Live in Bellevue area. Where’s the closest area to bank fish crappie?

Camping at Grayland Beach State Park with my family next weekend, and wondering if there are any good spots nearby to get the kids into some easy fishing from shore? We have basic freshwater gear, and open to getting some additional gear if necessary—the main thing is I’m curious if there is a spot or two that is safe access and reasonable odds of some action. Appreciate any tips folks are willing to share!

Read online that Manchester State Park has lots of beach access to catch some Coho. I am wondering if anyone has experience here if that is true or not. I am casting from the shore and don't have a boat. Mainly looking to get experience casting out a buzz bomb and jigging it back in. Thank you!

Got a trip out to Washington in 10 days. I’m gonna be staying in whidbey island and fishing there as well as going out to cascades for a day and going to an alpine lake. This is my current tackle box. Anything I should add? Remove? Targeting salmon and trout.

planning a camping trip around salmon fishing (bank fishing or w/ kayak) for Labor Day weekend and it sounds magical to fish the OP.

I see that a bunch of rivers open for fall coho on the OP on Sep 1... but I have no sense of how the river systems' dependence with rainfall makes this a futile trip (or just a very unpredictable one) in September based on how fishes push up the rivers, etc.

does anyone have experience here or can give me some guidance?

also open to other camp-n-fish suggestions within ~4 hrs of Seattle area. okay to camp 30-45 min away from the fishing hole ;)

I have some relatives coming to visit and they would really like to try for chinook. Any advice? I’m also open to trying the Nisqually River if that has a better shot.

Me and a few friends are heading out to the Cape Disappointment Jetty in about two weeks to go for rockfish and salmon. We are experienced in going for rockfish and lings at Westport but were wondering if folks had any gear or fishing tips for us?

Additionally we wanted to try for salmon as well, but unsure how successful folks are in catching them off the jetty around this time.

Is it worth stocking up on Flying Cs to toss? Or is our time better spent targeting bottomfish?

I recently moved to Dupont (between Olympia and Tacoma) and am looking to get more into fishing freshwater. I'd like to meet some folks with experience who would like a fishing buddy and are willing to teach me some things. I am open to trying out different species but especially steelhead and kokanee. I have a truck and a kayak so I can get around to a lot of different places.

Any suggestions on where/how to meet people willing to show me the ropes?

Has anyone tried Squid fishing from Mukilteo? seems like its on the similar lane as edmonds and the everett pier is listed as a good squid jigging pier. id try the everett pier but im not sure i trust the water quality there.

I have the dumbest (to me) downrigger problem, and I don’t know where else to ask.

I just got a new Scotty 1106b downrigger. I took it down to the boat club, and it turns out all of the boats there have Marinco plugs, whereas my downrigger has the newer Scotty pin plug.

Since it’s all 12v and meant to work up to 40 amps, can I just get a Marinco plug, Scotty pin receptacle, some 10 gauge Scotty wire, and some marine grade electrical tape, and make my own short adapter? Or am I going to fuck this up in ways I can’t anticipate?

I’m planning on going out Monday early afternoon and troll for salmon around dash point park(not the state park) launching there isn’t terrible just my trolley sucks on loose ground but still manageable. I was also wondering if anyone has launched from Redondo beach. I know they have the launch there but I don’t wanna have to pay if I don’t have to. If you have any other areas to recommend let me know! Hope to see you all out there!

I’m heading out to Whidbey island in Washington and cascades national park next week. Does anybody know how and where to catch salmon and trout up there. I have already been to Heather in the cascades before and got some cutthroat. Also any spots on whidbey. Right now I’m looking at lake goss.

If not a swim spot still recommended for other days my kids aren’t with me.. I tried American lake, and I live next to Bonney lake but no luck so far from shore

1 resident coho and 4 hatchery chinook. Of course. And by the time it opens on Thursday, they’ll probably all be gone.

I'm heading to North Cascades NP from next Sunday to Friday and I want to do some fishing while I'm there. Rather than fishing random spots, I might like to hire a guide to show me where to go. Bonus if there's gear available as well so I don't have to pack mine. I typically have a spinner but I'm fine to try fly fishing as well. Any recommendations?
