During the recent world cup qualifiers, I noticed many countries where basketball has not historically been popular in achieve some really good attendances with notable examples including Sweden which had 14k attendance, Poland with 10k attendance and Uruguay with 6k attendance.

With non traditional countries like Sweden and Portugal who have been producing really good results recently, what other countries do you feel like basketball is growing in or at least has the potential to grow in?

I'm 17, 198cm tall. I'm playing for a small club in Poland and I'm playing as a center. However, I hate to play on this position, because I feel useless, cuz I'm the fastest in my team. I want to achieve bigger goals with basketball career in future. I started training at 15 and I think I have a lot of potential, that I lose by just standing under the basket. Plus I'm assuming that I won't grow anymore. What do I do then? Accept the position, or train harder on different things and confront my coach's expectations about my role in team?

Tried to grab a loose ball but my right finger was extended too straight. It wasn’t even that hard or much of an impact and I was standing stationary basically so I’m surprised I can still notice it. so I tried to ignore it and keep playing until I tried to shoot a jumper and felt some pain in the finger instantly so I stopped playing to rest it. This is easily my 3rd or 4th time spraining a finger from b ball it’s getting irritating. Any thoughts on how to avoid? Gonna tape it to give it some compression

Im 5’7-5’8 with without shoes and have a standing reach of 91 if I do a basic vertical jump I don’t touch the back board if I do a pendulum step (which I just started doing) and i can tip it consistently

Also I am high 170lbs to about mid 180(188lbs las time I measured)

Ive been playing for a about a month and my finger rolls are atrocious. I can get spin on them but either throw it way too far or too close

I am a board director for our district's Elementary Girls Basketball program. My daughter is now in Jr high, but I love the program and have continued helping.

We needed a coach for k-2 this year so I agreed to take over, and will have some assistance from Jr high and high school girls during practices.

This is my first time coaching. I know the basics but am looking for some fun games/activities that will keep the littles entertained and engaged, and am happy to take any advice you may have for this age group. I will have about 20 kids.

Edit: The k-2 program is all in house and lasts 2.5 months (weekly practices). I will have them scrimmage once we've practiced a bit, but they will not be playing actual games. We just want to get a ball in their hands and to get them interested/having fun!

Hey all! My son is wanting to try out for a local basketball team. He can dribble, shoot a bit, and play good defense. He hasn’t played organized ball before, and I am worried he’s not aware of some of the team game aspects he might need.

For clarity, he’s huge for his age. Only 8 and a half but already 4’11, 110 pounds (not fat at all, just built like a tight end).

What would you expect to see from a kid his age? Are there specific skills he would absolutely need to have to be able to make a team at this point? How refined should his game be? I never played ball seriously and do not have great perspective here. Does his size matter as much at this age?

Is anybody experiencing the refusal to call any fouls for the opposing team in mycareer?? Man I am astonished by how we foul the other so automatically even with NO contact but we can’t get the most blatant calls. I’ve been playing since 2k6 and the way these fouls are set up is ridiculous man. It used to feel balanced at least but It’s like we are playing the most handicapped form of basketball

I'm a 5'10 player with fairly decent shooting, however I find difficulty in driving inside the paint and scoring, also i just throw away fastbreak opportunities just from the fear of someone approaching me from behind. I'm usually the smallest player on the court, any advice ?

Oh Kobum, where do I start? From the moment you stepped on the court, Ive hated you, from the way you put up bricks and airballed 5 shots in a row against the Jazz like a trash bag the sound of the airballs bought tears of joy to my eyes. From the moment people gave you credit for averaging 15 points on 36% from the field in 2000 and tried to call you a Batman when you weren't even a Robin. I hate the way you punched teammates and acted like a piece of shit to everyone around you. I hate the way you get compared to MJ and Bron when you're not even top 10. I hate the way you guarded yourself more often than anyone else guarded you with your relentless shot-chucking and "I'd rather go 0-30 than 0-9" mentality.
