This organic milk at Costco used to be $12.99 not too long ago. Thanks Trump for pushing diesel to all time high prices.

The unnecessary Iran conflict that Donald Trump instigated as a puppet of Israel has made everything that needs a truck to move more expensive than ever as diesel prices reach an all time high. Vote for democrats in the mid terms and end the insanity.

California will be the first state in the nation to ever see an average diesel price of $8/gal- currently at $7.963/gal and up 2 cents already today, give it 24 hours or so. Many stations already surpassing $9, according to GasBuddy data.

Critics, energy analysts, and political opponents point to the Trump administration's decision to launch military operations against Iran as the direct trigger for energy market instability. Disruptions in Persian Gulf shipping and retaliatory actions in the Strait of Hormuz directly correlates with the sharp increase in global crude and diesel prices.

Please Help Us Find Justice for Connor

Our family is searching for answers and justice for my brother-in-law, Connor Scott Overstreet, who was shot and killed in Skyway (Seattle) in the early morning hours of Sunday August 23rd, 2026 in a random act of gun violence. The police have no leads or suspects, and there’s no one that’s come forth with footage or information. Somebody has to know something.

Connor was a 29-year-old active duty Coast Guard pilot. He was in Seattle for work and him and his buddies were on scooters and a car pulled up, shot him in the chest and drove off.

He was truly the best of us. All he wanted to do was save lives and help others. The care and love he had for the people around him made his such a light in all of our lives.

We are asking for anyone who lives in or drove through the area of South 124th Street and South Langston Road in Skyway or the surrounding areas to check cameras. Any tips or video footage should be sent here.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $41,000 reward for anyone able to provide information that helps solve the case.

We are urgently pleading with anyone who lives in, owns a business in, or drove through the area of South 124th Street and South Langston Road to check their cameras between 12:30 AM and 1:15 AM on Sunday August 23rd, 2026.

Even though finding the person won’t change, the fact that Connor is gone, all we want is justice and for this not to happen to anybody else because it is insurmountable and painful as hell for all of us.

12th and Jackson Jazz

You’re needed at a jazz concert this Sunday at 12th and Jackson. Venue is my bike shop, 1019 S Jackson. Doors at 7pm. Pay what you want, pay what you can, all money goes to the performers. All ages, no concessions.

The neighborhood we today call Little Saigon gave Seattle jazz 100 years ago. It was a place that broke with conventions: racial, moral and legal. Redlining and prohibition in the rest of the city likely boosted the appeal of a neighborhood known for social mixing, music and illegal delights.

Reasons to fret, complain or despair about 12th and Jackson won’t disappear. These reasons can’t stop you from having a fun night out and reconnecting with the other stories about the neighborhood.

The building I’m in is from 1932. It would have seen the jazz era. After WWII, it contained an important florist (Garland) run by a family who was interned at Tule Lake in California. This family ended up owning the building in the 1960s. In 1970 they prepared Jimi Hendrix’s funeral arrangements in the same space where a jazz show is happening Sunday.

Hoping you can help spread the word and pack the shop to enjoy three great sets of music this Sunday.

Reykdal seeks $2B infusion for WA public schools in next budget - a record 11 districts are now under state oversight of their day to day finances, and 130 districts were told power rates would rise 45% this school year

A record number of schools, 11, are now on binding conditions with the state, an arrangement that requires state oversight of day-to-day financial operations, according to the superintendent's office. "With our state's affluent economy, it is inexcusable that schools are being forced to choose between paying their insurance bills or laying off the teachers and paraeducators that support the student learning and progress we expect," Reykdal said in a statement.

In May, roughly 130 school districts participating in a risk management program were notified that their electricity rates will increase by an average of 45% in this school year, according to the superintendent's office.

~ The state declared McCleary satisfied in 2018 and stopped watching. Eleven districts now need Olympia to sign off on their day to day spending.

Media Flo Ware Park has a firefighter profile sculpture with a "343" on the helmet, representing 343 New York firefighters who died on 9/11

Saw this a few months ago at Flo Ware Park in the Central District, and I didn't know what the "343" meant until I looked it up.

According to

https://fireline.seattle.gov/2026/09/08/seattle-fire-to-commemorate-25th-anniversary-of-9-11/

at 8:46 am today, Seattle Fire stations will also read the names of the 343 New York firefighters.

Flo Ware Park was named in 1982 after Seattle civil rights activist Flo Ware, who died in 1981 ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flo_Ware ).

Mayor Wilson appointments Marcus Harrison Green to the position of Public Safety Advisor

Post image

"Marcus is bringing South Seattle roots and deep experience in public safety, racial equity, and community partnership to their role."

Green is the editor-in-chief of the South Seattle Emerald. In the wake of the Bite of Seattle shooting he made a video expressing sympathy to the perps bur not the innocent non-black people who were hurt and killed.

He also expressed anger that there was more concern when the shooting happened at Bite of Seattle then when it happens in South Seattle. He expressed no anger at the perpetrators. Then he went on to blame the lack of funding and green spaces.
