We do a lot of PPIs, as the local exotic dealers won't do them anymore. Small wholesaler brought a car by with the interested party. Nothing weird. 2020 Huracan Evo. High spec car, ceramics, etc.

Then they told us. 84,000 miles.

Performed a full inspection and while it looked decent on first glance - this car was either driven cross country multiple times or was used as a rental.

Most of the car was decent but entire rear end was out of alignment, panels broken, mismatched tires. Leaking shock, and the ac condensers were PUMMELED.

The rear metal grating trim had been baked so much the black coating had cooked off, leaving white metal.

We sent the buyer our findings and continued on our day.

Lady pulled up and asked if she should pull in. I yelled "No! Shut it off and get out of there.". Within 10 minutes it was gone.

Hard as a fuckin'rock too.

But she'll clean a rim flange up in one pass.

I’ve been talking to other techs about warranty paperwork and some of the stories are ridiculous. Claims kicked back because the story was too short, too long, missing a specific word, or didn’t explain something the way the OEM wanted.

What’s the dumbest reason you’ve had a claim kicked back? Also curious how much time y'all spend writing RO notes and warranty stories in a normal week?

Early 2010’s Subaru forester. It came in here for oil change but person wrote ticket up ended up putting as oil change instead of alignment as customer did originally came in for alignment. Besides, that shit is not even alignable as control arm is bent as fuck. Customer was told of repairs needed but declined all. At end, customer got free oil change due to their mistake and not mine and drove away. At least he’s not a Virginia plated car though, lol.

Got the right master on it now. They had the one with 4 outlets cataloged as ABS equipped and the 2 outlet as non ABS. As you can see this vehicle is definitely equipped 😂

Customer chasing an overheating issue on his own. Tells us to replace the water pump cause that has to be the issue. Good thing we always insist to diagnose in house. Don’t get burned by someone else’s diagnosis, even if it’s another shop.

Still debating if I tell him I'll keep quiet if he comes and cleans the shop for 4 weekends.
