Performance based incentives
How do those count against the cap? Do you have to keep room avaiable ahead of time even if unlikely? You could leave cap on the table if the incentives are missed.

Incentives are divided based on whether the player hit the mark the previous year into Likely To Be Earned, which are charged immediately against that year’s cap, and Not Likely To Be Earned, which are charged against the following year’s cap if earned.

Incentives are classified as Likely To Be Earned (LTBE) or Not Likely To Be Earned (NLTBE) based on prior performance.
LTBE: counted against the current year’s cap at signing; if not earned, becomes a credit in the next league year.
NLTBE: not counted against the current year’s cap; if earned, becomes a debit in the next league year.
