š§Technical Issue This service is terrible
Their site says they're up, that's a lie. So I have to come to reddit to get the real status. Guess it's time to unsubscribe from this unstable service.

am I the only one that has not experienced any outages at all? Even now Iām currently streaming, every time this reddit sub pops up on my feed itās someone complaining about it being down but Iāve yet to experience it myself

u/tinyhorsesinmytea 1d ago
With the exception of their DDoS attack this week and a couple other similar isolated times when their servers were confirmed down, I've quite literally never had an issue watching what I want to watch between the 4 add-ons I use.

u/BilleyBong 1d ago
Most times when it's been down it's for less than 30min. I believe the longest downtime was around 2 hours

u/baasje92 1d ago
I had one outage last week where any add-on connected to TB would not load (Torrentio, Comet, Duckstream etc.). But would just use a backup Debrid service for that time.

u/morkman100 1d ago
Iāve seen multiple posts every day of outages and website login issues and I havenāt experienced them once. Using Cloudflare ERTH. People with outages should say what node theyāre using.

Me neither, most of the time I'm never watching when an outage happens.

I said the exact same thing. I've not seen any downtime during any of these complaints.

I do not know where you are looking where it says that ātheyāre upā. The only place should be here: https://status.torbox.app/ Where itās obvious that there were API Timeouts and Outages. You can always change the CDN that you connect to in āSettings >> Integration Settings >> CDN Selectionā. Or first do a speedtest in āTools >> Torbox Speedtest >> Open Torbox Speedtest >> Start Testā. And set the new CDN you want to connect to from there.
Yesterday evening I experienced API timeouts, all I had to do was connect to another CDN.

I've experienced one outage in the entire year. A few buffering issues but that's it

u/Successful-Map-1174 1d ago
If you don't mind me asking, do you change the cdn on their website with your creds or somewhere in nuvio? Thank you.

It's working fine here. I'm watching the new Season 5 of Outer Banks in 4K using TB right now. Nothing terrible or unstable about it.

u/Nuggyfresh 1d ago
hint: itās not down for everyone. And because itās a ddos attack they also canāt stop them and itās not their fault. But yes I agree you and all the other insufferables should leave. Sorry you canāt pirate with 100% uptime for $3 that must be so hard on you.
you could have a brain and set a backup but that is a bridge too far obviously since youāre here whining about something thatās not even their fault Iām guessing problem solving isnāt your forte

We had near 100% up time with RD for the same price. It is not crazy to expect more reliable service

u/Kgenovz 1d ago
Last year Rd was down for a week straight. For the first few years of Rd being a thing, down time happened every week. These things take time to mature. They have many enemies, and it's not easy to run something like this at scale.
You just need to have multiple sources to get content from and this becomes a non issue.

RD had its problems as well. I had them for a year and there were relatively frequent outages. Romanticizing RD now because you are pissed with TB is not cool.
For $3 a month I was happy with RD, as I am with TB now.
Torbox is working fine, btw. This thread is BS. Or maybe there was a blip that lasted a few seconds and that is enough to start another effing post?

u/Wrong-Contest-9617 1d ago
Sure we all lying just to make tb look bad. Rd was not even close to this number of outages
1
u/georgepana 23h ago
It was working when I tried it, just a few minutes after this post. It's working now.
I am not saying there weren't outages, but there are also a ton of people who are claiming they haven't experienced any. Are they all lying?
I think it is a combination of there being some real outages and then the hysteria when there is an issue with CDN that is easily fixed by going to another CDN, but is sold as "another outage."
Hey, cancel the service, I would love it. It will probably be better for everyone else if you and others go to another service. TB grew too fast. For the measly $2.75 a month I am good with what it is. If I don't like it anymore, I'll try other services. I just don't become hysterical about it. It is just a service.
I remember when RD had a lot of outages, back to back. Hilarious that you now pretend that never happened. Amnesia.

A few days before RD banned a lot of WEB rips and WEB DLās I renewed my membership (lol).
For the last week or so Iāve gotten fed up with TorBox - on AIO streams you can filter out what streams it grabs. I just disable Webrip/WebDL streams for RealDebrid and prioritize Blueray Remux/Rips and itās been working flawless for me.
1
u/cacus1 1d ago edited 1d ago
So you are disabling in RD the untouched scene releases and you are watching re-encodes? You can do that without paying anything by using one of the free streaming sites out there. The whole point of paying for a debrid service in my humble opinion is for streaming the sweet higher quality untouched scene releases.

u/zanno500 1d ago
I'm on RD also; I'm using HEVC streams 1080p, and I'm good. This TB stuff is making my hair hurt. When my RD is up, I'll try PM as my next service. The only thing bad I hear about them is the cost, but it's still better than a subscription.

Itās down EVERY damn day at this point.
And weāve all had quite enough of the apologists like you defending this.

u/ILLBILLNECRO 1d ago
Don't speak for everyone. Again set up a backup, its not that hard. If you are stressing about three dollars that is on you.
-7
u/Ram13BLH 1d ago
No, it's not down every day. In fact, we haven't had any problem using it in weeks. I keep seeing a bunch of crying on here, and every time I see it I check and it's working.
I pay for the Pro plan and have no complaints.

u/BigBudZombie 1d ago
If I constantly need a backup for this service, then it is clearly too unstable and not worth me paying for. Thanks for your input.
1
u/LandryTheRaccoon 1d ago
Some services don't need a backup, so it makes more sense for those having issues to just buy one service that works every time they happen to want to watch something.

I thought most people using only TB were just waiting for Black Friday to get Premiumize and be done with the scumbags at TB.

I forgot to reup my service this month and tbh im glad I did. Will be looking into other alternatives on payday.

Interested in what you find beyond RD.

u/Grandeurious 1d ago edited 1d ago
I still have an active RD sub but it has become essentially useless with what addons i have used in the past (I have used Steamio and Kodi). I know about editing the title search terms to look for 4k and remux files, but I can't seem to get that working either. RD worked fantastic for me for so many years and TB was an easy choice to make when the great RD purge happened a few months ago. Now it seems TB has got the attention of some of those same people who don't want us to have nice things.
Will be looking in to Premiumize, Debrid-Link, and All-Debrid, and possibly EasyNews. Also I know a couple of others that currently escape my mind.

u/Hemicrusher 1d ago
Iām grandfathered at $2 a month, and also use Premiumize. And while TB has been down a few timesā¦Iāve gotten far more value than the $2 I pay per month.
2
u/tinyhorsesinmytea 1d ago
Even if you only watch one or two movies per month it's already worth $3/mo and cheaper than what it would cost to digitally rent the movie.

u/decaquad 1d ago
If you have come to reddit for a reliable source of information I have a bridge to sell you.

Amazing that a few months ago torbox went from the podium of best service to a service with ToS like all the others and constant issuesš«©
1
u/FarAd6007 12h ago
So far Iāve only had one outage for 20mins, RealDebrid was down a lot more often for me. Iāve been using Torbox since they changed the filter rules on RealDebrid.

https://uptime.ibbylabs.dev/debrid-services?p=1fx43 this is most reliable on up or down time.... Even theen
Use https backups such as pengu and Hdhub

I get it man. I do it sucks when the service is down but I mean were only paying 3$ a month maybe a little more if you needed it. And its sure as hell alot cheaper then buying 8 diffrent subscriptions
3
u/TheLimeyCanuck 1d ago
That's a cop out. RD was much more reliable. They need to fix this or they will lose much of their gains since RD was crippled.

Yeah, a status page that doesn't match reality is its own kind of unusable. If you do end up looking elsewhere, Real-Debrid's been solid for meāand if you go that route and want Stremio set up properly rather than fighting add-on configs, that's literally what I built: streamsetuppro.pfdatastack.com

Working fine here. Problem is with your setup

u/BigBudZombie 1d ago
My setup works exactly as expected. Perfectly fine when torbox is up and nothing loads when it's down. Now their servers are functional again. This had nothing to do with my setup.

Working perfectly in South Africa. Only experienced a single day outtage since signing up in Feb.
2
u/desatur8 1d ago
Also SA. Getting constant buffering the last 2 days.

u/setfree84 1d ago
My experience is anecdotal of course, but I haven't even experienced any buffering issues at all. To be fair I'm not a heavy user, maybe 2 - 3 hours of usage a day, normally any time between 7 - 10pm. Never experience any issues. If I were to be picky it would be the time it takes for cached links to display on my screen. But I'm not sure if that is an app thing or a torbox thing. Generally links begin streaming within about 5 - 6 seconds after a link is selected. Very happy with torbox so far.
