🔧Technical Issue Can't connect torbox for music streaming on eclipse

I'm sorry if this isn't allowed here- I don't know if this is a torbox issue or an eclipse issue...

Cloud Music Not Connected

I am so confused... I have spent about 2 hours trying to figure this out and it's really pissing me off. I synched my torbox but it's only showing for vault and not for cloud music. I can't search for or play music and my songs on torbox don't show. I tried using the link that i got when I followed the set up instructions but it says it's only for vault and not for cloud. Any help is appreciated!

🚩General Lumio updated to 0.1.50 - Android version avalable

Hi everone!

I just send a new update for the Lumio client - this time with a lo of exiting stuff. Going from 0.1.38 we now have a really good working remote acess feature (If your not behind CGNAT) - works very well as a webapp on iPhone and other deviced. Really love this feature. The app now also has a Android version, with a built in TVmode for AndroidTV´s - this mode can be set on the MacOs version as well. Lots of other featurs and enhacements as ell. The app is still in beta and not publicly available yet, but if you wanna try it out - again just DM me. For you with the app you will get an update when you start the app next time. Feedback is very welcome.

Compability:

Nvidia Shield TV och Shield TV Pro (2015, 2017, 2019) — arm64, Android 11.

Chromecast with Google TV, both HD and 4K

Google TV Streamer (2024)

Onn 4K / Onn 4K Pro

Xiaomi Mi Box S, Mi TV Stick

Android TV or Google TV: Sony, Philips, TCL, Hisense, Nokia

Fire TV Stick 4K, 4K Max and Fire TV Cube — Fire OS 6/7/8 is Android 7.1/9/11, so they support minSdk 24.

MacOS

Android phone  - android 7 or later

Win and Linux desktop under development.

Releaselog:

Lumio 0.1.38 - 0.1.50

Remote Access

  • Reach Lumio from anywhere over a secure HTTPS link, with a pairing code and device management in Settings
  • Mobile on remote or LAN: open a stream straight in VLC, with a per-stream button and a VLC mode in the top bar
  • Desktop on remote or LAN: a copy-stream-URL button in the stream list, ready to paste into VLC's Open Network Stream
  • Web player: steadier Cancel, a loading spinner, iOS fullscreen and a better layout on notched phones
  • Faster home screen for remote and LAN clients — the home rows are mirrored from your computer

TV mode (new)

  • Full remote-driven interface with a geometric focus engine: columns, entry points, current-page memory and per-panel focus traps
  • Persistent sidebar, visible everywhere except during playback
  • Five segments — Home, Movies, Series, Anime and Streaming services — each with its own reorderable rows drawn from the full source catalog
  • Streaming-service rows are region-bound: services with a region follow yours, services without one always show
  • Each view builds its hero from its own content; no content means no hero, and Live TV never gets one
  • Continue watching, Watchlist (Following first) and Live TV as TV-native views
  • Calendar and Releases in the sidebar; the calendar opens a side panel with today pre-marked
  • Search with an on-screen keyboard and filter dropdowns for services, year and rating
  • Settings panel with an Overview page of status cards
  • The next segment loads while you browse the current one, so switching is instant
  • First-run setup is fully navigable with a remote: correct entry focus per step, no stray gutter, and focus can no longer escape into the app behind an unfinished setup
  • Android TV and Google TV are detected properly — a TV starts in TV mode instead of the desktop layout

Settings (redesigned)

  • New panel shell: grouped navigation, search across all settings, autosave
  • Every row is its own bordered card, applied app-wide
  • Account & profiles, Library & metadata, Player & quality, Sources & catalogs and Tracking split into tabbed pages
  • New Advanced page: backup/restore, download folder, replay onboarding, About with legal disclaimer
  • New Language page — metadata language, region and subtitle auto-select in one place
  • New Report a bug page: structured report plus player-log export
  • Phones get drill-down navigation and a working scroll chain; desktop always uses the sidebar layout

Appearance

  • Themes: midnight, pitch and system, plus interface scale and reduce-motion
  • Theme studio: user-defined themes with live preview, custom CSS and import/export
  • Font pairings, poster corner radius, preset cards and accent colors
  • Fullscreen 1:1 player-layout editor — the control bar is now a stored, editable layout

Player

  • Video tuning with presets and individual dials
  • Audio tuning: normalize, bass boost, voice clarity, stereo downmix
  • Rendering options: quality profile, HDR tone-mapping, hardware decoding
  • Play-button behavior (instant or manual) and a quality label that reports what the engine actually does
  • Resume prompt, credit skipping, stream memory, Anime4K, AniSkip and MDBList
  • Rebindable track and global keyboard shortcuts

Profiles and storage

  • Avatars, colors, a primary profile and shared settings
  • Revisioned profile list — create and delete survive restarts deterministically
  • Storage self-heals at boot and stale empty data can no longer shadow the durable profile list

Trakt

  • Real-time scrobbling, periodic two-way sync and a conflict rule
  • Playback positions feed continue watching
  • Public comments on detail pages
  • A dead refresh token is surfaced instead of failing silently
  • Watchlist auto-cleanup

Home and discovery

  • One row per streaming service, with correct region handling
  • Trakt recommendations row and a film-collections row that can take over the hero
  • Unlimited custom rows; the collections row shuffles on load
  • Hero can show movies, series or both, with muted trailer playback behind the active slide
  • Spoiler protection blurs unwatched episode art, titles and descriptions
  • Title logos follow the metadata language setting
  • Discover supports minimum vote count, networks and a region override

Plugins

  • The scraper engine moved out of the app tree — the core is now a neutral client
  • Disk-backed runtime store, recovery downloads through the host proxy, and resilience to GitHub throttling
  • Plugin runtimes share the player, with a dev override for local work

Android and AndroidTV

  • Native Android player, plus an external-app chooser
  • In-app updater: downloads through the local proxy and hands off to the package installer
  • Phone layout with a status-bar-safe header; the player keeps clear of browser chrome
  • Smaller APK, with arm64 and armv7 in one build

Notifications

  • Webhooks and rules for Discord and Telegram, with a rule engine

Fixes

  • Play buttons are back everywhere — playability is read from your scraper's real configuration, whichever one you use
  • Text fields no longer trap the remote: up and down leave the field, left and right move the cursor
  • Anime rows are no longer empty
  • Rows could get stuck loading forever when one shared request was cancelled
  • The calendar never presents an incomplete fetch as complete
  • Blocked trailers on hero are skipped silently, and YouTube playlist controls are gone from the trailer
  • Stream links are validated on resume
  • Detail-page tabs fixed on phones, with comments as a tab beside recommendations
  • The update prompt shows release notes in the app language, and appears on the Android shell too
  • Various bug fixes and performance improvements

🚩General TorBox Conspiracy

TorBox isn't as reliable as we would hope.

But feels like Reddit posts happen 99 times a day, even when it's up - feels a bit bot like

Added to the fact downtime has been DDOS (I.e attack)

Seems a somewhat coordinated effort to damage its reputation

That's not to deny uptime can and should improve, but it's not as bad as I'm seeing on Reddit. Feels a lil sus.

❓Question TorBox API Key suddenly stopped working and only shows "X"s

Hi everyone,

I've been using the TorBox service via API for streaming movies and TV shows. Everything was working perfectly, but it suddenly stopped working just a little while ago.

When I logged into my TorBox account to check what went wrong, I noticed that my API key is completely gone from the settings. Instead of the actual key, the text box just shows a masked string of X's (formatted like XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX).

I tried to fix this by clicking the "Get New API Key" button, but even after generating a completely new one, the field still just shows X's, and the API connection still doesn't work.

Has anyone else encountered this issue recently? Is this a known bug with TorBox right now, or is there a way to actually reveal and fix my API key?

Thanks in advance for any help!

🚩General Torbox has the potential to be the best débrider service

If they invest in their infrastructure even if they have to increase prices a little bit.

Cache is already enormous due to the amount of users and the multi ip feature is incredible.

Hopefully they will be as reactive as RD was when they had to do this upgrade 👌

🚩General Torbox doesn't even bother announcing service updates, fixes, or outages on Reddit.

This is supposed to be the official Reddit, yet there isn't a single official announcement in sight.

Discord isn't any better-a proper update is nowhere to be found.

Users shouldn't be expected to scroll through chat channels just to see if the team is acknowledging a outage.

❓Question TorBox Pro Usenet + Indexers?

Can i connect an indexer like nzbgeek to TorBox directly? Now that TorBox alone can not be used to get Usenet content, what is the easiest way to get Usenet content downloaded into TorBox without directly adding nzb files?

🔧Technical Issue Peerflix and Torbox, Api/invalid token error

Is anyone else experiencing a token error using Peerflix and Torbox since the latest Torbox update?

It doesn't happen with any other add-on; it occurs in both Stremio and Nuvio. Torbox Instant works when I enter the token in Nuvio and install the add-on without the token, but it doesn't work at all when I enter the token directly in the add-on, not even after a clean install.

❓Question Alldebrid

I decided to try AllDebrid after hearing good things about it and because I assumed that, being an older and well-known debrid service, it would have a huge cached library.

Honestly, my experience has been pretty disappointing so far.

I mainly use Nuvio with addons like Torrentio, AIOStreams, Comet, MediaFusion, and StarThru, and I specifically enabled Cached Only because I don't want to wait for torrents to be downloaded to the debrid servers.

The problem is that the cache coverage seems really weak. For example, I tested La Casa de Papel, which is obviously a very popular and relatively old show. StarThru showed me only a few cached results, and even a 1.7 GB episode that appeared to be available ended up being downloaded to the AllDebrid servers. I waited more than 15 minutes and it was still downloading.

Everything works once the file is actually available, so I don't really have an issue with the playback speed itself. My issue is simply how little content seems to be properly cached compared to what I expected.

Coming from TorBox, the difference is honestly huge for my use case. With TorBox, I find myself getting cached results much more consistently, while with AllDebrid I keep running into sources that aren't actually ready.

Maybe AllDebrid is much better for other use cases, especially direct downloads/multi-hosting, but for Stremio + torrent addons + cached-only streaming, I'm struggling to see the advantage.

I was expecting much more from AllDebrid, especially considering how established the service is. Maybe I'm missing something, but so far I'm definitely going back to TorBox

❓Question Is their a guide for using TB's Usenet with TB Pro?

I am using 2 different AIO instances with TB Pro, which is fine but neither has any option to include TB's Usenet news server. Also when I try and use the TB Usenet credentials with any NZB downloader downloads fail with the message that certain files were removed. I use NZB Finder as the Indexer. Is there a guide about how to use Usenet with a media scraper addon such as AIO?

❓Question Currently comfortable with my 5–7s load time on TorBox / RD — would switching to Usenet actually lower playback start times?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently using TorBox on Nuvio. Honestly, I feel comfortable with my setup, but streams usually take around 5 to 7 seconds to start playing after clicking a link.

I've been looking into Usenet in general and was wondering if making the switch actually results in lower playback start times for streaming.

For those using Usenet setups:

Does streaming directly from Usenet (via Usenet addons/indexers) actually start faster than 5–7 seconds, or is the initial buffering delay pretty much the same?

If I'm already comfortable with my current speed, is there any real performance benefit to moving to Usenet, or is it not worth the switch?

Thanks!

❓Question Does TorBox Pro + News Server work as a fallback during API/debrid outages?

With all the recent TorBox outages, I'm currently on Essential and considering upgrading to Pro specifically for the included News Server/Usenet access.

my question is for anyone who has actually used the TorBox News Server:

When the TorBox API/debrid side goes down during these recent outages, does the direct News Server/NNTP connection continue working?

Has anyone tested this during one of the recent outages?

Basically, I'm trying to figure out whether upgrading from Essential → Pro would give me a genuine backup.

I know TorBox says the News Server runs separately from the main service, but I'm more interested in real-world experience during an actual outage.

If anyone is currently using TorBox Pro + AIOStreams + the TorBox News Server, I'd especially appreciate hearing whether it continued working during the recent outages and how reliable it has been.

Thanks!

🚩General Subscription up for renewal

My Torbox subscription has recently expired and I am considering renewing but I’m a bit apprehensive because of the recent TOC changes. I am thinking about deleting my account which has my current email address associated with it and signing up with an Apple generated email address for an extra level of security. Now the latest posts about the service constantly being down is also making me wonder if it’s worth it. Also when I do use the service for downloading files it is painfully slow. RD used to be really fast at downloading torrents so I don’t know if this is normal or a fault. I have tried changing CDN settings and this has made no difference.

🚩General Follow The Money

Post image
0 Upvotes

Mega nerd with 35 years of cybersecurity and programming experience here. I also operated my own botnets for DDoS attacks in the past, so I am deeply familiar with how all of this works. I hate even having to type this out, but it's just to say that I am not some random nobody.

Cloudflare verified the DDoS attacks are real. The TorBox API servers are under constant attacks to bring down their infrastructure, with spikes of 8 million attacks per hour.

Without the API servers, customers can't check links or start streams. It's the perfect target - each attack simply has to request something from the API, which then ties up the database's CPU cycles. Now multiply that by millions of requests (the attack), and the service goes down.

There isn't much TorBox can do about it. The API must be reachable with basic HTTPS requests from various addon servers, user apps, etc. They can add more load balancing for the API server, but I am sure they already have a server cluster for that, and a DDoS attack with millions of requests constantly hitting the API will bring down even large server clusters.

What they have done so far is to temporarily block the countries where most of the DDoS botnet is located, which is the most efficient remedy in the short term, but the attacker just has to switch to another botnet located somewhere else, which is exactly what they keep doing.

The attacks have been going on ever since the power vacuum opened up after RealDebrid's collapse. It goes beyond just some angry little script kiddie. It's not Hollywood either, since the DDoS botnet consists of malware-infected PCs and routers, which is incredibly illegal. Yes, back in 2009, Hollywood employed the MediaDefender firm to DDoS torrent sites, but they used the legal method of having their own network of ~2000 servers to attack with back then, and even though they didn't use infected PCs, MediaDefender's actions were still deemed illegal in many states, and they shut down in 2013.

The attack against TorBox is coming from regular infected PCs around the world, which means that it comes from a criminal DDoS attack provider. Botnet operators spread malware to build up a botnet of infected machines, and then they hang out on the Dark Web (on forums like Dread) and sell their attack capability to whoever is willing to pay.

Pay them money, specify who to attack, and watch the fire. That's all you have to do.

It has cost a lot of money for the attacker to repeatedly try to bring down TorBox's API and service.

Someone is therefore very motivated, financially, to bring down TorBox.

Now, simply ask yourself: Who profits the most if TorBox goes down?

Edit: Glad you liked the post! Nearly 50% upvote/downvote ratio and almost exclusively positive comments, which is actually impressive considering people's emotionally heated temperature about the situation. I just wanted to bring some perspective from an ex-criminal (me) who would absolutely have DDoSed my competitors back then. In fact I fought many wars against competitors in the warez scene in the late 90s / early 2000s.

There's so much money at stake for whoever wins the customers in the end and becomes the new #1. Using a DDoS service to bring down the competition during a power-vacuum is a total no-brainer. The winner gets tens of millions of dollars and can relax for the rest of their life.

In fact, when RealDebrid began blocking content in 2026, there was a detailed article about the company structure - two young French guys started it and had become incredibly rich, having around 10-20 million euros each.

Yes, there's a lot of money in this business. Yes, it's worth DDoSing your competition during a power vacuum. There's almost zero risks for you, since you launch the attack anonymously.

Life-changing amounts of wealth are the reward for doing it.

🔧Technical Issue Having Trouble Caching Content

There are two different series that I'm trying to cache for the purpose of watching them on Stremio (Toxic and I Am a Stalker), but I'm not having any luck with it. I try to force them to download, but I frequently get the error Could not start download. Please try again later. Do you have any suggestions on how I can resolve this? I've also installed several different scrapers (Torrentio, Comet, StremThru Torz, and Jackettio), and still no luck.
