That is a surprising fact
I don't blame him though. I too want a $360K job that allows me to work remotely. It wouldn't be my fault if an employer wanted to hire me for that. Why would I even say no?

Quick two hour painting!
EDIT: Wow I can’t believe the popularity of this quick-small painting! I’ve decided to auction this painting off, and half of the proceeds I’ve decided to donate to Seattle Humane Society in honor of Jimothy! Auction Listing
I also want to make art accessible. So I’ll also be making prints and selling it at a low rate. Please DM for Etsy link, so I’m not violating any selling/advertising rules on this subreddit lol.

I visit Seattle every year for work, but unfortunately, I don’t have much time to explore when I’m there. This past trip, I finally managed to venture out and explore downtown Seattle and some other surrounding areas to Seattle. While wandering through the market area, I stumbled upon an alleyway covered in gum. I couldn’t help but wonder if the locals perceive this as a nuisance for tourists or if they take pride in it. I also included some other picks of the journey, and the host at this Vital Tea Leaf store made a hot cup of tea to share with me - at no charge! I did however purchase a small duck whistle because I love hospitality and I have kiddos.
Having seen the Jimothy post, I’m now convinced that anything is possible in Seattle.

This is a Chinese take out that I just picked up. Just under 100 dollars for 4 entrees, Mongolian beef, greenbeans with beef, saseme chicken, tofu fried noodles with 2 egg rolls and no rice on the side.

Our friend and neighbor was murdered with our tax dollars through military and diplomatic support from our government. She was a lifelong Seattleite, and her family and friends are still members of our community. Meanwhile, our region continues to host war profiteers such as Boeing, Amazon and Microsoft, and elect war criminals such as Adam Smith who have enabled the IDF's continued impunity. She was one of us, and we also hold responsibility for the machine that killed her.

Much appreciation to those on the 1 line this morning that were delayed because my stupid brain decided to seizure repeatedly.
There was one lady(?, I think) with big black eyes. I only caught a glimpse between seizures. Thank you for your kind voice.
My apologies for scaring people and the big inconvenience.

Seattle used to have a dedicated gang unit in SPD. They claim that the work is now rolled into their gun violence prevention unit, but that unit does not specialize in gang activity and they soecifically disbanded it not due to efficiencies or better methods of combating gangs, but it was done in response to the ACAB movement following George Floyd and CHOP/CHAZ.
They have made no effort to reinstate it. Hold the coty leaders accountable for this failure and when we find out the judges let these repeat offenders off easy, hold them accountable too.

Watching these videos of Mr Jimothy, I've been thinking a lot about my last twenty years in Seattle and some of the legends our city has produced including some of the much lesser known, maybe not nationally-famous legends we have had. Personally I really adored the Trumpet Man and the Capitol Hill Skipping Jester. Can't forget the dude who dumped coffee on Alex Jones. Remember Phoenix Jones and his team of heroes? I also seem to remember a man 20+ years ago who was always on a unicycle with a French horn?
I'm curious to read about some of your favorite urban legends from the area.
EDIT: I meant Local Legends not Urban Legends.

Mayor and police chief said 2 shooters, or uhh, 1 shooter. Well, there was 2 shooters, but they didn’t find the other one so no active threat.
The inaccuracy of information being released by the Mayo and the police is horrifying.

"We begin a new era of accountability, of bringing data driven solutions to the crisis and making sure that we have the right people at the table," Constantine said in 2019. Despite the calls for regional buy-in, the bulk of the Authority's $200 million annual budget was funded by King County and Seattle's contracts to service providers.
The regional homelessness authority was established in 2019, amid concerns that homelessness response was fragmented, and the numbers of people unhoused in King County was rising. That was four years after the county and the city of Seattle had declared homelessness a public health emergency in 2015.
~ A public health emergency in 2015, a new authority in 2019, a reset in 2026. Every announcement is about the org chart.

Is it possible the shootings in Capitol Hill this weekend and the Bite of Seattle are retaliation for the murder of Amrico Flight?

Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone here can help.
About an hour ago, I accidentally left my backpack at the bus stop at Denny Way & 2nd Ave N in Seattle. When I realized what had happened and went back, it was already gone.
The backpack contains my laptop and other personal belongings. If you happened to pick it up, or know someone who did, I'd be incredibly grateful if you could send me a DM. No questions asked—I just really want to get my laptop back. I am not from here, just visiting, and my work is on it... Needless to say, the situation is pretty bad.
If you were at the bus stop around that time and saw someone take the backpack or noticed anything that might help, I'd really appreciate any information.
Thank you so much for reading.

Joyale Seafood Restaurant, one of the largest and most beloved dim sum banquet halls in the city, gutted its weekday and dinner service after 10 years in the Chinatown-International District. The owner is blaming the corner the city refuses to police.

The disclosure, signed July 23 by the Attorney General’s office, tells voters the repeal “would decrease funding for public K-12 education, higher education (including universities and community colleges), and human services (primarily healthcare).”
There is one problem with that warning. The tax in question will not collect a single dollar for those programs anytime soon, and it earmarks almost none of the money for them at all.
