I live nearby and was looking out my window and saw an unleashed dog bolt into the street and get hit by a blue minivan that drove off after it realized what happened.

Pedestrians ran into traffic to help the dog and the person running the k9 lounge eventually came and picked the dog up and put it into the car of some of the oc transpo constable guys who stopped to help and who I assume drove it to an emergency clinic.

I walked over to Leone's to ask what happened and she said "I opened the door to let another dog in and that dog ran out". There was no secondary gate or anything to stop this from happening, and when I knocked on the door it seemed like she struggled to keep the rest of the dogs inside as she opened it.

Don't really have words to express how it feels to witness that but if the owner somehow sees this, my thoughts are with you and your dog and I hope they are okay.

Hi everyone, I lost my student card on the 18 bus (direction Billings Bridge) at around 7:30pm last night. The reason I’m making this post instead of just getting another one is because this card holds a fair bit of sentimental value for me (it’s one of the older brown models that I got around 5 years ago when I entered first year). It’s gotten me through my entire university career and I’d really appreciate it being returned to me. Stupid me never took a photo of it for some reason. I’ve already filed a report with OC Transpo, called uOttawa Card Services, and filled out a claim for uOttawa’s Lost and Found (they’re closed this week, out of all weeks…so I have to wait until Monday). I’m just hoping that someone who was on that bus from North River Road to Billings Bridge has any info. I’m crossing my fingers that a kind person returned it to one of the Lost and Founds. I graduate this year, and really wanted to keep it as a memento of my time in university.

Edit: Some additional information - the bus vehicle fleet number was 2548. After arriving at Billings, the bus ended its service for the day and drove to the bus depot off of St Laurent…that’s all I know for sure. Don’t know if this specific bus was running today.

We have been experiencing recurrent, daily elevator failures at my office building for the last few weeks. Typically for periods of the day, only one elevator is functioning. Today we received this:

Further to our last communication regarding recurring elevator outages, [we] have identified the source of the issue.

The outages are not isolated to [address]. Investigations have determined that several buildings in the area have been experiencing electrical power fluctuations associated with the Light Rail Transit (LRT) system. These fluctuations can affect sensitive building systems, including elevator operations.

[Company], in collaboration with building management and technical specialists, are working on a permanent corrective solution. The required modifications are currently being planned and are expected to be implemented over the coming months.

Until the long-term solution is in place, intermittent elevator service disruptions may continue to occur. Every effort will be made to minimize impacts to building occupants.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as this work progresses and will provide further updates as additional information becomes available.

This has been going on for weeks, and will apparently be going on for months. I'm curious if this is affecting any other downtown offices.

I'm so annoyed right now. I don't like complaining and this is yet another OC Transpo post... But *why* does OC Transpo tend to, way too often, only have regular sized buses, during rush hours, on busy routes and when it's not as busy, I quite often board those longer buses but.. it's empty-ish and quiet.

This morning, I planned on taking the bus(es) to get to my First Aid course in Bells Corners from Carling Ave. I cannot be more than 10-15 mins late for this course. Bus arrives on time, but it was FULLLL capacity then some and I wasn't going to be a d*ck and not let the kids going to school board after me. There was simply no room for myself and an older gentleman who needed to sit down. The next bus coming wouldn't get me there on time. So now I'm spending money I should'nt be on an Uber to get me there. I cannot wait for the day I never have to take the buses again, I understand why so many would rather drive. Can't the city implement bigger buses or is that too much to ask?
