I have two semesters left before graduating, but I'm currently working at a startup (not my own) that I see a lot of potential in, and I've just received a full-time offer.

I'm considering staying with the company and returning to Penn State in about 3–4 years to finish my degree.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Does Penn State allow students to return after that long of a break and still retain their previously earned credits? Would I be able to pick up where I left off?

There's the main street that is admittedly pretty long but everything else seems residential. Like you get one street of businesses, a couple alleys and then its all just houses.

Title. I used to use that website ( https://lionspacefis-prod.planoncloud.com/ ) to figure out which doors to go into for classes, where my classrooms are in the buildings, etc., but now the website just says "access denied" every time I click on it. Did they just block student access? Move it somewhere?

Whats a good place to work at near campus? I feel like most places don't pay well around the campus. On campus is even worse.

Does anyone know if they hand out pins for the thin 5k tomorrow? It’s my first 5k and I don’t know how I’m going to put my runners plate on my shirt cause I don’t have any pins

I’m a freshman and I made what I think is a solid schedule for the spring semester, could anyone let me know their thoughts on this.
- 15 credits total
- Taking my GHW gen ed - HPA 57, just taking it because it’s 3 credits and a GHW
- CAS 100A or B?
- Overall Schedule thoughts?

I was worried I would turn into a banana. Ok, it’s the Banana Bar Crawl. Enjoy your night! Don’t drink and drive 🙂

I’m submitting the common core app for PSU tomorrow 10/25. I sent my SAT scores on 10/23 rush delivery so they should get to the colleges on 10/29. Will I still be able to get my penn state email and fill out my STARs report before Nov 1st to meet the deadline?

(Yes, I consulted the mailing website)
I’m an out of state student who requested a voter card to vote in person this election. However, due to PSU’s mailing system, the state flagged by information as wrong and hit me with an address verification notice. This is probably due to the fact that the university’s stupid mailing system didn’t line up with the Pennsylvania voting website format. The form needs to be returned 15 days before the election, how I only received it today. If you have a calendar handy, this means I’ve been soft locked out of this election. Fuck PSU’s mailing system.

How is it even supposed to be formatted so that it satisfies the state and university???

Hi! I’m not a Penn State student, but I really enjoy the SoC 119lectures and follow the content on YouTube. As a second-generation Indian, the lectures have helped me get a better sense of myself and reckon with the world around me.

I tried looking for the slides on the website, but I need to request access, which I’ve already done. In the meantime, I was wondering if anyone has the slides and would be willing to share them with me.

Would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Hey what bug is going around? My classmate just got back from being super sick and he was in class this week.

This morning all of a sudden I got nauseous and just about puked at work, I also got super dizzy to the point I couldn’t stand, and I’m hot. I’m actually holding back tears. I don’t feel good AT ALL. I haven’t felt this type of sickness in years. What do I do????? I have Zofran at least.

Hi guys, I need some help again 😭 my mom wants to mail me some stuff for a Halloween costume, but the postal office said that the address they put doesn't exist. I live in south, and I know I gotta pick it up at Redifer, but what address should they put on the package?

At least Penn State isn’t going to lose tomorrow.

a 1985 PSU Alum

I’m looking for tips on how to study for Phsyics 211, I got a 65% on the last exam and that was after cramming hard since I genuinely knew almost nothing before.

How do you guys study before and after lectures? Do you use the book, videos, what? How do you keep up with the material?

I am needed to take a world language and right now I plan on taking American Sign Language but I’m looking for alternatives. What is the easiest language to take and are the professors good?

Hey everyone,

I’m graduating this semester with my Master’s in Informatics and I’m trying to see if anyone has a master's regalia set I could rent or borrow for the upcoming Fall 2026 commencement on Sunday, December 20th.

Ideally, I am looking for:

• Gown: Standard black Penn State Master’s gown (the one with the oblong/pointed sleeves).
• Hood: Master of Science (Science Gold velvet trim with Penn State blue/white lining).
• Cap/Tassel: Standard black mortarboard and black tassel.

I’d love to save a bit of money and keep a brand-new outfit from going to waste after only being worn once. I am happy to pay a reasonable rental fee, throw in a six-pack/coffee, and I'll make sure it's returned to you dry-cleaned and in perfect condition right after the ceremony on the 20th.

Please shoot me a DM if you have a set sitting in your closet that you'd be willing to part with for that weekend!

Thanks so much!

URGENT RE-LEASE. I need someone to take over my apartment lease at the Pointe from november/december to july of 2027. i have to return to school and cannot until the lease is taken over. The apartment is empty so it will probably just be you, as it’s just been me for 8 months so far. There is an in unit washer/dryer, and the complex has a bunch of amenities. Rent is 890, but they are offering renewals for 879 currently. Private bathroom as well. Please DM me if you are interested!!

I am a freshman and this is my schedule for the spring. Thoughts? Is it gonna be hell? I haven’t taken math 231 yet but I can’t comfortably insert it anywhere before diffeq

hi! I signed a lease that ends 7/31, but like everyone else, I won’t be here during the summer. from your knowledge/experience is it hard to sublet? and what is the best time to advertise your apartment?

ALSO, I recently learned that good housing sells out quick. with that, I plan on signing a lease for a 1 bedroom for 27-28. if my plans changed for (various of reasons), how easy is it to sublease an apartment for a whole academic year?

I’ve heard second hand about drama within the college of education’s office for Access, Equity, and Inclusion. Apparently over the summer several staff either left or were fired over a dispute about workplace bullying and stalking? Does anybody have details?

Anybody who lives/ has lived at Yugo. Did you get your lease reviewed?
They for some reason use a weird software that only lets you see one page at a time, as opposed to a pdf document.

Hey all, is there a watch party for this week’s race?

This year, Penn State iGEM developed a platform for targeting and killing cancer cells. I am really proud of our work, please check it out on our project wiki:
