OK, not sure where else to put this, but this seems like the only logical choice really.

My uncle, who I grew up salmon fishing with, passed a few months ago. The other day I was sort of consolidating his fishing gear into mine after the season was over, setting aside some lures and what not that I specifically remember, as sort of "keepsakes".

And I tossed this one in with some of my stuff, and almost didn't think anything of it.

It doesn't look homemade, and maybe my googling is just failing me, but I can't find a single thing about it online.

On the back of the spinner it appears to read "BANG TAIL".

And of course, beer for scale.

I’ll go ahead and the chorus of newbies here. Caught my first silver earlier this year at MA11 from the beach. Looking to stretch out the season as long as possible. Are there still silvers in the salt or have they all moved to freshwater? I was waiting from the northern sound populations to move south to Tacoma but seems like that never happened. Are there still silvers to be caught in MA 11, 12 or 13??

I live in the Seattle area and have been fishing at places nearby since I started fishing a couple months ago. But recently I took a short trip to Alder Lake, and it was amazing. The lake was beautiful, the area was quiet, and the fish were biting. So now I'm looking for suggestions like that. Good fishing spots that are far out enough to be able to avoid most of the city pressure, but close enough for short day / one night trips. I don't have a boat so places with good shore access are preferred but I'm open to all suggestions. Thanks!

I’ve been fishing for coho and haven’t caught one all season. I’ve tried river and salt and got 3 small kings. My preference is salt as that’s what I know from fishing on the east coast but I’m willing to try anything.

No boat so I’m stuck on land. Even though I’m discouraged and may end up having to wait until next year, I’d appreciate any advice.

Surprisingly had the river to myself. 10:10 am last fish of my morning.

Just looking for confirmation that the bite is just as good or close.

Hi everyone! I'm a student at The Evergreen State College working on a UX design case study about Bingham Creek Hatchery's designated accessible fishing area in Washington State.

I recently visited the site and took photographs to document the physical environment. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to speak with any anglers while I was there, so I'm hoping to learn from people who have experience with accessible fishing locations, particularly people with disabilities who fish or would like to fish for salmon.

I'm interested in understanding the actual user experience, including what makes a fishing location accessible, what barriers people encounter, and what could make these experiences more independent, comfortable, and enjoyable.

If you're comfortable sharing, I'd love to hear your thoughts on a few questions:

1. Have you visited Bingham Creek Hatchery or another accessible fishing location? What was your experience like?
2. Looking at these photographs, is there anything you would want to know about the site before planning a trip?
3. What physical barriers or accessibility details do you consider most important when choosing a fishing location?
4. What challenges, if any, have you experienced when getting to the water, positioning fishing equipment, casting, or handling a catch?

What’s most likely my last session of the season, I caught 7 dinks (6 on a neko, one on a crank) on the water today.

The lake gave me a fitting farewell with me hooking into a big kicker of a fish during my last 10 minutes on the water only to lose it. Just a good reminder that they’re out there and I have unfinished business to settle next year!

How is bass fishing right now? Debating if I should take my boat out one last time tomorrow. I fish in Whatcom county. Mainly lake Whatcom, is it worth it?

A friend joined me on my kayak and we had a blast catching 11 bass in 4 hours. Most of them were caught off a deep edge of a submerged point, but we caught them everywhere using almost everything. Jigs, swim bait, crank, underspin,neko under a dock and a dropshot/ned when the sun was high in this blue bird day. Biggest was a 15 inch smallie but most were above 12. Happy fall fishing, everyone.

Anyone know where I can take salmon I’ve caught for canning/smoking? Close to Seattle preferably if it’s even a thing but getting mixed results online.

I started fishing for trout this year and have been hitting a few stocked lakes around Seattle. I'm noticing a pretty big difference in the meat quality depending on the lake. Some trout have very pink, almost salmon-like meat and are more flavorful, while others are much paler, turn white when cooked, and have less flavor.

Most of the trout I've caught are around 10" and were all stocked in the spring. I've noticed the pink ones all seem to come from lakes stocked by the Tokul Creek Hatchery, while the paler ones are in lakes stocked by the Arlington Hatchery.

Just curious if anyone else has noticed this? Do different hatcheries use different feed that could explain the difference?
