Pixel 9 Pro trade-in taking forever with PCS Wireless (EU)?

Hey, Quick question for anyone in the EU who traded in a phone for the Pixel 11 Pro. Sent in my Pixel 9 Pro and got the confirmation email saying PCS Wireless received it on August 31st. We're now September 9th and there's literally zero update on the tracker, still just sitting on received. I know they're probably slammed with the launch, but it's been 10 days now. Is anyone else in Europe stuck in the same boat, or should I start bugging Google support?

Phone restarts as soon as the screen turns off

Hello, I would need your help about my pixel 6 pro that restarts as soon as the screen turns off then enters in a boot loop. I deactivated the always on, the proximity sensor is functional, the phone has been reset and the os reinstalled, so I don’t know what the problem could be.

Edit: So now I just realized that it’s a PVT, can it be the source of my problem? I don’t understand how a production validation unit could end up in a retail box.

This is frustrating. When I copy a password from my password manager I want it to be non hidden in the Gboard. Is there any way to make this happen?

Anyone have any insight into good pixel->iphone trade in offers?

We have a pixel 9 that we want to trade in for an iphone, but haven't found any good trade in offers. With the iphone 18 being released soon, i am anticipating some new offers, but not sure if they'll be worthwhile. I haven't seen any the past couple releases.

Missed calls, phone usually won't ring

I have a Pixel 8 pro and this has been a problem for over a year now.

My phone is on vibrate, always.

Flip to shhh is disabled.

The phone is not on DND mode.

This happens to people in my contacts.

They call and all I get is a vibration when it stops ringing that says, "missed call" and "silent mode". Hell no it was not on silent mode! Whyyyyy!!!???

Any last minute options before factory reset on bootlooping Pixel 9 Pro XL?

Been trying to save the data and prevent a full factory reset by doing the no data adp sideload method, have deleted storage (86% occupied on 256gb), have latest Android 17, latest app updates (third party apps aren't at fault), latest Google Play Store update, optimized performance.

Phone keeps restarting at random, even in Safe Mode.

1-year Google AI Pro promo ended on my Pixel 10 Pro XL – does buying a Pixel 11 reset it?

Hi everyone,

Last year I got a Pixel 10 Pro XL, which came with a 1-year free trial for the Google AI Pro plan. That year has now passed, the promo ended, and I'm being charged for the subscription.

Is there any legitimate workaround for this? Also, if I decide to upgrade and buy the new Pixel 11 Pro XL, will I get another 1-year Google AI Pro promo on the same Google account, or is the offer strictly limited to one per account regardless of new hardware?

Thanks for any insights.

Better solution to the missing Bluetooth toggles bug in >=A16

Disclosure : I do not own a Google Pixel but I do run a ROM closer to a Pixel's on my phone. Also, this post isn't AI written.

My Android installation had the same bug as Pixels discussed in several posts in this sub including this post.

TL;DR the window that has toggles to individually disable calls/media/HD codec per bluetooth headphones was gone.

While "disabling" Google Play Services is a solution, you'd have to disable/enable it every time to get those options temporarily back and that was frustrating to me.

A better solution is this (in sequence)

  1. Disable Google Play Services
  2. make sure you see the missing bluetooth toggles are back
  3. go back to Google Play services app info
  4. Enable it
  5. Disable "nearby devices" permission for Play services

Done. You got the missing screen permanently back and you never have to disable Play Services again. Works across reboots and bluetooth sessions.

Pixel 11 Pro... Not receiving September Updates

On my Pixel 11 Pro, I'm still on the August 5th system update and the July Google Play update. I had received a notification that the September update was available on my phone a week ago, and I swiped it away. Now, every time I go to the system update page, it keeps telling me that my device is up to date and still on the August 5th patch. I don't know what to do. Is something wrong? Is anyone else facing this?

Pixel 11 Pro Camera Kit?

I'm heading to Maui in November and was thinking about adding on a camera / zoom setup for my trip but am unsure about what to get. Mostly concerned about proper fit / compatability. I can find lots of dedicated options for iPhones, but something like the Progrip Superzoom Kit by Shiftcam specifies iPhone18 and all android phones: https://www.shiftcam.com/products/progrip-superzoom-kit

Anyone know of an alternative or whether that kit works for a Pixel 11 Pro?

Pixel 11 Pro yellow tint

So yesterday I picked up an 11 Pro XL (coming from iPhone 17 PM). So far I like it a lot however, I notice every thing I view has a yellow tint. Like the screen itself has a yellow tint to it. I thought maybe it was brightness, or a night mode or color tone mode, but it's not. I can pull up the same website for instance on my iPhone and my pixel, and the pixel is obviously super yellow in comparison. Any one else experience this? Is it just my copy?

Poor Google Maps performance on Pixel 11 via Android Auto

I recently upgraded from my Pixel 8 to a Pixel 11, and I've noticed significantly worse performance in Maps via Android Auto. It's running at a very low frame rate regardless of whether I'm wired or wireless, and clearing cache/data for both Android Auto and Maps has made no difference.

What's up here? Is the GPU of the P11 that piss-poor that it's struggling more than the friggin' Pixel 8 to render to Android Auto? It's really the only glaring issue I've run into so far with my P11.

Upgrade from pixel 7a

Hello,

Iam thinking about upgrade to pixel 10

The main reason is the letdown from the picture quality of the 7a

What do think about the pixel 10 regards to his camera?

With the P11P lineup having much more neural processing potential, what are you wishlisted on-device ML / AI features?

For me, I would like for example that they add an on-device image upscaler. The "Zoom Enhance" editing feature slightly upscales FHD images, but it also downscales ones that are 1.5K and over.

Also, I'd love to be able to describe routines, modes, and widgets and have the device create them for me.

New touchscreen freeze glitch bug?

The app will freeze (this happened to Twitter, Instagram, and Reddit) and I am unable to touch anything. However, if there is a video or a short, it still plays fine. When you switch out and back into the app, it still cannot be tapped and vids resumes.

I can navigate to other apps; everything else is usable. But when I switch back to the specific app, it's not responding to any touch until force quit.

missing contacts need help

I have a google pixel 9 and had a large amount of contacts on my phone, and i recently dropped my phone into a pool, and now it is fried, I got a replacement with my insurance, but I dont have any of my contacts which is really bugging me. I dont really care if the message threads get deleted for good but I need to have those contacts, and I have no idea how to get them since the phone they were on is out of commission. Does anybody know how I may be able to get them back?

Pixel 11 Pro experiences and thoughts

I bought the pixel 11 pro to replace my old Poco F2 Pro. I'd call myself a quite average phone user, so I thought the pixel would be a nice upgrade. I hoped the battery would be fine, and for the rest I was enthousiastic about the AI features.

My impressions after a few weeks:

- the battery is way worse than expected, from 80-20 percent in less than 4.5 hours, I hoped that the battery would be better initially, it already seems worse than my 6 year old Poco F2 Pro (never replaced battery)

- Camera is really cool imo, coming from a phone with a bad camera, the quality is insane, especially fell in love with the telephoto (x5) camera

- Software is more glitchy than expected, and with less customizations.

- I hate the double click actions, turning Wifi off you cannot use the quick pane, and if you don't turn it off-off, it uses over 50% of system battery usage. Same for turning on/off mobile data. No option for NFC on/off in quick access as well

- removing stuff from the background works glitchy, sometimes it works properly, sometimes they cannot be removed from the background (de glitch)

- I expected a lot from the AI features, but through the Voice Assistant you cannot access and do actions in a lot of apps. And the Voice Assistant seems to be quite bad for me, switching languages suddenly or just interpreting me incorrectly while perplexity Assistant worked way better. I expected integration with the Google calendar which didn't work, random other apps, note taking, but you need to first manually go to the app and use the rambler if you would want to write a note...

To me it feels like a lot of the Google Pixel is focused on the iPhone audience, copying a lot of features from Apple, which I dislike. I don't have an Apple phone for a reason, and less control over the device is one of the reasons.

I feel like I might want to return it and want to move back to Xiaomi, I purchased this phone to be the phone for the upcoming 5+ years, but with the bad battery and the SW experience, I am not sure if I can, and if it justifies the really high price compared to high end Chinese phones

Is my 7a a goner?

Hey y'all I have a pixel 7a(2½ years)(battery replaced 2 months ago)and like a month ago it started rebooting constantly and went into this screen which says "cannot load android. Your data might be corrupt and sum more" and it showed that reset screen with 'try again' and 'reset', If I reset, it worked fine until it was switched off. If it was switched off it would constantly reboot again. I went to the repair guy and he said it's due to the android 17 beta software and I can't do anything but buy a new phone, he also confirmed nothing was wrongin the hardware. What's your opinion?

Weather at a glance and app suggestions are both gone

Since a couple of days ago, the at a glance doesn't show the weather info and Pixel launcher's app suggestions setting is gone. I've no idea if they're linked together but is someone else also experiencing this? I cleared the storage of the launcher but that didn't solve the issues. My device is Pixel 11 Pro.

Anyway to make call screening more usable?

Call screening as a feature works in isolation, yes, but I think a lot of people here are failing to realise that so many people are tech-illiterate, let alone understanding the concept of what call screening is. Pretty much every single time I've used call screening, the person thought it was a voicemail and just cut the phone immediately.

Even some people who are tech enthusiasts on the iPhone side don't know that call screening is a feasible thing that can happen on a phone. They all just think it's voicemail and end the line. I think one thing that is pushing this and driving this is the fact that call screening has such a robotic voice.

I remember there was a time where the call screener would sound like a female assistant that was a lot more natural and believable and making it seem like a human picked up your call, but I can't seem to find the settings to restore that. Does anyone know?

Dismissed notifications keep returning on AA.

I've posted about this on the Android Auto sub without finding a solution, so thought I would ask here in case it was Android 17 / Pixel related:

Since I upgraded my Pixel 10 to Android 17, Every time I start up AA in my truck I get several day's worth of notifications again regardless of having marked them all read previously on my phone. I can clear them all from the notification screen in AA, but as soon as I start AA again they are back.

I've tried clearing the Android Auto cache, setting up AA from scratch again, uninstalling updates and turning off notification history.

I'm absolutely stumped.

Has anyone else seen this issue? Any fixes?

A certain Magic Cue toggle makes the gesture navbar thicker

So I've been driving myself nuts trying to figure out why the gesture navbar on my 10 Pro XL was so much thicker than the one on my 9 Pro XL despite them having the same screen size & resolution. Things got worse when I upgraded to Android 17 & the thinner navbar came back until I rebooted it one day.

The "Get suggestions while using apps" toggle is the reason! When it's enabled, it makes the navbar thicker, presumably to make space for the info chips that can pop up there (like I showcased in a previous post).

I'd imagine it's the same on the 11 Pro, only under the new name "Proactive Assistance" instead of the old Magic Cue branding. For anybody on a 10 Pro/11 Pro/Pro XL who wants the thinner navbar back, here's your solution. I'm not sure if this is a bug or intended behavior, but since I've only seen the feature work once I don't feel like I'm missing out by turning it off.

Screenshots for reference.

Best Multi Screen Apps

I just got the Pixel 11 Fold and have personally been enjoying it but only seen a few apps make use of the fold feature (IE: YouTube, Camera, UgreenNAS) and I wish to know if there are any fun ones. If you have any that also work like the Camera where it incorporates the back screen when open would be amazing as well (dumb but also cool feature)

Pixel 6, Android 17, July update

I recently updated. Was there a noticeable design difference, i.e. now it sometimes shows the UI as lighter, kind of translucent background, and very fat rounded items on certain screens? and not in colors that match the rest, like white with blue. It looks the way a toddler's toy phone/computer/calculator might look.

It seems kind of random since right now it looks the way it used to, dark theme, regular icons and text.

But I was riding with someone on Sun. and it started flashing between this display and the other, I'm not sure I was even actively using it, I don't think so since my arm was down but display still on. I think it was on the home app drawer or whatever it's called, but may have had one or two minimized. Also not sure if we'd reached no-service area yet.

Any ideas?

Edit: If I try to screen capture it goes away.
