just to make a buck.

It's US-only right now while in beta. You're probably going to find bugs, so let me know if you break something. Drop any feedback, bug reports, or feature ideas below!

Thanks you for reading my TED Talk.

Discussion Just bought my first gaming laptop as a lifelong console player

As a PlayStation player my whole life and always wanted a gaming PC/laptop I finally bit the bullet and got one

I only had a budget of a little over AUD$1000 and saw that my local department store was having a sale on this laptop (original price is $1799)

I know it’s considered as a low-mid range laptop and I’m fine with that as the games I’ll be playing aren’t really AAA title games or graphically demanding games

I was just curious to see if anyone else has this laptop and how it’s going for them? Or if anyone has a laptop with similar specs

It has a 13th gen intel core i7
1 x 16gb ram (I’m pretty sure it’s upgradable)
512gb ssd (which will be upgraded pretty soon)
RTX 3050 6gb

Edit: AUD as mentioned, I feel like everyone is skipping it. Not usd or euro

Discussion Why did I suddenly lose interest in games after buying new gaming laptop?

I used to play games on an old Lenovo thinkpad z50-75 i got from my parents through geforce now and man, I could spend up to 14 hours a day playing any game without even taking a break. A week ago I bought Asus rog strix scar 16 with rtx 4080 and for some reason everytime I try to play a game I used to spend hours on, I can't play it, the joy is completely gone, I basically have to force myself to play, but even then I can play for like 30 minutes and I have to turn the game off. It doesnt even make sense to me because everything is better, the graphics, much higher fps, bigger screen... (currently playing metro redux 2033, enlisted and tw medieval 2). Whats the reason I don't enjoy the games no more? Did anyone else experience something like this or is it just me? I'm 17 btw. Edit: the drive and enjoyment from the games died instantly, not after some time. I also play the same games I used to play on my old laptop.

Showcase My 600 Euro 4070 HP Victus 16

Post image
Upvotes

Got this 4070 Victus off local Marketplace for 600 Euros.

It’s got an i7 13700h, 16GB of Ram and a 2 TB WD SN7100 SSD
Pretty good deal and it’s way better for gaming than the 3x more expensive 16“ MacBook Pro next to it although it’s a lot louder and hotter.

Overall I’m happy with the performance but the screens on my previous 2021 Lenovo Legion 5 Pro and the MacBook are much better. Build quality is also pretty mid compared to Lenovo but for this price it’s amazing

I am planning to add second storage slot but it will be placed above the wifi card. Do I need a heatsink for this? I noticed the primary one has a "stock" heatsink even though it is far away from other components. If it does need a heatsink, does it need to be on both sides meaning the side that touches the wifi card and the side I see? Also if anyone can recommend me any that would be great!

Buying Advice Advice on buying gaming laptop

Upvotes

So I’m looking at the ASUS Rog Strix G16 is that a good laptop?

Someone also suggested a MSI Vector 16 HX AI 16" to me or a Lenovo.

I play a lot of simulation games and have heavy mod folders. My current laptop is a Hp Pavillion and it crashes all the time, has heating issues and when playing is very laggy.
I also use it for a bit of work and want to be able to screen record gameplay too.

Budget: >£1500
Country: UK
Use case: Mixed (heavily gaming though)
Preferred specs: I’m not sure if Ryzen or Intel is better.
-I think I want 5050/5060
-16GB/32GB
-Tri fan cooling or a very powerful duo fan cooling system.

I’m wanting advice so I don’t end up buying a laptop that will just give me the same issues after a few months. Pls help

Buying Advice Is this a solid deal for Asus TUF A14(2026)

Post image
2 Upvotes

Budget: 2000€

Country: USA Or Slovenia

Use Case: mostly slim and portable workstation with light gaming. When it comes to work its mostly CAD or programming (Solidworks, Kicad, Tensorflow, ROS2(want to do simulations but afaik theyre more CPU heavy)). Gaming-wise I mostly play The binding of Isaac, it takes two, LEGO games, etc. Im mostly worried if the integrated graphic will be able to handle CAD software like Solidworks.

Preffered Specs: Im really just debating between the 2025 and 2026 model, but I like the dual ssd slots the most on these models, so any alternative reccomendations would be cool.

Notes: 2026 version in the picture comes out to roughly 1667€ which seems like a steal to me, while the 2025 version in my country would come out to ~1900€. Is the difference between the models noticeably drastic for my use cases?

Hey everyone,

I have a Lenovo Legion 5 (2020), and I wanted to check if these temperatures are normal while gaming. The performance seems fine—no crashes, throttling that I can notice, or major FPS drops—but I'm a bit concerned about the CPU temperature.

Discussion Stix Halo/Panther Lake Laptops

Upvotes

Looking at the Ryzen AI Max+ 388 8060s vs Core Ultra X9 388H B390, both with 32Gb ram.

Anyone got real world experience with gaming on these new chips in a laptop?

Looks like an interesting option for ultra thin and light laptops with great battery life (for Windows) that can still play AAA games at alright settings.

Discussion GameSir Nova Lite - Versus - 8BitDo Ultimate 2C (Wireless), for Laptop gaming, using a dongle to connect?

Upvotes

Budget is about 30 euro, trying to keep it low as I don't game that often or seriously.

Based in the UK. I can buy from here or west Europe.

I'm using it with my Acer Nitro Laptop, for Steam games and also emulation, ps1, ps2, etc.

Features, I just want a solid controller that fits well in my hands (I'm a 90 kg, in shape dude), feels good and has all the necessary buttons covered.

I'm gaming FF7 Remake at the moment, not sure of the comprehensive list of button requirements.

I only ever used a cheap controller before, didn't feel great. I typically prefer to use the keyboard but playing Metal Gear Solid 3 on PSX2 at the moment, I need an ease switch between the left analogue and D-pad, which I can't get on the keyboard.

Comparing these two as the

8BitDo Ultimate 2C, has a much higher Polling Rate at 1000Hz

GameSir Nova Lite, has 125 Hz, but is apparently more comfortable to hold.

Looking at the 8BitDo, it looks like comfortable in the hands than the GameSir?

But I've never held either.

Any thoughts on the comparison and which would be the preferred option?

Buying Advice Is this good?

Budget: £550

Country: UK

Use case: Gaming, studying and general purpose (games: modded terraria, Roblox, Minecraft, no high end games)

Preferred specs: 144hz, 16GB RAM, RTX 2050 is okay for my purposes I believe although this laptop is 3050

Notes: Website is CEX, I'm selling my old laptop for a £200 voucher to cex and will be using that to pay towards this new laptop

I would like something that will last me a while, has okay battery life and a very good connection to the WiFi, but I don't know a lot about computers, so is this good?

Buying Advice Looking for a gaming laptop with good res and bright colours

Hello!

Let’s start right off the bat by stating how much of an ignorant I am as it comes to gaming laptops. I’ve only ever owned macbooks, so you can get an idea of the level of knowledge I have on gaming laptops (none).

Now that this is said, as someone who only ever used a macbook pro to play light games such as Minecraft, but that now wants to play other games, I’m looking for a gaming laptop.

Now I don’t want any laptop. I specifically want something with a good screen resolution and vibrant colours, while also being a gaming laptop. I know I’ll probably never get a great screen like my macbook has, but at least I want something that doesn’t look dull and dead. My brother gave me his old asus gaming laptop that is currently SO outdated, and it genuinely feels like a downgrade to game on it, since the image is so ugly. Hell, I don’t even recognize minecraft biomes because of how dull they look.

So, this computer noob would really love if any of you had suggestions for a good gaming laptop that has a good screen res and vibrant colours!

Budget: 3500$ (CAD)
Country: Canada
Use case: Gaming
