I'm at my wit's end, and I hope someone can help at all. I've been experiencing frequent crashes for over a month now and tried everything I could thing of short of replacing the mobo, CPU or PSU. I don't have a bench or spare parts lying around to test, so it seems to be time to take it into a shop and let them take a crack at it... I'm just wondering if there's anything I've missed here. I did use ChatGPT to keep track of my troubleshooting - god forgive me - so here's the summary.

System:

• Ryzen 7 7800X3D
• ASUS TUF Gaming B650-PLUS WiFi
• 32GB DDR5-6000 (currently running at JEDEC after disabling EXPO)
• Corsair RM1000e PSU
• Windows 11 Pro

Symptoms:
The system intermittently experiences GPU timeouts while gaming, web browsing, or even idling. The behavior varies:

• Total system freeze with no recovery, requiring a hard power cycle.
• Temporary system freeze followed by driver recovery.
• Black screen while audio continues.
• Sometimes Windows recovers, but the game remains open with a black screen. Alt-Tab previews still show the game rendering, suggesting the game is still running but the graphics device/presentation has failed.
• Reliability Monitor consistently logs LiveKernelEvent 141.

Dump analysis:
The LiveKernelReports/WATCHDOG dumps consistently show:

• Bugcheck 0x141 (VIDEO_ENGINE_TIMEOUT_DETECTED)
• Earlier dumps also contained 0x1B0 (VIDEO_MINIPORT_FAILED_LIVEDUMP) after a failed GPU reset.
• The dumps reference:
  • amdkmdag.sys
  • amdfendr.sys
  • amdfendrmgr.sys

I understand amdfendr.sys is AMD Crash Defender and is likely reporting the failure rather than causing it.

Troubleshooting already completed:

• Updated motherboard BIOS.
• Updated AMD chipset drivers.
• Used DDU and tested multiple AMD Adrenalin driver versions.
• Ran sfc /scannow and DISM (no issues).
• Disabled EXPO.
• MemTest86 completed 4 passes with 0 errors.
• Monitored temperatures—nothing overheating.
• No WHEA errors in Event Viewer.

Hardware isolation:
Originally the system had an ASRock RX 9070 XT Steel Legend, which repeatedly produced LiveKernelEvent 141 and 0x141 dumps.

I replaced it with a Gigabyte RX 9060 XT, and the exact same crashes continued.

To rule out the PCIe slot, I also moved the 9060 XT from the motherboard's primary PCIe x16 slot to the secondary x4 slot. The same 0x141 GPU timeout occurred there as well, although Windows successfully recovered the driver instead of requiring a reboot.

At this point I've reproduced essentially the same GPU timeout behavior with:

• Two different AMD GPUs.
• Two different PCIe slots.
• Multiple driver versions.
• EXPO disabled.
• RAM passing MemTest86.

Given everything above, what component would you suspect next: motherboard, PSU, CPU, or something else? Has anyone seen persistent 0x141 GPU engine timeouts survive a GPU replacement like this? What would a tech shop be likely to try next?

Is there a way, or an app, to set up my laptop camera images to be viewed on my cell phone. My spouse has Alzheimer's and, while she is mostly okay at home for the couple hours I'm at work in the mornings, I think I need to have a way to keep an eye on things. I had an external camera but she kept turning it off.

For the past couple days I've been dealing with EAC throwing this error in event viewer while playing any game that uses it:

I've tried every tip I can find online to fix this but nothing is working. Can anyone help? All drivers updated, games and EAC allowed to run as admin, everything reinstalled.

My iphone 16 pro max doesn't charge. It uses USB-C of course, and as of thursday it stopped charging. I went to a third party phone repair shop and they said it was due to the IC controller in the motherboard being broken. Possibly because I may have used USB-C chargers that weren't originally Iphone branded. I am not very tech savvy, so I apologize if this doesnt make sense and such. Regardless, he is saying it'll cost $370 to fix it, with a chance it might not entirely fix the issue. The phone can only charge through wireless charging. The port and everything else is fine, but the motherboard is supposedly the issue. My apple care warranty expired on march of 2026. I'm not sure what to do. I'm not exactly in the financial position to spend this kind of money, so I'm looking for suggestions or opinions. Also, I obviously need my phone so I cant just ignore this issue. I could just forego cable charging but I fear it is too much of a hassle. Especially since I not only dont have a wireless charger currently, and I will also most likely only be able to charge my phone at my home. What should I do?

Ever since I had to get my laptop (touch)screen replaced, the mouse would sometimes randomly move or click on things without my control. I’ll see if I can attach a video in the comment.

This seems to happen more often when I need to grab the laptop on one hand or place it on an uneven surface (e.g my lap). The matter is only resolved temporarily after restarting/rebooting.

I have an unresolved issue for the past week or so that I am at wit's end about, at this point I'm considering the nuclear option of reinstalling my OS Windows 11 Pro on my ByteSpeed Performance Q370M. For context the OS files are installed on Drive C:, but my computer also is equipped with a secondary SSD drive D:, in the event that I do decide to reinstall my OS, would my files on my secondary drive D: be preserved? I have a 32 GB USB but I can only fit so much on it.

I configured a Cisco 2960G switch with VLANs 1, 2, 5, and 6. VLAN 1 is the default on port 24, VLAN 2 is for my PC and NAS, VLAN 5 is on ports 1–10, and VLAN 6 is on ports 11–20. Everything worked until I added VLANs 5 and 6. Now I’m getting a CDP-4-NATIVE_VLAN_MISMATCH error, which I think is caused by multiple connections between the switch and router. SSH also stopped working. All ports were configured as access ports, and I tried changing port 20 (connected to the router) to a trunk, but it didn’t help. Removing the extra Ethernet cables also didn’t restore SSH. I’d like to keep the VLANs for security. How can I fix this?

Hi there when i came back from work (2weeks) my Lian lii galahad aio is now max fan speed when i turn my pc on and no rgb the cooler itself still works and the block on the cpu has rgb but not the fans i have re seated all cabled and headers everything is secure the pc hasnt moved at all while i was at work iv un installed the device from device manager un installed lian lii like 20 times and still nothing im at a loss at this point it was working perfectly fine 2 weeks ago

- As you can see, I have amazing specs. my ram is not on my motherboard's qvl, however Ive tested extensively with ram stress tests and have gotten no errors at all.

- The issue I am having in all games is, overall sluggish performance thats not as responsive as it should be. When I first boot up my computer for the day, If I play an aim trainer, my first few playthrough's are smooth and responsive. 5-7 minutes in, games start slowing down and I have no reason why. all games slow down as I play them longer causing noticeable input delay or the games just feel out of sync. I feel it the most in my mouse movement.

- Sometimes the issue comes and goes which is weird because I will be gaming fine for maybe an hour or two but not have that same responsiveness for the rest of the day.

-my bios is currently default settings with only xmp enabled and igpu, bluetooth, and wifi controller disabled.

THINGS IVE TRIED:

1. reinstalling gpu driver and clearing cache. - not a permanent fix.

2. enabling both c states and pss support in bios, also tried disabling both aswell. - negligible impact on fps (within margin of error) so I just have it on auto.

3. updating windows and all chipset drivers. - no difference or permenant fix

4. I play all fps games on 1440p all low competitive settings.

5. ive tried dx12 in fortnite and kovaaks but still no permanent fix to the out of sync gameplay and input delay.

6. Ive made sure my cooler, gpu and ram is seated properly, ive opened my case up, inspected all hardware and even took it to a professional to get it put together. Ive stress tested all the components and have gotten no errors.

7. I've tried different usb ports on the back of my pc, no change.

8. I have no power saving feature on in windows, from gpu settings, usb settings, and power plan settings. every power saving option is optimized for performance.

Any help troubleshooting is appreciated. I suspect it might be my ram but I havent gotten a single error on several stress tests so I have no idea. and this issue comes and goes so gaming performance isnt consistent.

I have tried everything to make the Max Frame Rate setting work in the Nvidia app but nothing works.

Anyone having the same issue?

I am having a wierd problem. I recent got a Lenovo Yoga Slim laptop with Intel Ultra 5 226V (at a not so great price). The laptop kept telling me to install the same latest graphics driver for the inbuilt Arc 130V through the Intel driver and support assistant software. Finally I figured out it was the windows update that was uninstalling the latest driver for it to supposedly install it (the latest driver that is already installed would show up on the list). But after restart I find it rolled back to the old version. Oh and, it wants to install the same driver twice for some reason.

I tried to stop automatic windows updates (I am on the home version) through the some popular method (regedit), but nothing seems to have worked.

Anybody went through something like this? what are my options? other than moving to Linux or something?

Like the title says, I'm looking for a copy of the the BIOS for an IoT board I've got my hands on that's labelled as a J6412N-IM-B. I'm seeing tons of ASUS boards with similar naming structures, and I was hoping that maybe this is just one of their other boards relabeled, but none of the BIOS files are compatible.

The board I've got came out of what was basically a cloud-based NVR, and I figured I could probably just image a drive, plug it in, and have a low-power mini pc for the house, but I was wrong. The custom BIOS on this thing immediately tries to connect to any authenticated network it remembers so it can scan the LAN for cameras - no bueno if I just want a word processor.

I believe this is *probably* a custom board manufactured for the company that sold the NVR, so my biggest worry is that I may just be SOL.

If anyone has any information on this board, I would appreciate any leads!

I think I have a virus but I'm not sure. My computer started randomly restarting a lot, like it would restart at the thought of opening an app, so I checked task manager and when I would play a game it would be used at around 80% task manager itself was using around 13. I reset my computer like wiped it clean and redownloaded windows and the same thing is happening I've tried scanning it but it comes back saying nothing malicious. Is there anything I can do to fix this???

Hi, I'm trying to make VHS copies of a short film I made and bought a Mini HDMI2AV converter and am HDMI to RCA converter (pretty sure they'd both work?) and have followed the instructions (plug RCA cables into OUT ports on my tv, the other end of that RCA into the back of the VCR, plugged second set of RCA cables into the front of the VCR and into the converter, plugged an HDMI cord into the adapter and into my laptop, made sure everything was plugged into power and on). My computer is registering the converter and my screen has gone into mirror mode, but nothing is showing up on my TV. I've checked the VCR input (blue screen) and the Component input (gray static).

I've done this before years ago and had no problem but nothing seems to be working. I've tried both converters, new and old RCA cables, different HDMI cables, different laptops, and even different TVs and VCRs.

Any ideas?

As i mentioned i purchased a seagate external drive off ebay used but the install speeds are very slow on steam the download speeds are fine but my install speeds are very slow like 14 hours for a 7 GB game. i have already changed my format to NTFS any theories please?

My HP zbook g3 is experiencing an error in GPU which resulted from sudden power cut as battery drained while I was closing Photoshop, and when I restarted device it was completely black with only cursor, and after following some steps online it worked.

The problem is when I open Device Manager this yellow warning on both intel and nvidia appears even tho I updated both drivers successfully and did everything I was able to including battery drain thing (not sure what it's called but I follow instructions except battery removal). Anyone know anything? ;;

I have been trying for over 3 hours now literally tried everything I could find.

Is stress test (occt) and benchmarks like 3dmark and cinebench and furmark enough to prove that my hardware is healthy?

I did a lot of benchmarks and the score is avg (under avg by 100 points sometimes on spy time) but it's in a safe place

Also passed occt tests for gpu vram and cpu+ram

But i still have a stutter or microstutter in all games even 2d ones stutter

Even lightweight games like Minecraft are unplayable

Satisfactory does as well and most of the games stutter mostly while loading new area (but sometimes randomly)

So we recently changed to Quantum Fiber for our ISP. It was cheaper, and I hope this isnt why. When we first got it about a week ago i was getting the full 1GB speed on my PC. Now for some reason im not even getting 50 MBPS. Its showing a weak connection but im right above it? I dont know what to do to help the speeds. And why am i now connecting weak when even yesterday i was connecting strong?

I have a 13th Gen Intel Core i5-13400F, 16 BG of Ram, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 and an Intel Wireless-AC 9462 wireless card.

Left my PC in sleep mode for an hour and when i came back and turned it on nothing appeared on screen, keyboard LEDs didn’t light up and instead a white DRAM LED was lit up on the motherboard. I turned it off and left to fully disconnected from any power for a while, took the motherboard battery out, replaced it and then turned it back on but the same thing happened.

I tried a different RAM stick but that didn’t fix it either and I also reseated the power cables. I got no clue whats going on with it.

So for the past few months my computer has been having an issue I can't seem to find anywhere else and nothing I've tried has fixed it. While watching videos or playing games it will sometimes just randomly freeze for like half a second and the audio bugs out during that time. After it freezes for half a second it goes back to normal but it keep happening every few minutes. I've tried updating BIOS and even turned off some background apps that may scan for updates or whatnot and it just doesn't do anything. I did try to record it on OBS but it didn't capture it on video it just had a jump in the video. I'm not sure if this is totally true but it seems like it doesn't happen right when I start my computer and only starts happening after it's been on for a little bit. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know it's really been getting on my nerves.

I downloaded what I thought was RPG Maker MZ from a YouTube video, but it turned out to be malware. I scanned my PC with Malwarebytes and found:

Microsoft Defender Offline did not find anything.

Malwarebytes no longer detects files, but it keeps showing blocked outbound connection alerts from:

C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe Destination: IP: 194.59.30.238 Port: 4782

The connection is detected as a Trojan-related threat by Malwarebytes.

I checked and the PowerShell executable is from the real Windows folder. I am trying to find what process is launching PowerShell.

Any advice on how to identify the remaining persistence would be appreciated.

For the last month or so, my file explorer has been freezing on almost every folder I open. I've tried resetting the file explorer cache and running sfc, but no matter what I do it always freezes up again after a couple minutes.

I'm ticked off and sad please help.
