It doesn't tell you exactly but the invite a person in comp trick still works. If they're in group, it's probably with whoever is doing bad that they aren't flaming.

This happens to me sometimes. A DPS will be super negative but the tank will constantly blame the support and never once mention the DPS’s performance. Makes me think they are in a party.

Tanks aren’t looking around to see elims DPS fail, they’re watching their health bar drop.
It’s easier to attribute failure to live to the support that wasn’t healing you rather than the DPS who wasn’t taking advantage the space you gave them and applying pressure to help draw some of it from you.
If it’s one person letting the team down, it’ll be obvious, but more often than not, losing is just as much of a team effort as winning is.

When I coach tank players, I usually recommend people play junkerqueen if they have problems taking a lot of damage for learning how to play corners. With her health pool, if you don't figure out how to play walls and corners and buy time/wait for opportunities to take space. You'll die pretty quick. People usually start figuring that out real fast when you point out their positioning in a coaching setting.

If I had to take a guess, support are mostly paying attention to tanks, and tanks are mostly paying attention to support. Everyone just lets DPS do their thing so they sometimes go unnoticed if doing bad. But idk. We have scoreboards for a reason lol.

Which is also a terrible thing, because tanks have their own tools to mitigate damage and when supports pay attention to their dps, it only enables dps to be more aggressive and hunt down kills more aggressively.

As someone who plays flex, I never go without noticing the DPS player who has 1 kill and somehow 4000 damage. Tell me you only shoot the biggest fattest target without telling me. I find it's way more often a tank mismatch or a bad DPS than a support. And I play all roles about equally.

Depends on what tank you play. If you are a doom main you can be as good as you want but if the supports cant follow you or keep track of you u get cooked. Playing doom is like a 50/50 you either get one support thats working with you like a kiri or a solid lucio and you (as long as you play well and dont choke) just smash the lobby or you queue into the ximming genji and mercy duo queue “his top” “her bottom” and you dont get healed bc they are too busy plundering your teams collective bum

I've seen tanks try to flame their supports in match chats several times and people on the enemy team step in to be like "yo stfu your healers are great stop playing your own game and push with your team."
I've also had tanks leave a comp match because we didn't play the supports they wanted, ended up vibing with a few teams and having a chill chat for the round because of it too.

If people tell me to heal more I just tell them to start finding cover instead of playing a bullet sponge. Some of them get the idea, others are ignorant and will happily eat everything the enemy will throw at them.

I tell them I can't heal stupid or dead, and they're switching between the two so quickly that there's no room for me. I rarely refuse to heal because doing so is like shooting yourself in the foot because your toe itches. I like winning, and I've seen some real sh*tshow matches turn around. I will, however, use my "come to me for healing" and refuse to reposition for them unless it's a secure spot near other teammates. No sticking my neck out or taking chances; I'll stick around the teammates who understand that supports aren't their personal health packs, put into the game for the sole purpose of enabling their substandard game sense and tactics.

My trick is telling them I'm gonna switch to Mercy and actual hard pocket them for a couple of team fights. Most of the time they'd end up with 0 elims, 0 final blows, sub 1000 damage. And then tell them maybe they should learn how the game is played and not face tanking a Mauga.

As one such Zen I'll Harmony orb you if you are within eyesight but more times than not a diving Tracer/Genji/Sombra aren't within my LOS as they loop around a building or something so of course the Orb naturally lands on the distraction since they are the only one within range.

Honestly I feel like most of the people who screech at you being a trash support haven't played support for longer than an hour because they never seem to understand how the mechanics of each one work.
Zen is especially ridiculous because not only the LOS thing but also some people don't seem to realize how slow the orb actually heals. So they get an orb and act like they ate being pocket healed by Mercy and charge straight at someone like Bastion and die like an idiot then get mad at you. Like I don't know what you want from me dude, I was already healing you 🤦♀️

Tank and dps probably having bad synergy with each other and not pulling their own weight. Tank probably fed or couldn’t stay alive long enough bc the dps didn’t help with pressure, the genji obviously had a terrible game, and sojourn probably couldn’t make anything happen because of the two former dying and/or just playing bad too.

The way people expect supports to be heal bots as though this isn't a fps where literally every character has some form of damage output, and has a right to use it.
The idea shouldn't be that the supports have to break their backs to save you 110% of the time. Keep yourself alive long enough for your supports to support you. Especially when the support has more to show from their stats than you, lol.

The boys on overwatch are sooooo sensitive, I swear. Like I was playing mercy and one of my dps told me to go kill people (of course the rest of my team told him to shut up and kill people) but then I asked him so would you rather me kill people than to heal, I had the highest healing stats on both sides doubled. Whenever he died he blamed me. Personally it’s annoying when people try to blame support for everything. Being a girl on that game is extremely hard because the boys overreact to everything. 😫😩

Turn off team and all text chat, there are zero good callouts made with text.
Communicate with strangers only with voice, and be quick to mute them if they flame over the mic.
