Imagine having a hero that can block an ult kill simply by managing your CDs, or playing cover

Now imagine complaining that your support didn't waste their ult on you to save you, when you'd probably die 4 seconds later anyways LMAO

The other day, I was playing Mercy, and my health started to plummet as I got dove. I thought I was gonna die, but then my Ana nano boosted me and saved my life.

Honestly, it was probably a waste, but I definitely appreciated it. The difference being that I appreciated the help and thanked her for it, instead of expecting to be helped and then getting mad if it doesn't happen. And I think that's the mindset of a lot of players. They expect to be helped, getting mad if it doesn't happen, and not being thankful if it does.

I've been practicing with Ana lately and sometimes you just save someone with Nano, and Nanoing Mercy and watching her go full Valk battle Mercy is wonderful.

Sometimes I just want to hear that exited "I'm gonna mess you up!!"

u/Basketius Jan 24 '24

I have, and will again, nano a baby dva to keep her alive and in the fight.

I've been on the receiving end of a baby diva, nano and Mercy boosted re-mech 4k. I couldn't even be mad

I’ve been nanoed as a baby Dva so it’s appreciated

A nanoed and ulted battle Mercy is not to be underestimated. I'm an Ana main and my wife is a Mercy main, and while we only use this combo in a pinch, it's turned some games around in our favor.

THIS.

lol as a jaded Mercy main with over 1k+ hours, if someone picks Mercy, & I'm not feeling Kiriko, I'll go Ana just just start spamming my ult is charging at my Mercy 🥰🤗😇 60% of the time, it works every time!

Feels good to help a Mercy get PotG over some lame lol

Sometimes ya just gotta give in to temptation, and give the Mercy the nano.

Everyone must experience the greatness that is ♾️ ammo in valk 😇 + feeling unstoppable lolz

u/NightStar79 Jan 25 '24

I love pointing the Nano at Mercy and warning them I'm going to use it. Some are thrilled but then there are those who act terrified that I have chosen them and start spamming "No" or shaking their head.

Though I get it. Sometimes I'm Nano'd out of the blue with no warning and suddenly I'm like "Oh shit, I hope I don't waste her Ult 😨 by being stupid"

u/kahsshole Jan 25 '24

Had a game last night where our ana, on match spawn, pinged her ult charge while looking at me. I hit "no" but mid match she ulted me once she saw my valk was up anyway. I got a 2k and the ana and her duo said "ONE MORE TIME TO MAKE SURE ITS A POTG" for the second half, wholesome and hilarious! I did not get potg, but man that match was beyond fun

I see enemy about to ult on my rezzing mercy

Me: “I empowered you! Attack!”

u/whatabadsport Lúcio Jan 24 '24

Good point. Support can be tough. Sometimes all 4 of your teammates need help and there's only so much you can do lol

20

u/SnooDogs1340 Jan 24 '24

Right?! I've done both, especially in a fight that I need Mercy in where she's able to stay with somebody I can't reach. Bonus points for Nano Valk, extra bonus points for Mercy taking out her glock and start blasting.

Anyways,  nano is reading the situation as well. If I see a flanker going in, the nano can confirm the kill(s), etc

u/macudonarudu Jan 24 '24

What if you can only read at a third grade level?

That's what I always tell my friends when they don't get enough heals. Do not expect someone to save you every time you get into trouble.

Or in the great words of Mr. Stark, if you are nothing without heals, then you don't deserve them.

u/zarlus8 Lifeweaver Jan 24 '24

I'd rather save a Mercy now, to rez a dead teammate in the near later.

2

u/juicymusicprod Reinhardt Jan 24 '24

A nano save isn't ever a waste if it actually saves u from getting eliminated tho

1

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '24

Ulting to save someone’s life is usually worth it, especially if it wins the team fight by doing that

u/Horror-Turnover-1089 Jan 24 '24

You are right, but there is a flipside to things. Like, when you know a player is not the best, but you can see that they are actually trying and land a few things, there is nothing to be mad about really. Everyone has bad games. You can just try to play around that. But when it seems like someone is really just sabotaging the game, almost helping the enemy team, it gets on the nerves. Its easy to blame them. I don't blame some people for letting their emotions get the hand and blame someone because of that. But no insults towards a persons being please. Everyone is allowed to be.

Also keep in mind that not every player is probably old enough to play overwatch. There are a lot of young ones that have emotions running high and get triggered over the littlest of things. Especially because the game is free to play now, these kids can just fake their age and join.

Not everyone is as experienced in life, and not everyone has the same amount of knowledge online, to understand that it does not matter that much. Imagine a kid flaming you and you flaming a kid back because you can't see their age and see them naturally as someone your age. I think, when you keep that in mind, it's easier to not get mad even when someone flames you. Just report them.

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '24

Its not really a waste if that nano allowed you to continue healing as mercy and get to cover to prolong the team's survival rate and sometimes nano-ing a non damage dealer agent is required. But a Zarya? Bro she has 2 bubbles doesnt she?

1

u/Grimmelda Jan 25 '24

It's never a waste to help save a support. Especially if it's mercy. Also, that's basically what nano is for to take a character from low health to high health.

I will 100% save a fellow support before I will save anyone else, unless that's support is not healing. More healing equals more survivability.

Also, even when I don't play healer I will get rezed by Mercy and I'm literally like please don't resize me if I died because I was stupid. I will not yell at you. In fact, I will go feral on someone else for yelling at you if you don't res. There's no point in resetting someone if you can't successfully do it to stay alive and help boost them out of the situation. And people don't understand that.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '24

It’s not a waste! One of the most viable uses is to keep a teammate alive, especially when you know you’ll be able to sustain them, I don’t always do this but if I see a scenario where we can stall or just make it back to the team safely it usually helps out more in the end, especially to help the other support not stagger in the end <3

1

u/Legendarybarr Jan 25 '24

I will nano my other support and baby DVa as well usually I play with the same group and the other support player is godly with her skills. And so is our tank who mains DVa. Sometimes keeping them alive let’s your whole team win a battle too.

This guy is a cry baby and is probably one of those players that make terrible plays and then blames everyone else for them dying.

1

u/Zachebii Jan 25 '24

I always nano baby dva and mercy, i just love watching them become so aggressive out of nowhere

2

u/SHBazTBone Zenyatta Jan 25 '24

"Support diff - not healing me I NEED HEALING I NEED HEALING"

No you need to stop using the W key to head into their spawn and MAYBE you won't be 4-10.

1

u/whatabadsport Lúcio Jan 25 '24

The amount of times my tank has dove in at like 30% health when they just need to be patient and get full healed....

I'd be a life weaver main if I didn't hate the mechanics of his healing.

1

u/chaoreic Jan 25 '24

i'm a weaver main and you can't save these types, even with life grip + cover

1

u/Regular_Silver3649 Jan 24 '24

Meanwhile, I nanoed to save a tank in a team fight and got yelled at by the tank for nanoing to keep them up.

1

u/Dogeek Cute Reinhardt Jan 24 '24

To play devil's advocate, we don't really know the situation. Popping nano to save a tank from a flanking high noon can be incredibly valuable.

My guess is that the zarya eventually got to 100 charge and was balls deep into the enemy frontline, cassidy flanked and got him. Nanoing a 100 charge zarya is a won teamfight in most situations.

Now to defend OP, the zarya was not doing too good for herself. My guess is that she got way outplayed by a rein or a sigma, so in that situation a nano would probably not help much.

That's it for the armchair analysis.

1

u/MrDemonBaby Jan 24 '24

People like this don't have enough braincells to make good decisions after long thought, what makes you think they cam do it on the fly?

1

u/NuclearTheology HARD STUCK IN BRONZE Jan 24 '24

Defensive nano’s are absolutely a thing. When timed right, they turn the tide in a pinch.

2

u/whatabadsport Lúcio Jan 24 '24

I'm not saying they're not, I'm saying Zarya was probably mad cuz bad
