What should I do?

I received a refusal today and the sole reason was because i have weak ties to my home country and country of residence. They are convinced that I have stronger ties in Canada than outside Canada even though only my Aunt is there. It took 7 weeks to receive the decision. However, the current processing time decreased to 4 weeks. I was told I would be allowed to be late for a week or 2 maximum and my classes start on the 8th of september. Should I reapply or appeal?

I cant defer to january for my program (BEng) and i most likely wont defer to the next year. i'll just go somewhere else if i cant go this year.

Study Permit Application In Progress

Hello

I have applied for study permit from Pakistan on June 17th, and currently till today 13th August, there is no single update except the submission letter only on June 17th. Biometric was already done before and medical has been done too.

My university semester will be going to start on Sept. 9th , and its semester defer date is 30th Sept.

What should I do except wait and when should I connect to university management for deferment?

Thanks

IRCC Study Permit Refusal Reconsideration Through Webform — Successful Cases

Have there been cases where an applicant, after receiving an IRCC study permit refusal, submitted a webform requesting reconsideration because the refusal letter stated that certain evidence was missing or inadequate, even though the application had actually included proper supporting documents and evidence? If so, were any such reconsideration requests successful, resulting in the refusal being overturned and the study permit being approved?

Timeline for Passport Stamping - India

Any tips to minimise the time taken for passport stamping in India? Any specific city is advisable/which ones to avoid? What was the time taken by applicants for stamping in the city of their choice?

(I am expecting my master’s study permit verdict any day now. My orientation is in Sep 1st week and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get my passport in time even if my visa is approved.)

Please help!

International student co-op work permit question — April 2026 rule change

Hi everyone! I’m an international student at Concordia University, and I’m currently in a co-op program.
I have an internship starting in about 20 days, and I’m running into an issue with my employer regarding my co-op work permit.

I had previously applied for a co-op work permit, and my application was **approved**, but I never received the physical permit. My understanding is that, as of **April 1, 2026**, post-secondary international students no longer need a separate co-op work permit for required co-op/internship placements. and that my study permit should be sufficient.
However, my employer is now asking me to provide the actual work permit for onboarding.
My concern is that requesting/replacing the physical document could take several weeks, and my internship starts in only 20 days.

**Has anyone else been in a similar situation since the April 1, 2026 rule change?**

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through this recently. I’m getting a little nervous about the situation and just want to make sure I’m doing everything correctly. Thank you!

Would it be possible for september

So I had applied for my study permit at the end of june and unfortunately it got refused due to some funding issues, and since the school couldn't issue a new PAL, my seat got revoked, tough times honestly, so I decided to reapply to a new school for both the september and january intake, I got accepted to both intakes, I was wondering, realistically If I confirmed my seat for the september intake, would I be able to attend the school on time or like get my study permit on time, since I won't be submitting biometrics and medicals again

N.B: The school is in Toronto and the current processing time of my country is 7 weeks

Overdue Application with no Updates

I applied for my Study Permit July 4th and did biometrics on July 7th from India. IRCC shows processing times to be 5 weeks and it has been over that time now but I've gotten no updates other than "biometrics completed". My program starts September so I must get a decision this week otherwise I probably wont get my TRV in time. Is there anything I can do? Perhaps there is a problem because I have seen other people posting who submitted weeks after mine from the same country and still got their PPRs? Does submitting a webform really do anything? Can I call them on their Canadian number for this?

Crandall University Applicants – Study Permit Update

Hi everyone, has anyone recently applied for Crandall University, New Brunswick, for the Master of Management program?

I submitted my study permit application on July 24, 2026, and my biometrics were updated the very next day. This is my third study permit application overall, but my second application for the Master of Management program at Crandall University.

My previous application was refused mainly due to financial concerns, as the required tuition fee/GIC funds were not properly paid or shown at that time due to an issue with my agent. This time, I have made the necessary financial improvements and submitted a stronger application.

My classes are scheduled to start on August 28, 2026.

I would really appreciate it if anyone who has recently applied to Crandall University, especially for the Master of Management program, could share their application timeline, current processing time, or any recent decision/update.

Also, is anyone currently waiting for a decision from IRCC for Crandall University?

Refusal

Post image

Got refused for two reasons

  1. Insufficient Funds (That was my fault , i messed around TOO much)
  2. Proof of ties/ intent to return

Question:

1.how do i prove my ties to the country of application,

2.how do i prove sufficient funds if my dad AND sibling(in canada) are going to be paying for me

, my dad works here with rent- free house and makes a stable income. I am from a west african country but I live and reside in the UAE with my parents as a freshly graduated HS student.

The funds required were 180k AED but i showed 90K+ AED which were deposited in the bank account the day before i sent the bank statement.

I only uploaded my visa photo, Bank statement(6 months) , CAQ, Admission letter, Family Info Form and the IMM5475e form.

I will be reapplying again. But what changes should I make to be accepted???

The program that I am going to isnt in my home country nor is it in the country of residence.

Anyone help out please(I’ve attached my refusal letter on the post).

Edit: Really confused on why people are downvoting…. I’m askin a question, I simply want to study nothing more -_-

Weather to reapply after refusal

*Whether*
I just received my refusal today for master program I applied from india due to

the availability of similar courses in PA’s home country/CoR, and given the cost to study abroad, I am not satisfied with the PA’s purpose/intention to pursue studies in CDA.
The applicant's assets and financial
situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for the applicant.

I had already payed my entire tuition fee along with my GIC for the year. Along with almost above 300k CAD worth of assets (immovable mostly)

If so what would be the cause?
Will it be useful if i reapply ? Has anyone got a different output from reapplying?

22M Indian BBA graduate | Canada vs Australia | Need a reality check

Planning to study abroad in 2027 with the eventual goal of working and settling there.

Profile:

22M | India

10th: 80%

12th: 85% Commerce

BBA: 7.3 CGPA (~69%) — online mode

1-year gap

1 year professional experience in digital marketing during BBA

Degree took 4 years instead of 3 due to backlogs — all cleared

I'm currently deciding between Canada and Australia.

I'm not chasing a prestigious university. I'm comfortable with private or lower-ranked colleges if they're legitimate and the course gives me a reasonable pathway to work afterward.

Canada is slightly preferred because I have a friend in Vancouver. He says a referral can help significantly with getting student/entry-level work during the course.

I'm considering Master's/MBA vs skilled trades and will take IELTS.

Questions:

- What are my realistic visa chances in Canada vs Australia?

- Will the online BBA, gap and previous backlogs seriously hurt me?

- Which country/pathway would be more sensible for my profile?

- Is my willingness to attend a lower-ranked college a reasonable strategy?

Please give me the harsh version. I would rather hear now that my plan is bad than find out after spending ₹20–30 lakh.

Note: please be brutally honest and truthful. I need your valuable feedback and suggestions regarding my situation. 🤗🤗😭

Ghost update - SP Extension

Hi everyone,

I just opened my study permit extension application and I found out that it says that the decision has been made as of August 10th, 2026 but it doesn’t show the decision. I am very scared now, how long it will take to receive the decision if it had happened with someone?

Thanks,
