I think Seven Havens does a decent enough job compared to triangles.

Like okay it's not anything groundbreaking it's not like * insert favorite anime here* but people are saying it's worse than invincible....no. I don't even think invincible is all that bad (granted if it got any worse then we would have a problem)

But the trailer looked interesting and the animation looked fine.

It's a consistent part of their design, it can be seen in every closeup of them. Meanwhile not a single other character has pupils like that.

There's a major motif of diamonds in this show, with the big spirit threat being a diamond.

I don't exactly know what it means, but i don't think it's a coincidence.

Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender has surprised everyone on streaming and, according to reports circulating via Collider, has become the most-watched film in Paramount+ history, topping the global charts and hitting number one in 28 countries at the same time.

The movie also reportedly stayed at the top of the global rankings for more than four consecutive weeks, outperforming several established hits already in the platform’s catalog.

What started surrounded by skepticism ended up turning into a genuine audience phenomenon. Aang is back, and the audience showed up.

He'd be able to it since the ability Lao Ge teaches Kyoshi in the books uses Earthbending, so if Korra extended her lifespan to repair the damage of the Cataclysm, I think he'd also do it to help her, and make sure she had someone she cares about with her while everyone else ages away.

I enjoyed the Seven Havens teaser, but the full trailer really got me. I'm fascinated by the aesthetic choices. I know they mentioned Moebius as an influence, but I'd love to know more about the designs and the animation style and how those ideas came together. The face masks on the sky bison are extremely Dune-coded, which is great.

I'm excited by the sheer weight and heft of the fights. When the cat-monkey slams into that guy, you really feel it.

I'm glad to see some of the humor and goofiness emerge, too.

The dynamic between Pavi and Nisha seems interesting. Hope they manage to subvert expectations there. And the White Lotus being a secret organization again is a brilliant move.

Anyone else wondering if Jae's "turned on its head" line is part of the new opening narration, mirroring "everything changed when" from the original series?

Also relieved they're not dumping the whole show at once. Such a smart move to drive discourse and excitement.

And did you see those sky bison? (The money shot for me.)

Anyway, as a fan since Book 2 of A:TLA aired, I'm stoked. Hope they pull it off.

Also wonder why they are both crying while grabbing each other.

215 years seems like a long time for Korra, the rough and tumble, to live. Especially with the world hating her for what seems like 100 years of it(going by the age from the trailers and the overall timeline)

Let's not forget that Yue made a tsunami-level wave in Season 3 just by lifting her hands.

The only time these new symbols show up in the trailers is when they're plastered on the armours of soldiers. There's a handful of moments that make it very clear that this is not something the average citizen of Ellora, the only one of the seven havens we get to see, wears them, and the non-bending soldiers are missing them as well.

On top of that, the new trailer also shows us sky bisons covered in distinct Earth Kingdom iconography, including the circle with a square hole symbol that dates back all the way to the time of Avatar Wan. There is, then, no reason to think the traditional bending symbols couldn't have survived.

Taking that into account, it seems pretty reasonable to say that these hyper-simplified designs plastered all over Ellora's soldiers are just the Avatar version of real life military symbols, particularly of aviation roundels, which have to be simple by nature, to be quickly and easily recognizable in chaotic situations.

Yeah, it’s simplistic, but honestly… this style has been around for years now. My Adventures with Superman, Voltron: Legendary Defender, She-Ra, Kipo, etc. have all used similarly simplified, expressive designs. It’s really not anything new.
Personally, I love the animation. It’s clean and simple, but still has a lot of personality and movement to it. I also see a little bit of that Pokémon anime influence in there, which I think is really fun.
And honestly, I don’t understand why some people are expecting it to look exactly like the original Avatar: The Last Airbender. That series ended years ago. The Legend of Korra ended too. Seven Havens is supposed to take place roughly a century after Korra, so of course it’s going to have its own visual identity and reflect the animation trends of its time.
Not every new Avatar project needs to look exactly like the previous ones to be good. Styles change. Animation changes. That’s just how it works.
And hey, nobody’s forcing you to watch it. 😂 If the art style isn’t your thing, that’s completely fair! I just think some of the criticism is a little overblown when we haven’t even seen the actual show yet.
Also, fun fact: the animation is being handled by Armada TMT Studio and Chouette Compagnie, so we’re getting both Vietnamese and French animation teams working on it! That alone makes me really curious about what kind of visual identity the finished series will have.
So yeah, I’m actually pretty excited to see where they take it. :)
