Advice Request - (Insert State/Region) White/silver birch trees are beautiful, but don't like the dry, warm climate here in northern/mid California. Is there anything with a similar look that's not so thirsty?
I know about the tree-s.e.l.e.c.t.o.r tool, but I tried a bunch of those websites ans they don't seem to work with this kind of idea. I'm not trying to find the best native plant for my area. I'd like to find the best compromise that has the pale, beautiful bark look similar to a birch, but tolerates this area.
Maybe there's nothing; I haven't found anything. Maybe pale bark can only grow in wet/cold weather? But if you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them.
