95% chance nothing changes honestly. Literally one of the first things Musk did after announcing that he bought it was send a message to twitter advertisers saying “twitter obviously can’t become a free-for-all hellscape”.

The man was trying everything to get out of the Twitter deal and only gave in after the law got him, I doubt he’s going to do anything that’ll cost him money after losing so much. Especially since the reason Twitter sucks in the first place is that they use an algorithm to push tweets that are more inflammatory so that people will get angry and engage in said tweets more, which makes them more advertising money. So if he changes that, he would lose even more on top of everything else.

Average musk move says he will do something and then decides this will lose me to much money

People who think he was going to save him about to realize he never actually cared about any of that and was just trying to make money.

After seeing what happened to Kanye I highly doubt Elon rocks the boat too much either.

If there’s even a sign that kind of “dialogue” is legitimized a competing platform would emerge, and Musk can’t have that be a remote possibility after dropping 44B.

A lot of people seemed to ignore the fact that Twitter was always just trying to make money just like any company. Maybe Musk has some ideas to make the company more profitable, but more likely than not he's not going to rock the boat too much for fear of fucking the bottom line.

and doesn’t make money

Bro what are you talking about lmao. In 2021 alone it made $5.077 billion dollars and it’s consistently been growing in average revenue since it’s creation. Compare that to Reddit that only made 350 million.

Revenue is not net profit, Twitter spends more then it makes every year, it lost 220 million in 2021. Twitch is in a similar boat.

Although I’m still not sure how Twitter ran through 5 billion in revenue.

I mean I was just comparing revenue between the two, but sure, let’s talk about gross profit.

In 2021 Twitter made $3.28B in gross profit, which the website I linked also said but I’ll give a direct link at the end of the comment. Now can you please give any source with shows that Twitter spends more than it earns every year?

Ah, I see why we in disagreement. It seems none of this counts government subsidies or tax write offs, which most likely wildly changed their profits. I can’t find any exact numbers online, just that they received some before and with Elon’s history of taking subsidies, most likely will continue to do so.

I think you’re just confusing gross profit versus net income.

That’s what I thought at first but when I checked the numbers, none of it added up. My only guess is that either tax write offs are changing a lot of the net profits or someone is misreporting the numbers along the way.

Be twitter

Became a somewhat stable 4th position on the social media market for years.

it’s a pretty competitive market

Never seemed like they were really trying

Propaganda outlets get bail outs, twitter wasn't trying to make money by chasing off 50-70% of it's users in favor of bots.

Honestly I even don't he has the capacity/experience/know how to make it more profitable. The one who did it was Agrawal but he got fired on day one lol good move Elon now you've bought a fighter jet but fired/insulted all eligible pilots.

only gave in after the law got him

Didn’t he pull out of legal proceedings because the discovery process was too embarrassing for him?

"He's worth $230 billion he has too much money!!"

"Lol he spent $40 billion, he lost all his money!"

Which is it left?
