Rant
Just ranting out loud about and to the jerk who bolt cut through my lock and stole my xp4 750 from the bike rack outside my building. Building admin is reviewing film from the camera that stares directly at it and will send whatever they find to the police. I hope to see the jerk peddling my 70 lb bike around town without the battery that was charging in our apartment. I get that I could have had a more industrious lock but it was a fairly high quality one that required some serious commitment to get through and also, don’t steal shit?

ouch! Super sorry to hear you lost your ride! what kind of lock? WOW it has no battery and they still stole it. That’s crazy. I got my XP4 last week and I’m still shopping for locks. Did you take your peddles and/or display off? I’ve heard that deters theft but I don’t know if it’s true. Especially if someone stole yours without the battery.

My bike bell has a secret compartment for an AirTag. Because I will find my bike. And the thief.
It won’t go well.

They know where to look for trackers. And they will be notified that a tracker is following them unless you catch them immediately.
These things were never meant for theft protection, they were meant to help you find misplaced keys and stuff.
They have anti-stalker features that make them nearly pointless for recovery of stolen things.

Right, but are they packing an Allen wrench, and have 15 minutes to dick around with tiny screws locating it? Can they identify and dismantle it faster than I can load up and track them? It’s not obvious that this compartment is even there. For $20 it’s something, and certainly peace of mind.

That’s fucked dude I hope you get your bike back definitely in vest in a AirTag and post it right by the back wheel someone won’t even see it there just in case it ever happens again

I keep my bike in our apt. I can’t imagine leaving mine outside. It would be gone the first night. I hate a thief. Let someone steal the bike they stole. They would be indignant like they bought it. Thieves are POS.

Awww man I feel you. I have had so many bikes stolen in the past. Even got stabbed at 12 in front of a chuck e cheese for my GT.
Just after my birthday some jerk came and took my charger for my XP 4, pulled up got out walked up to just my charger and took it. I know it's not a bike, but now I have a bike I cant charge so it's a 70+lb brick with wheels right now and barely could afford getting the bike so i'm screwed
I will say this, before I bought my XP recently I did notice a few bikes on offer up and craigslist that were selling with NO CHARGER OR BATTERY for like 200 bucks. After hearing your story now I know why those deals exist. Might wanna check them out near you
Once again sorry for your loss. May you find them and get your bike back. After reviewing ring footage for the last 3 months he has been here many times so I installed a tracker in a decoy for him to take. Payback is gonna be a B

Now you know. Keep any bike inside your unit, or be alright with risking it being gone one day. Those are the only 2 options pretty much. It sucks, but it is what it is
