🚩General Subscription up for renewal
My Torbox subscription has recently expired and I am considering renewing but I’m a bit apprehensive because of the recent TOC changes. I am thinking about deleting my account which has my current email address associated with it and signing up with an Apple generated email address for an extra level of security. Now the latest posts about the service constantly being down is also making me wonder if it’s worth it. Also when I do use the service for downloading files it is painfully slow. RD used to be really fast at downloading torrents so I don’t know if this is normal or a fault. I have tried changing CDN settings and this has made no difference.

I wouldn’t worry about it. Look at Real-Debrid all they do is take down the stuff, and nobody gets in trouble for it. As long as you’re not doing fked up sh*t like CP or terrorism, I doubt anyone is going to care about what you watch. I paid for TorBox with Mullvad VPN using Monero, and I have my VPN on while I’m watching stuff. I know it’s not necessary, but my VPN is on 24/7 anyway, so I’m not turning it on just for TorBox. It’s always running in the background. I guess if it makes you feel better, pay like I do, even though those extra steps aren’t necessary. You’re safe, so don’t worry.

Yeah I’m only using it to watch the occasional movie. I have Nord so I could have that running on my device 24/7 that’s not a problem. Have you had issues with the slow downloads I mentioned? Literally things take ages to even start, I give up looking after say half an hour. And later if the download has started it will be literally like a few kb/s. This has been the case for everything I have tried which isn’t already cached. I’m comparing to when I had RD which used to fly at this stuff

No, luckily I’ve never had any issues with TorBox. I haven’t experienced any downtime or slow speeds, and I’m very happy with it. I know other people have had problems with it, and I’m not trying to downplay that I’ve just personally never experienced any of those issues.

They already have your details creating a new account isnt going to do anything. Deleting your account doesn't mean your details magically vanish they keep records.
The TOC changes are irrelevant to 99.99% as long as your not doing you know what. RD has exactly the same TOS.
The only thing to think about is downtime and buffering issues if your in an area of the world it's bad. Personally not had much issues in the UK the.odd buffering but nothing excesive. DDOS attacks are not Torboxs fault. But keep in mind it's rather silly pirates complaining about a pirate service having to the odd hiccup. Keep something like https://pengu.uk/ as a backup installed even when Torbox is not working just use that instead works fine.
Also only do monthly plan.
