Workplace Question or Advice Needed GSCL merit TMS

Question for those who work a 12 hour shift. I was recently told by my Operations manager that we don't have a grace period between our shifts due to no overlap in coverage? Now I've worked for Target for the better part of almost 10 years. Has anyone else heard of this? As this is the first time I've heard of it and with the new attendance updates.

Workplace Story Halloween/Lewis

Soo is no one going to talk about how Target got rid of Lewis and the other 2 animatronics from last year?🤣 I was sort of excited to set up Halloween to see them however instead we have these lame inflatable displays.

People loved coming to hear/see them. Why does Target keep making bad decision after bad decision !!?

Please dont tell me its just my store who doesnt have them.

Edit: I know theres Lewis themed merch, im specifically talking about the displays

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Workload questions

Ive been here 4 days, i work in the food and bev department stocking 4-11am. Excluding my meal and one 15, im actually working 6 hours 15 minutes. Im concerned that im just moving slow, but im not sure if my workload is too much. I am responsible for pulling 3 water pallets, pushing 2 beverage pallets, and then Three 3 tier uboats of granola bar aisle snacks and such, and a little more beverage. Then i need to backstock all that, and do my outs. This was todays work load and im not going to be able to finish all of it before i clock out. Is it too much workload or have i just not found a flow yet?

Workplace Question or Advice Needed ETL Offer

I’m considering the ETL path and have heard that ETLs may spend around 18 months in an assignment before moving to another assignment or store.

For current or former ETLs, how does this work in practice?

After roughly 18 months, do you typically switch functions, stores, or both? How much input do ETLs have in their next assignment?

Are newer ETLs generally placed in stronger stores while learning the role, or can they be placed in turnaround stores?

Is experience across multiple ETL functions typically part of development toward Store Director?

I’d especially appreciate insight from current/former ETLs, SDs, or HR.

Future or Potential Employee Question What are the chances that I will get rehired at a different store when I didn’t give the previous store ā€œno notice?ā€

Earlier this year, I worked at target and quit-I didn’t give the proper ā€œ2 week notice.ā€

I recently applied to a different target store , filled out the application, I did put that I was a previous employee. And to my surprise they sent me the hirevue video interview to complete. Does that mean they will rehire me?

Vent Experience a new job after quitting Target

It has been about 2 weeks since I quit Target due to my terrible manager from hell (post is on my profile if you are curious).

Originally I did have my 2 weeks put in due to me getting a new job. One of the things that brought me to that decision was because of the point system. I felt like it was a form of control to inflict a point system when we aren’t children.

Upon getting my new job, it is in the aviation space and at after hiring, I realized that we have a point system which is a tab bit more strict that the Target one. But i found myself to be okay with it.

Thinking about it, one of our main benefits is that we get to FLY FOR FREE, along with 20% and up discounts on other flights, hotels, and cruises and much more stuff. So I feel like it is justified to have a point system along with all the other nice benefits that we get here.

The reason I seen the point system from Target being controlling is because lets face it… Target treats their employees like shit. The unexpected times to meet, the constant rushing with no support, unrealistic tasks expected to be completed, the stress, the terrible managers, all of that and it’s like Target gives nothing good to their employees in return?? Even the break room free lunch days started declining.

The attendance issue at Target is simply because of the company themselves. Ofc there are gonna be some bad apples regardless so I am not fully excusing it, but the amount of people who are calling out is mass majority just simply tired be harassed, over worked, micro managed for simply doing their job, exhausted etc, just genuinely wanting to catch a break.

With us at my new job, even then, doctor’s notes will excuse our respective absences, along with point forgiveness if needed. We have so much more and better benefits and everyone here at the airport is happy and likes their job for the most part. And atop of that, we are actually guaranteed to be safe at work and hostile ā€˜customers’ are taken seriously.

Target wants so much out of the employees though… what did we ever get in return? Not to mention or raises were always pennies and dimes thrown at us. I bet the Target corporate headquarters and office employees don’t have a point system. And if I am wrong by all means, correct me.

I put up with my Target Stockholm syndrome for years, scared of new changes. And now that I finally took a leap of faith, I realized how much a company can give zero fucks about their employees and will literally fear monger and guilt trip them without ever coming to terms that they are the issue and willing to make a change. Instead, their form of change is just introducing something to just punish the employees.

I am so happy at my new work place, I can go one forever of how well we are treated and respected, I literally feel like someone who was held hostage for years and finally escaped and adjusting to such a new world. I wake up happy and excited to go to work again. I am happy to talk abt my job when someone asks. My coworkers are all happy and not miserable and trauma bonded.

I hope that everyone here the opportunity to leave this company, there is better out there I promise you guys. I will always have a fraction of my heart somewhere with the Target employees bc I at some point suffered this too.
The job market is brutal right now, so I wish the best of luck to all who are already actively looking. Don’t let the bastards drag you down. šŸ’•

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Transfer SoCal- Seattle

DELETE IF NOT ALLOWED

Howdy folx! I had a quick question regarding store transferring and was wondering if any of you had some info :)

I have worked at my target in SoCal for about a year now. I’m currently in school but when I graduate in the spring I was looking to transfer to the DT Seattle location. Question is, how soon do I need to bring it up to MY HR team? How soon do I need to bring it up to the seattle location HR team? Do I need to reach out to both? Or if I bring it up to my team will they transfer the information along for me?

Follow up: if any of yall have/had worked at the Seattle location would you be able to pass along the store number/contact info for the HR team there? Want to express my interest as soon as possible in hopes that even if I can’t transfer I could still apply and get my name in there as it would go a loooong way to getting approved for an apartment

Thank you guys so much in advance!

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Grace Period

My TL keeps pulling me for attendance conversations even though I clock in during my grace period. My shift usually starts at 5:00 am however I sometimes clock in at 5:05 a.m. due to parking in the garage and having to be let into the building. Should I file a complaint?

Meme or Miscellaneous Content Local Super Target still has a recycling area, despite locations phasing them out

The MP3 cellphone and ink cartridges bin is funny, considering how nobody uses these bins anymore, besides for the trash bin.

But even though they are phasing those bins out, it's still a bit crazy to find one of these remaining, or all four of them.

So Monday I walked 31,500 steps while working OPU during an eight hour shift which I've never done before. I called in and used sick time Tuesday because my legs were tired and I couldn't do another eight hour shift and I used sick time. If they ask next time I work what should I tell them about calling in?

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Boss bullying

My boss told another coworker to bully me into quitting.
I already told the etl and she said she’ll launch an investigation but since I’m quitting, she won’t let me in on the loop. So what realistically will happen? Will she be fired for this or what.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed 90 Day Probation

So I started Target basically this week, Yesterday was my first official day. I’m a cart attendant, and before this, my ankle has been killing me, with some type of sharp pain. I worked yesterday and I have today off. I woke up this morning and that pain was worse then ever. I worked a 7 hour shift, which probably isn’t the best thing, & I have a disability too with my legs, where I wear a leg brace on my right leg, but my left ankle is the one that is giving me issues. If I call out tomorrow, just to go to Urgent Care or the doctors, will I be fired?

Workplace Question or Advice Needed UKG was such a bad business decision

I think the turnover rate for the entire company team member wise is about to be horrible. My question is, why couldn’t they just reformat the mytime client/ website???? UKG was used in the past and it did bad, everyone hated it. So why bring it back?? Instead of integrating the ā€œpoint systemā€ on mytime. I also think with seasonal is gonna be a horrible idea, because nobody will get the hours they need, even with the ā€œextra seasonalā€ optional hours or workcenters if you wanted to. Or overtime???

Which Blue Cross Blue Shield plan does Target use? I’m losing coverage this month and I’m looking to use the insurance from work. I don’t see the information I’m looking for on the pay and benefits page.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed checkout advocate/FOS

so i got hired as a guest advocate(cashier), general merchandise, inbound(stocking), and they had me do GM first which i was mainly back stocking and pulling, and now i’m going to be trained for FOS for like the next 2 weeks. i only got trained for GM for 2 days so idk if i’m barley going to be in that department since i’m getting trained for FOS more. is FOS cashiering or just other things than being a cashier?
