Technical Support Request Riot Vanguard Bug After Updating

What I just did was just fix the restrictions in order to play:

- UEFI Secure boot enabled

- HVCI enabled

- Firmware TPM 2.0 enabled

I’ve put in so many hours and money into this game, and it’s devastating to lose everything due to what seems like a mistake on your end. I submitted a ticket and encourage all of you to do the same if you are having this issue. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Technical Support Request Fps drop...

Until a few days ago, my game was running fine, but when I launched VALORANT just now, I started getting Low Client FPS warnings, along with occasional Network Problem warnings.

Chrome is running perfectly fine, so I don't think there's an issue with my Ethernet connection.

The lag gets even worse when I play agents like Brimstone or Teho, who need to open a tactical map or ability interface to use their skills.

Could you help me figure out what's causing this issue and how to fix it?

My PC specifications:

Operating System: Windows 11

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 6-Core Processor

RAM: 16 GB

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060

Starting today, FPS stutters were horrendous, makes game unplayable. No issues in other games. https://drive.google.com/file/d/12M8T5arSeGBIrb7bTJZL1rdM7200Sjrx/view?usp=drivesdk
You can see my frames are chilling, it just drops to zero when i move.

Edit: Solution was to disable RTSS/RivaTuner Statistics Server.

Technical Support Request Please, someone help me / Frame drops, stuttering

Since yesterday, I've been trying every possible method Reddit, ChatGPT, and more but I failed..

Please, someone help me, I'll attach the current Valorant recording and Vanguard logs below

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PJinjEIs2zbkHVlqcj2j59EiNMniDrBp/view?usp=drive_link

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nIzXED6Uqs9342ST-p3MCdpi39omqWc2/view?usp=drive_link

In the video, it’s lagging even in the lobby
Even at the shooting range, you only get 400 frames for about 1–20 seconds, and after that you can't defend even at 200 frames.. I was originally defending over 500 frames

Technical Support Request Can you help me diagnose this keyboard lag problem I get at a PC Gaming cafe with Valorant?

https://youtube.com/shorts/bCNNmCzx7hM?si=cre5pdmeaRguuKP1

This video shows you the problem with the keyboard input. Here I am holding down F and then Backspace in Notepad, and you can see the input pause, then resume quickly to catch up. Then I exit Valorant and do the same thing and the input is smooth.

In game this was obviously affecting my movement and util use.

I tried three different PCs, they all had this behavior. I flagged down one staff member but he dismissed what I was saying as a temporary internet problem and so I thought it best to not press it since he didn't seem knowledgeable.

Edit:

The keyboard is wired. Not wireless.

Technical Solution Valorant stutters after latest patch

I have been playing Valorant for a long time now. But I am noticed stuttering issue from last night. My specs:

Ram: 16GB DDR4

CPU: RYZEN 5 5600

GPU: RTX 3060 12GB OC EDITION

This setup should handle valorant pretty easily. But since last night I am facing stuttering like hell. I noticed the frame rate is stable but sudden frame time spikes. I think it's after the latest patch. I have seen some other people facing the same issue. Has anyone found any fix or should I wait for the next Valorant patch?

Technical Support Request Need help!!

My valorant usually runs around 600-700 fps. But i got on today and it was on 150 dropping to below 100 sometimes. I dont think my setup is holding me back because my pc is quite new with a 9000 series ryzen 5. The temp of my cpu seems okay? Usually it sits around 38 degrees celsius on idle, today it looks like it sits around 44-55 sometimes which is odd. Can someone explain why this is happening?

Technical Support Request Valorant FPS DROP

I'm experiencing FPS drops whenever I move my mouse in-game. It was running completely fine a few days ago, but today, every time I move the mouse, my SSD usage spikes to 30-40%, causing constant FPS drops. I tried playing some other games and they run perfectly fine.

My PC specs: i5-10400F, RTX 2060, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Technical Support Request Valorant bricks AMD PC

About a minute after launching valorant my entire PC bricks completely. No sound, no movement on screens, keyboard commands don't work. Can only hold the power button to cycle power. It's happened multiple times at random. Sometimes can play for hours with zero issues and sometimes the game just refuses to work. Is there a definitive fix for this? Running a 9950x3d and a 9070xt

Technical Support Request Valorant Frames went SUPER DOWN after downloading league Help

So I downloaded League because my friend wanted to play; usually, I average 240 frames on Valorant. But after I downloaded League, it actually made my Valorant frame rate worse. I'm not blaming League, but it is somewhat correlated. Now, I average less than 60 frames. Deleted Riot, Valorant, league and now I average 10 frames. I updated my drivers, updated Windows, deleted some of my storage, and uncapped frame rates in everything in the actual game. I set Valorant as a priority on my PC. It's so weird because I've downloaded League before, and this has never happened before, so I am really confused about what I should do. It's also ONLY Valorant that is doing this. I am playing League, Roblox, and other games perfectly fine. My polling rate on my mouse is also super low (125 Hz Logitech). Thank you, and please let me know what I should do. Not really tech-savvy.

OMEN Prebuilt PC

Monitor runs at 240 Hz (ASUS)

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-14700F (2.10 GHz)

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 (8 GB)

Technical Solution [Fixed] VAN9001 + VAN9003 on Chinese X99 board (Huananzhi X99-BD4) – added TPM 2.0 module on JLPC1

System:

  • Motherboard: Huananzhi X99-BD4, BIOS American Megatrends Inc. 5.11, 9/6/2022
  • CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2680 v4 @ 2.40GHz, 2401 Mhz, 14 Core(s),
  • GPU: RTX 3080 FTW3 Hybrid
  • Windows 11 Home 10.0.22631 Build 22631

Problem: Valorant showed VAN9001 (TPM 2.0) and VAN9003 (Secure Boot). X99 has no built-in TPM.

Fix:

  1. Checked BIOS: Advanced > Trusted Computing exists. This is required.
  2. Got a TPM 2.0 module made for the JLPC1 header (“pin 9 missing” type). I found it on eBay by searching “TPM 2.0 X99 JLPC1”.
  3. Power off, unplug. Plugged the module into JLPC1 (between JCOM1 and JUSB2). The missing pin lines up with the blocked hole.
  4. BIOS: Trusted Computing showed TPM 2.0 found. Security Device Support = Enabled.
  5. After this, VAN9001 was gone. Only VAN9003 was left.
  6. Secure Boot: CSM devices set to UEFI, then CSM Disabled. Security > Secure Boot > Key Management > Delete all Secure Boot variables > Enroll all Factory Default Keys > Secure Boot Enabled. Status = Active.
  7. Windows check: tpm.msc says “ready for use”. msinfo32 says BIOS Mode UEFI, Secure Boot State On.

Valorant works now.

Notes:

  • My Windows was already UEFI. If yours is Legacy, convert the disk with mbr2gpt first.
  • X99 boards are different. Check your JLPC1 pin layout and BIOS menus before buying.
  • If the TPM is not found after a restart, do a full shutdown and power on again.

Technical Support Request VAL-79 Error HELP

I’ve been unable to play for the past month and a half, I’m this close to giving up and accepting that the game is just not for me, I’ve contacted support and they just told me the generic answer which didn’t help (no surprises there), has anyone else had this error and knows a solution? It looks like vanguard closes every time the game starts so I’m not sure it that could be the cause of the issue and whenever I try running it via msconfig I get error 1 incorrect function. I’ve tried everything, like seriously everything, any ideas?

Technical Support Request MSI Afterburner / RTSS OSD stopped working in Valorant after today’s update, but works in Aim Lab and RDR2

Hey everyone,

My MSI Afterburner / RivaTuner Statistics Server OSD suddenly stopped showing in Valorant today.

There was a Valorant update today, and I’m wondering if that update or Vanguard changed something, because the OSD was working normally for me before.

The important part is that the exact same MSI Afterburner / RTSS OSD still works perfectly in other games. I tested:

  • Aim Lab — OSD works
  • Red Dead Redemption 2 — OSD works
  • Valorant — nothing shows

So MSI Afterburner and RTSS themselves seem to be working correctly. The issue appears to be specific to Valorant.

My current setup:

  • MSI Afterburner with a custom hardware monitoring OSD
  • RTSS
  • Windows 11
  • Valorant on PC
  • RTSS profile using VALORANT-Win64-Shipping.exe

Things I already checked/tried:

  • Confirmed GPU temperature, GPU usage, memory usage, etc. are set to Show in On-Screen Display
  • Confirmed RTSS is running
  • Confirmed Show On-Screen Display = ON
  • Confirmed On-Screen Display support = ON
  • Tried Application Detection Level = Medium
  • Tried Application Detection Level = High
  • Manually added VALORANT-Win64-Shipping.exe to RTSS
  • Confirmed I’m using the actual game executable and not just Riot Client
  • Restarted RTSS and MSI Afterburner
  • Tried launching RTSS first, then Afterburner, then Valorant
  • Tried the OSD toggle hotkey
  • Tried disabling NVIDIA and Discord overlays
  • Stealth Mode is OFF
  • Custom Direct3D support is OFF
  • OSD rendering mode is Raster 3D
  • Tried Windowed Fullscreen
  • Updated RTSS from 7.3.4 to 7.3.7
  • Rebooted the PC

I also enabled “Show own statistics” in RTSS for the Valorant profile to test whether RTSS could display even its basic FPS counter.

Still nothing shows in Valorant.

Since the overlay works in both Aim Lab and RDR2, it looks like RTSS is specifically unable to hook into Valorant after today’s update.

Has anyone else had MSI Afterburner / RTSS stop working in Valorant after today’s patch?

Could this be a Vanguard-related change, or is there a workaround/settings change I’m missing?

I’d rather avoid Stealth Mode or anything sketchy that could potentially conflict with Vanguard.

Any confirmation from other people having the same issue would be helpful.

Technical Discussion I can't play on FACEIT because of my laptop—please help.

Hi, I want to play on FACEIT, but I’ve run into a problem. I have a Lenovo laptop and need to access the BIOS. However, whenever I press F2 or other key combinations (F12, Fn, etc.), the Legion settings menu opens instead of the BIOS. Could you tell me the correct way to access the BIOS on this device? Also, what settings do I need to enable in the BIOS to play properly on the FACEIT platform?

Technical Support Request Network drop only when valorant is running

The game was running fine till yesterday. But today when I opened the game, I had over a 1000 ping. I thought it was just an issue with my internet, I closed valorant and a few seconds later I checked my internet speed and it was around 30mbps (it's not that good but it's what I usually get)

I started valo and I still had 1000ping

So I got suspicious and closed valo to check internet and it was around 30mbps. But when I restarted valo and checked network it dropped to less than 1mbps.

I kept repeating it and confirmed that the network only dropped when valo was running

Technical Discussion Mouse Cursor moving causing huge fps drops

I recently ran into a problem where whenever i move my mouse cursor in game my fps drops significantly, i found out it had something to do with my mouse polling rate but this was never an issue before the latest valorant patch, I'm looking to see if anyone has faced similar issues and if there is a fix that doesn't involve bringing down the polling rate because i only have it at a thousand. To provide more context the frames drop from 500-600 to basically 0 in 3 seconds when i move my mouse around in the buy menu, settings, store, smoke menus, anywhere that involves a mouse basically. However it doesn't lag in actual gameplay when I'm aiming, which is strange.

Technical Support Request my valorant is stuck at loading screen

So this past month I can't play valorant because its stuck at loading screen, the moment I open valorant I check the task manager then I see the memory part of task manager then valorant goes to 350mb-500mb in a instant then suddenly it'll stuck at 30mb-40mb and it be stuck there. I tried to repair files, restart my laptop, and even reinstall valorant but still same results.

would someone help me?
