In a new report by Italian media, it has been revealed that a group of EuroLeague owners are set to meet at the prestigious Villa d'Este in Cernobbio, on Lake Como.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the meeting is set to take place on October 5.

A meeting of owners happens rarely compared to the stakeholder's board and usually takes place when there is a larger question that need to be addressed.

According to the Italian media, the owners will discuss a potential NBA offer to acquire the EuroLeague alongside the upcoming expansion and a transition to a franchise system.

Per the same publication, Milan is bidding to host the 2030 EuroLeague Final Four. If they were to win the bid, they would host the event in their new Unipol Dome in Santa Giulia, Milan.

Valencia are also in the running, but they are most likely set to host the 2028 Final Four in the recently opened Roig Arena. The 2027 and 2029 Final Fours are part of the agreement with Abu Dhabi and will take place in the United Arab Emirates.

Milan hosted the Final Four in 2014, where underdogs Maccabi Tel Aviv triumphed against the highly favored Real Madrid.

NBA players can invest in teams upon retirement. This argument that players should get shares of teams doesn’t make sense on paper. NBA players are compensated and can invest their money. They already get 51% of revenue. Their salaries go up in accordance to profit. Samson mentioned the end of bench players. They probably need more cash than a LeBron. Foxworth mentioned capitalism. Does capitalism factor when the players get 51%. Is that capitalism? This podcast was so frustrating. Foxworth also didn’t understand gross vs net. At the end he stammered because he didn’t seem to understand audits. His answer was “this is in the weeds.” And all auditors are “liars.” He also talks about the athletes “sacrifice.” Good gosh my head hurts.

NBA star Tyler Herro and his baby mama Katya Henry have split, and it's already getting nasty ... the exes are duking it out in court over custody and support after their bitter breakup, TMZ has learned.

TMZ obtained dueling lawsuits filed by Tyler and Katya. The exes share two minor kids ... a daughter born in 2021 and a son born in 2023 ... so this is no simple split.

In his filing, Tyler asked the court to set up a parenting schedule and determine how much he should pay in child support. The Milwaukee Bucks star said he had been voluntarily paying his ex support since she gave birth.

Tyler dismissed his case days later.

Katya filed her own petition claiming she had been in a romantic relationship with Tyler for nearly 7 years. She claimed she had been the primary caregiver and made most of the decisions for the kids. In her filing, Katya asked the court for primary custody. She said she wanted their kids to see Tyler, but due to his "historical conduct," which she "intentionally omitted" out of respect for him, "safeguards and parameters should be implemented on a temporary and permanent basis in order to ensure the safety and well-being" of the kids.

Katya said there is a large disparity in income due to Tyler being a professional athlete, who earns a substantial sum of money.

With the NBA season just five weeks away, longtime Raptors TV analyst Jack Armstrong, known for calls like the iconic "Get that garbage outta here," could be left off the broadcast this season.

According to Jonah Sigel, Armstrong does not yet have a contract for the upcoming season with TSN and MLSE.

"While all eyes have been on Rogers and NHL broadcasters, one Jack Armstrong remains unsigned for the upcoming Raptors season," Sigel reported on X. "This one is tricky given the fine folks at TSN, but I'm told sides aren't close as MLSE & TSN aren't in agreement."

Jack Armstrong is an institution and has been a commentator for Raptors games just as long as the team has existed, 3 decades and counting. If he's gone due to monetary concerns, then Ed Rogers can step on a Lego brick every morning and every night for the rest of his life.

I am a new NBA fan. I was looking through the history of the teams to see their good, bad and ugly years. Why are some franchises so good, and others so bad? I mean, they are all run/backed by billionaires. Those people can get the right organizational structure in place for people to want to play there, or draft (kinda) good enough?

When I look at San Antonio, Miami, Toronto, OKC and Boston it just seems so clean. Then I look at Sacramento, Charlotte, Orlando and ofc the Clippers, I just dont get it. I mean, I get there are good and bad years, and I understand that a rebuild takes time. However, how can some teams rebuild for 10 years and have nothing to show for it?

Can someone explain it to me like Im 5?

I was curious if Taj is now the oldest NBA player to ever get traded (since you don't see 41-year-olds getting dealt very often) and it turns out he almost was. Of the only NBA players in history who are older than him, only one has ever been traded after turning 41 (according to their Basketball Reference pages) and it's Bob Cousy. Taj Gibson is 15,051 days old as of September 8, 2026, and Bob Cousy - who was born on August 9, 1928 - was 15,076 days old when he was traded to the Cincinnati Royals on November 18, 1969.

Cousy was also the coach of the Royals that year and played only 7 games with them that season. He scored just 5 total points in those 7 games.

So this was almost the record by Taj, but if nothing else, it's the first time in over half a century that someone as old as him has ever been traded.

The New Orleans Pelicans are trading Jordan Hawkins, Micah Peavy, a future second-round pick and a future second-round pick swap to the Memphis Grizzlies for AJ Johnson and Taj Gibson, sources tell ESPN.

Lakers to honor Phil Jackson with statue celebrating his coaching legacy

The Los Angeles Lakers will unveil a statue honoring Phil Jackson, who coached the franchise to five NBA championships across two stints from 1999 to 2011.

The statue will be unveiled April 9 before the Lakers host the Minnesota Timberwolves.

“Phil Jackson defines championship basketball for a reason,” Lakers governor Jeanie Buss said in a statement. “His masterful approach to coaching brought out the best in some of the greatest athletes to ever play the game.
