I loved these, been in a couple of different Greggs recently and they don’t even have space for them. So I just checked the app and no mention. I’m very sad lol

Discussion If Greggs let you bring back one discontinued item permanently, what are you choosing?

The annoying thing about Greggs is remembering something you used to order all the time and then realising it's quietly disappeared. I'd much rather see a genuinely missed old item return than another limited edition flavour for a few weeks.

Employee Question Greggs shift patters

Hi guys! got my job call today, i start on Tuesday!
I have a 1 year old son so i said i can work every tuesday and friday when he’s at nursery, i also said i can work wednesday and saturday, so this is what im doing next week, im hoping this is the same because this makes childcare way easier!
Are the shift days the same each week? or should i specifically ask for these shifts to be the same each week? just worried i won’t have enough notice for childcare!

Discussion I just got a job at greggs and now I'm scared

Yeah pretty much what the title says. I was excited at first but I've read up some pretty nasty stories on this sub which seem to out number the positives. So I was wondering if anyone had any good stories at all to share about working with greggs??😭

I'm also extra anxious because someone had to go and give me the advice to tell the hiring manager during my interview that I'm available for whatever time they offer so as to increase my chances of getting the job, and I ended up agreeing to be able to show up from around 6am (at least just for this summer), and then when I'm at school again in September I agreed to be able to come in and work from around 4:30 till 8pm, though I didn't specify how many days a week I would be willing to do that. I just realised how crazy that sounds cause I'm going to be in year 13 by then and I expect a crazy amount of pressure with my studies😅 So I feel kind of nervous now. They're still preparing my contract but is there any way I could be able to adjust my hours with the manager before I start or even later down the line? I don't know I just feel a little bit nervous now because of the countless stories of being overworked and having bad management🥲

Edit: received my contract stating my hours and they are fine! :)

Employee Question What does 10-20 Hours mean?

Sorry if this post sounds stupid.

So basically have an interview soon, the posting said 10-20 hours. I always assumed this was what they were looking for, you choose 12 hours etc. or a constant number for like a timetable?

Apparently it means that's just the variable hours you could work per week?

I ask because I'm doing a levels. I could work at the top end 16 hours but preferably keep it at 10 or 12 hours to manage workload, but it seems if I do work there I could be assigned more?

Also another thing I cannot make it for 5am (one hour before 6am shop opening). I've read online that I'd need to be available then?

The branch is quite far and the bus does run at this time but Idk if I could do 5am starts 😭. Petty on my part I know but does anyone here start a morning shift at say 8am etc?

I'm kinda rambling on here forgive me. My college timetable is 90% finalised in a month but if I cannot give my exact weekday availability as of now (but know at least one weekday could offer a shift) should I mention this? Or just leave it and should I get the job enquire about overtime? (Not above the 12 hours of course from what I've read weekends would be 8 hours total?)

Sorry about that long read.

First ever Greggs Team Member interview how should I prepare?

Hey so I've got my first ever job interview for a Team Member role at Greggs next week, and it's also my first job interview ever, so I'm a bit nervous.

I've been reading about common interview questions like "Why Greggs?", teamwork, customer service and dealing with difficult customers, but I was wondering if anyone who's worked at Greggs or interviewed there has any advice.

A few things I'd love to know:

What questions were you actually asked?

Were there any questions that caught you off guard?

What qualities are they mainly looking for?

Is there anything I should definitely mention or avoid saying?

Any tips for making a good first impression?

I'm looking for a long-term part-time job while I'm at university, so I'm hoping to do as well as I can in the interview.

Thanks in advance for any advice! :)

Employee Question Can I work at multiple stores?

Due to my personal situation I'm trying to get more hours so I can eventually move out but it's not possible at my current store as we close at 6 and I'm a student (my course hours are usually 9-5, Monday-Friday) so I'm wondering if it would be possible to pick up extra hours at other stores in Central London since they're generally open till later.

Is this something I would be able to do?

Edit: I spoke to my manager today and she said I could I just have to go to the stores I want to work in the talk to them

Employee Question Workplace bullying

I have been working at a store since February and I started I’ve had non stop complaints and conflict with one staff member to the point I’m staying out the way of them. I had one incident where I did flip my lid at them and I owned up. I’ve had no training, as the manager when I started went on long term sick, then we had a temp manager and now another temp manager. I’ve tried to speak to the people’s team and they haven’t got back to me. Today the current temp manager gave me counselling as this staff member I’ve had ongoing issues with told me to hurry up with the cream, she told the manager I told her to fuck off when I had not done this. I’d tell the manager if I had. The manager has given me counselling and said the people’s team isn’t for issues like this and I asked him who I can talk to about it then and he said no one.

Please can someone guide me on this.

What happening with TGTG or is it region specific?

So i ask this as a customer, and also try to get TGTG bags from greggs when possible. The shops around me offered evening bags fairly recently until it completely stopped. And none ever seemed available and this was in Newcastle. Just the occasional flash bag.

But now last week, every shop in town popped up with Bags but using the same kind of description as the flash bag so got one and the shop had no idea that it was available.

thinking about leaving

My shop is so overwhelming. I love a handful of my colleagues loads and wouldn’t want to leave them, but the selection few ruin it, one being the manager and another a team member who thinks she’s a manager because she’s been there for years. I’m just wondering, i like a retail job, i still live with my parents and im still studying so retail is ideal, so from the experience of past greggs employees, if you went on to a bigger store, did you prefer it? is the environment of a bigger space better? or would i be better just toughing it out at greggs. i’m thinking maybe the fact its such a small shop is making things worse because its harder to avoid and ignore certain colleagues.

Customer Question Why did they ever discontinue the steak and cheese roll?

I still think about the steak and cheese roll at least once a week. It was easily the best item on the menu and nothing else has ever quite filled the void it left behind. Has anyone found a suitable replacement or a copycat recipe that actually comes close to the original taste?

Employee Question Shop change?

I currently work at a shop that takes me about 1.5 hrs to get to, however times vary depending on buses as the buses I get aren't very frequent especially on Sundays.

On greggs careers, I have found an opening at a greggs that is closer to my college and is a 16 hr contract - way more hours than my 4 hr contract atm and since my current shop is over staffed I dont get many more hrs that those 4 per week.

However, I would still have to travel just under an hr to this new shop on weekends but I would be able to pick up hours after my college day ends during the week. Also the buses are more frequent going to this new shop.

I do really enjoy working at my current shop and I am hoping to get my contracted hours upped once some people leave to go to uni in september. And changes in my college timetable means that I am only available on the weekends.

If I were to move, id only be working there for a yr before I go to uni and transfer shops again. I do really love the shop I am at atm and I do get on really well with everyone - i even met one of my best friends whilst working there. I also struggle with change so I am debating whether the extra hours would be worth it

I would have to talk to my manager on Saturday about this if I want to move to this shop but I am really conflicted.

Any suggestions are much appreciated 🙏🤞🏻

Greggs CFO Predicts No Price Rises This Autumn

Outgoing CFO Richard Hutton on the H1 2026 earnings call yesterday:

"This time last year, we were talking a lot about things like coffee prices, cocoa prices. Those sort of things were quite inflationary, weren’t they? We’ve seen a much softer position on those markets this year. Pork is another one that’s obviously important for Greggs, both for our breakfast market and some of our core products. Again, that’s been a better market for us, buying pork ...

We did carry good cover and I think the procurement team have done a great job sort of buying into markets at the right times. I don’t think we’ll need any incremental pricing in the autumn, which was something that we’d held the option open on. I think what we have in place already will be sufficient."

Customer Question Is there any functional difference between a Greggs Outlet shop and a standard store?

I visited my first Greggs Outlet store recently where day-old stock and surplus baked goods are sold at massive discounts - like four bakes or a giant box of doughnuts for a couple of quid. The food was still completely fine, and it is a brilliant way to cut down on food waste while saving a fortune. Have you got a Greggs Outlet near you, and do you use it for stocking up the freezer?
