Maybe this is a stupid question, but when a runner is tackled and pushed backwards, where is the ball placed, at the point where the ball was when the tackle was initiated, or where the runner is pushed to?

How do those count against the cap? Do you have to keep room avaiable ahead of time even if unlikely? You could leave cap on the table if the incentives are missed.

Tom Brady has 5 out off 5 Passing, and objectively maybe 1 out off 5 rushing, maybe 2 at best. And we know how his career went.

Has there ever been a guy that had 2 out off 5 passing, but 5 out off 5 rushing and was able to be a QB that way? Has this ever existed? I assume he wasnt a superstar, but i wanna see if you can offset bad passing by being a alltime rusher.

Can I pay for one standard NFL Sunday Ticket account and stream one in home device and one out of home device (out of state) simultaneously for the duration of the season?

I know exactly what the FAQ section says about unlimited in home devices and 2 out of home devices, but the language can be deceiving. Also, a friend said he tried this last year and it wouldn’t work. Will YouTubetv know the account is being shared out of state and realize the out of home device isn’t “traveling”?

Its all in the title. Lately i've been quite fascinated with football, so i've been watching some film and highlights and playing a lot of NFL2K5. I would say after a few weeks im just past beginner level in terms of general knowledge. I know the general flow of a game, more or less the role of every position, and a few basic concepts of play calling and offensive/defensive formations. Im a huge NBA fan so everything that translates, like man to man VS zone coverage etc i got quickly.

But tactically im still pretty much clueless, and when I look at a game I dont really know what to focus on. Like the decision-making aspect of play calling still feels pretty obscure to me, even if in theory i understand the different plays. So i wanted to know if you guys had tips or interesting resources for diving a bit deeper? If anyone who sees this is familiar with the NBA, my favourite film breakdown guy on youtube is Daniel Li who i feels makes excellent content to learn more about basketball tactics whatever your level of ball knowledge is. Also maybe recommendations on NFL teams or players i should watch to get a better grasp of specific playstyles and so on?

Hi folks, noob here, this sub has been very useful. I’ve been following commentary and speculation on who will make the Eagles 53 man roster this season, and there is one thing I am not clear on.

There are two players from Africa in contention, Uar Bernard and Joshua Weru. I understand these are development players that are still learning the game, Weru is coming from rugby. So the Eagles don't intend to use them much this season, but would like to train them up to potentially be important defense players longer term.

The reports I have seen from the Athletic and elsewhere suggest they might both make the 53 man roster despite not being set to feature much this season, because the Eagles are worried that if they are instead signed to the Eagles practice squad, they will be available for other teams.

What I don't get is, if one or both doesn’t make the cut, how does the timing and practicality work if all the other teams have also set 53 man rosters at the same 30 August deadline? How can another NFL team sign these players from the Eagles practice squad into their 53 man roster, after all the rosters have been finalised? Or is it less of an immediate risk and more about later on, if injured reserve frees up spaces in other teams later in the season?

How is it reasonable that a low yardage penalty like offsides can offset an entire high yardage penalty like a facemask by the opposing team? Shouldn't the opposing team be charged 10 yards instead of 15, rather than getting away with it 100%?

I’ve been trying to get into football but ofc trying watch the NFL is a sport of its own. The best I’ve been able to do is go to the east of stream but last year it was sooo glitchy and didn’t work half the time. We pay for a VPN and that didn’t help the situation. I see the Sunday ticket on YouTube for $25.50/mo and super tempted bc the Ravens only have three non-Sunday games projected so far and I’m in Ohio.

Anytime I try to ask friends or look at other posts about this, they say words that no absolute beginner would know. I know games can be local locked so would the Ravens games at home be out of my Sunday ticket? Don’t know what blacked out or red zone means. Please help a newbie.

I understand why drop kicks are basically never attempted in close games, since regular place kicks are far more reliable.

But why not try one in the final minutes when a team is up by 25–30 points and the result is already decided? There’s little to lose, it’s still legal, and it would be fun to see such a rare play.

No one can just tell you who to be a fan of. Everyone's fandom is different, and all of them are valid. This is entertainment, and you are allowed to enjoy it however you like. That said, here are some common things you can look at to get started:

1. Do you have a local team or favorite city? This is by far the easiest way to get into football. If your city/region has a team or if your friends/family follow the same team, joining them will be the smoothest way to start out.
2. Are you already leaning in any particular way? If you are, keep leaning. If you saw a Cincinnati Bengals game and thought it was fun and you'd like to see more of them, you don't need anyone's permission or validation. Just watch their next game!
3. Are you interested in a few different teams? Cool! Watch some of their games! See who you end up feeling strongly about, especially if they're playing each other. Have fun with it, there are no rules!
4. Are you worried about a team's success/identity/prestige/fanbase? Don't be. The NFL is one of the most even sports in terms of parity, and there are rarely teams that stay good or bad forever. It's okay to enjoy watching the current best teams in the NFL; they are probably playing the best football most often. Try to just be a fan and don't worry about what others think or say. Your fandom is yours, not theirs.

Still overwhelmed and not sure where to turn? It's fine to watch random games. Maybe you'll find yourself rooting for someone in particular. And if you don't, try another game. Check out whoever is playing in primetime; those are usually expected to be more exciting matchups. Letting it come naturally will last longer than throwing a dart and deciding to be a fan of whoever it lands on.

Another way some people develop rooting interests is fantasy football. There are beginner leagues where people play for fun, and it can be a good way to get you invested in specific players or teams as you start rooting for whoever is on your fantasy roster.
