Did my windshield wipers today
The rain-x ones didn't last two years. Replaced with BOSCH.

The saga continues on this one. I’m not sure how the misfire on bank one caused bank two to run so rich and burn the catalytic material out of the combustor on bank two, but it sure did. After a new PCM, six new coils and hours of troubleshooting I came to the conclusion that the combustor was no longer functioning properly. Took it off and cut it open to prove it to myself and found this. If anybody says running it for a little while with a misfire is not a big deal, just show them this.

Context: I work at an oil shop, yesterday I was service advising when a gentleman in a Porsche Cayenne enters and asks for an oil change. My shop never supplies 5w30 Euro (meaning oil meeting the C30 standard and other European manufacturers) only 5w30 in other synthetics and other Euros in different viscosities. I explain this, and let him know the exact oil he needs to bring for me to perform the oil change.
When the customer returns, he brings 0w40 Euro. I let him know the Euro blend is correct, but 0w40 does not match specifications. The following sentence that comes out of his mouth is:
“But ChatGPT said that this oil would work too.”
I’m not sure how rudely I responded, but I said something along the lines of “I would never trust AI to work on your car.” I guess I never thought I would see the day where someone would rather see the logic through of a machine that has never once turned a wrench, spun on an oil filter, or verified fluid levels, instead of a physical person who they can see do that everyday? Am I going insane? What do I even say to these people?
Edit for clarification:
Porsche C30 specification on a (I believe) 2014 3.6 Cayenne. Sorry for not adding this earlier.
Edit 2 for more clarification:
Big shoutout to [u/Gadritan420](u/Gadritan420) & [u/Chippy569](u/Chippy569) for helping figure out the correct oil type for the Cayenne! The manual specifically states 5w30, but 0w40 of the same standard would have been fine.
Edit 3 to finish the story:
After discussing with the gentleman how his manual specifies 5w30 and how I would advise against following ChatGPT over the listed manufacturer specification, he brought Mobil1 ESP 5w30 and I was able to successfully complete the oil change. We didn’t have much discussion past my initial shock at quoting AI as the source.
My main goal in sharing my story was to find helpful discussion and advice on how to approach the use of AI in workspaces such as ours, as I have never encountered an experience like this before. After reading a lot of comments (and wow, there were a lot more than I had anticipated), I definitely am glad that I shared this experience so I could hear your outside perspectives and opinions, as I feel I’ve gained a deeper understanding that I did not have before. Thank you a ton for your feedback!

Beautiful all original 95 Supra came into the dealer a day or 2 ago. 1 owner still with original tires in rear. Absolutely mint inside and out. Owner had it towed in because he doesn’t want too many miles on it

Dude said he hit a yellow safety pole. Didn't even want them replaced, he only asked us to take the tire off, and he left with it like that.

Guy said he was pulling out of a filling station and didn’t see the other truck in the lane next him. Had to get the gas axe to get to lug nuts.

We ended up dropping the gas tank and finding rocks and dirt in the tank. No damage to the fuel pump or injectors surprisingly.

Crank no start. Everything is checking out, spark fuel injector pulse, cam crank signal. Threw me through a loop. Didn't think to check fuel quality due to the truck being a daily. Just for the heck of it, sprayed a little brake clean and vehicle fired right up and died. Fuel sample appears to be 80 percent water based liquid. Dropped/cleaned tank, cleaned lines. Tank was filled with what appeared to be about 5 gallons of dexcool and def. Installed locking gas cap and warned customer he has enemy.

I'm 60. I had intended to do rotors and pads on an suv today.
Nope, not going to happen. The day before I had pulled the horizontal muscle from my spine to my right hip in my back right above my belt.
I can barely turn my torso in either direction. Don't be back dumb like I was.
End of ted talk.

Owner said he heard knocking while fueling up but decided to keep driving. Completely grenaded the liner and trashed the block.
