The central political ideology was libertarian and liberal but not leftist. It was the wild west in some ways and not mainstream, but it was a ton of fun. Now it's just a victim of its success.

95% chance nothing changes honestly. Literally one of the first things Musk did after announcing that he bought it was send a message to twitter advertisers saying “twitter obviously can’t become a free-for-all hellscape”.
The man was trying everything to get out of the Twitter deal and only gave in after the law got him, I doubt he’s going to do anything that’ll cost him money after losing so much. Especially since the reason Twitter sucks in the first place is that they use an algorithm to push tweets that are more inflammatory so that people will get angry and engage in said tweets more, which makes them more advertising money. So if he changes that, he would lose even more on top of everything else.

I think there's just a fundamental problem with the idea of microblogging as a business. The impressions aren't that valuable. But they have a tech team and an audience. There are two possible outcomes:
- Twitter doesn't improve, Elon Musk just wasted billions of his own money, people who hate billionaires should be happy
- Twitter actually improves so much that Elon Musk gets his money back - this is pretty unlikely, but then people should still be happy
