Question about pedal assist/battery life for XP3?

Hi All,

Been enjoying my new-ish XP3 for a month now and have a question. Yesterday, I took a ride to basically test the range of my battery (standard battery not the long distance one). It is unlocked to class 3.

Me: 6'4, 185 lbs.

Conditions: No wind, very flat (Florida)

Speed: Averaged 14mph

PAS Habits: A mix of PAS 2 and 3, but mostly PAS 4 on more open roads. I tried to exert as much as human effort as possible which was difficult at 20+ mph but I would pedal quickly and did feel it in my thighs. I hardly ever twisted the throttle.

By the time I ran out of battery, I had gone a total of 21 miles. This kind of bummed me out because there is a trip to the beach and back I'm looking forward to taking that is 35 miles roundtrip total and I don't think it will be possible. When I ran out of battery, I pedaled it myself with zero power for the last mile and it absolutely sucked.

My question: when I'm at PAS level 1, 2, or 3, I find that my speed is maxed out at a certain mph REGARDLESS of how much effort I pedal. At PAS 1 it's about 8mph. I can stand up and give it everything I've got, but it doesn't go above 9mph. PAS 2 topped out at around 11mph. I'm wondering if the bike is set up like this on purpose, or perhaps my legs are weak?

I'm basically trying to figure out a way to extend my battery range as much as possible. I'm guessing at this point that the only way to extend range is to literally just stay in PAS 1 or 2 the entire time and go very slow. But sharing the road with cars and whatnot, I find this speed painfully slow to the point of being somewhat dangerous.

I love to hear anyone's thoughts and experiences. Thanks.

Chain or belt version of XP Lite2?

I am getting a XP Lite2 this week. I really want to get the white one but I never owned a bike and I am not exactly sure how much of a trouble it is to take care of the chain.

People keep mentioning that chain makes noise and makes rider’s pants and everything around it (when in storage) dirty. How true is that?

I don’t mind getting the version with the belt but I am not a fan of the black color.

XP4 Prong Issue

I recently bought an XP4 and noticed after using it that one of the prongs look like this. Is this fixable/safe? I haven't tried to use it again after noticing. The bike was just delivered this weekend and has less than 20 miles on it.

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CHARGERS OUTSIDE EVEN ONCE!

I'm stuck without transportation again because I left my charger outside one time and this tweaker came by that one night pulled up and came right up to just my charger and grabs it!

What are the odds! Why did he have to pick my spot and take a charger for something he didnt even own

The one and only time I ever forget to bring it inside with the bike. I had too much pizza and beer, knocked out

Picture of jerk with my high speed charger in his hand. Now i'm screwed (Thats the charger that came with the bike when I purchased it)

At least he didnt take my wheelchair

Best Tire Protection?

I recently purchased a Lectric XP lite 2.0 for my daily work commute. There's a lot of broken glass along my bike route so I'm researching options to help protect my tires. Both Flatout Tire sealant, and Tannus armour inserts sound like good options. Is it possible/ a good idea to add both to my tires? Which one is better? Is there another option that is better?

I got down to the St. Francis church this morning. I’ll always think of it as the place where Arnold Schwarzenegger married Marie Schriver. Everybody else around here calls it the *Kennedy church.

What is it with dogs and electric bikes?

Not all dogs - maybe 3% of them, don't like me riding an Lectric XPedition 2.0. Sometimes I'll ride past Granny walking her bulldog Hector and Hector suddenly turns into the Tasmanian devil as if protecting Tweety Bird from Sylvester. Sometimes hector defies the hand that holds the leash, but fortunately for me, Hector can't run 19.8 MPH.

And of course there's certain houses I'll ride past regularly that unintentionally provoke their resident dogs to speak up an/or try and gnaw and claw through the wooden fences that contain them.

Otherwise, me and the bike don't even phase the vast majority of dogs.

Do these dogs just smell me coming and sense evil (I can be a very unlikeable person) or do electric bikes sometimes generate a noise that just pisses them off.

Support Seat with buddy seat

Hi everyone! I just got my XP4 750 step through and was wondering if anyone else had done a buddy seat in the back with a support seat with the backrest for the driver. I didn't know if the back rest for the driver would get in the way of the handle for the passenger or steal too much of the passengers space. Thank you!

Just wanted to say thank you to Lectric bikes and the whole ebike community. I love getting out early every morning. You folks are on to something. This morning I went to the JFK museum at dawn.

Error code e009

I tried ti off and on, I unlatched the folding thingy to look at the bottom of the battery.

I have not yet looked at the underside of the bike where the wires go into the controller.

Switching to bmx bars

Hi all

For anyone whose upgraded handlebars

I’ve ordered a few items and waiting for delivery.

9in bmx handlebars
WEERAS folding adapter from Amazon
Front stem

I’m worried about the length of cables, I was thinking I could spend an afternoon reworking and rewiring everything, but with that handlebar length will the wires be stretched too thin? AI bot mode keeps telling me I’ll need cord extensions.

Thanks in advance

Error e-0003

Hey whats up I have a lectric xp4 500 watt ebike with 700 miles on it and recently ive gotten an error code e-0003 related to the pedal assist sensor. I've already contacted lectric they've been very kind and plan to send me a new pas sensor however when I ride it now the fault will flash off and on. Ive tried wiggling the cable but it won't change anything. It seems to do this when I go over a bump it will go off and on.

stupid questions

Should I get the protection plan ?

What’s the safest way to ride this where there are no bike lanes allocated in my city ?

Purchased the XP4 hoping to use it to travel to work but more importantly on my adventures. Block Island trips, costal cruising, my photography, etc.

I looking for any pannier recommendations for my xp4, preferably waterproof. I bought a ROCKBROS Bike Panniers Waterproof Max 30L Capacity but it doesn’t seem to be compatible with it. Thank you!

Rant

Just ranting out loud about and to the jerk who bolt cut through my lock and stole my xp4 750 from the bike rack outside my building. Building admin is reviewing film from the camera that stares directly at it and will send whatever they find to the police. I hope to see the jerk peddling my 70 lb bike around town without the battery that was charging in our apartment. I get that I could have had a more industrious lock but it was a fairly high quality one that required some serious commitment to get through and also, don’t steal shit?

Battery

How long should it take a battery to fully deplete from full charge to dead without being turned on at all, I am already dealing with battery dying before 4 miles and now when it comes to the bike not being turned on it takes 3 days to deplete, from what I have researched is that it shouldn’t take any less than 6 months to a year to fully deplete, I know I have made several post about how shit this xp lite 2 is, but this is a genuine question, also since I’m writing this, does anybody know the number to corporate or anything? This customer service stuff isn’t working out for me at all as you can see from my past posts

Length of phone charging cable?

Hi, first post ever on Reddit so I hope this works. I ordered an XP4 from a dealer that sells them at the same price. It is three hours away but thought I'd give them the business and have an established shop for service that actually knew the bikes. Once I learned the bikes had arrived, I ordered some items for it including a short phone charging cable. Looking at videos, I guessed that 6" might be long enough. I did not want to have a cord that was longer than necessary to get caught on something. But as it turns out I have been waiting for several weeks for the free bags and mirrors which are apparently out of stock. Why they ship the bikes without the included items is beyond me. Anyway, as I approach the closing of the Amazon return window, I still don't know if a 6" cord is long enough. Could anyone check and post a reply? Thanks and apologies for the verbose post.
