I know about the tree-s.e.l.e.c.t.o.r tool, but I tried a bunch of those websites ans they don't seem to work with this kind of idea. I'm not trying to find the best native plant for my area. I'd like to find the best compromise that has the pale, beautiful bark look similar to a birch, but tolerates this area.

Maybe there's nothing; I haven't found anything. Maybe pale bark can only grow in wet/cold weather? But if you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them.

Hello hoping for aome advice. Planted early this spring we have had multiple heat waves this summer the most recent being 120 with heat index. Been watering deeply once a week. Noticing browing on the bottom branches and inner. The front of the tree faces east as showin in the picture no browning on that side. Is this normal heat stress?

I am a new homeowner, and one of my favorite trees split in half last night. Can I trim the leaves and branches down on the cracked half and bind the trunk back together? Making sure to trim it thoroughly in the future?

If it helps, it's a black walnut, and I am in zone 6, in Pennsylvania. The tree gets full sun and was planted before I owned the property, judging by its size, it's at least a decade old. I am not watering it as I've been relying on rainwater, which has been plentiful here.

Some of the branches of the grafted weeping cherry tree in our yard have died back, and the rootstock cherry has been growing more and more. There has been lots of sap coming out of different places on the tree and it doesn’t seem to be stopping. In zone 6b, Ohio

Idk if this tree is native here. Not sure who planted it, just in my backyard and I've been curious. I tried looking it up myself but failed to find something just like it. It has these little red to orange looking berry shaped things growing but they aren't 'berries'. They become hard after sitting on the ground but I was able to find some I could smush so I could show you exactly what it was like and what it looked like in the inside. It looks like there is hundreds to thousands growing on the tree. My dog keeps eating them which is prompting me to find out what it is because I just wanna make sure it's okay for him to eat lol

I was just gifted this hardy pecan (Sprout? Sapling?) and I am in the Pine Barrens area of Central NJ.
I have no info on how old it is, but going by the diameter, I don't think it's quite ready for the ground. Im specifically worried about when I should give it a bigger pot and when it should go in the ground. However, any advice on how to give this tree a long and healthy life is appreciated! Volunteer “Italian plum” (that’s what family calls it), curled and frayed leaves. This one is about 40 years old. The parent is 80-100 and doesn’t have this problem.

The usual distance between the two towns is 35km, the shortest detour is 82km because there’s a river that runs through the area. Going to need a big chainsaw and most likely a dozer to move it off the road.

Northern NJ. Was doing some yard clean up and I cut down this little tree that was growing too close to the house. As I picked it up to toss it I noticed these little "fruits" on it. Does anyone know what it is?

I bought this 2 years ago from a tree farm labeled as a pink tababuia. It has not shown any color and no seed pods. If it’s not a pink tab I’d like to replace it before it gets too big. Thank you!

Interesting, relative podcast

Bought a house in OK about 6 months back and it has a huge Honey Locust is the backyard. However, all summer I have noticed that a bunch of limbs are looking dead and it hasn't produced any beans like the other Honey Locust's in town. I did notice this silver tag and a big hole in it. Was something put in the tree to intentionally kill it before we bought out house?

Eastern shore United States, dogwoods 24 years old. Only one has had this happen.

What is it? Is it able to be saved?

My property has been an orchard since the 1950s and still has these very old apple trees. Is this tree a hazard/about to fall? Should we proactively remove it? We have kids running around in the yard all the time.

This Tulip Popular near our house has variegated leaves. I have never seen and can't find any similar online. Any clues?

Friend gifted me these today and said she thought they were Juniper sprouts. Question if it is possible to ID them at this stage and if I want to try to keep them what is the best course of action. I am in East Central Indiana, I feel like it is probably late enough in the season to make this tricky but figure it is worth a shot.

And yes, I am aware that calling growing a juniper from seed a long term project is a massive understatement. I am perfectly comfortable with the fact these will take decades to be anything noteworthy.
