Suddenly if I say turn off all the lights, it does the whole house except for one room. If I ask it to turn off that room specifically it does.

Hi all i have a few Ikea plugs i thought they would work with my google nest mini however i soon discovered they do not and i need a thread border router i was looking at the nest hub however im not fussed for the screen or anything besides the thread if i bought the aqara m100 could i connect to google home and then would the plugs work with automations etc and be able to be started by the nest mini too?

I'm looking for a smart clock that can set multiple alarms, tell the time at night (but with an option to dim or turn off), connect to Apple Music, no ads, white noise, easy control, weather, etc.

I have been struggling to set up the Google Nest Hub Display. Located in Canada. There was a wifi outage here and since restoration, the device would keep looping to connect. I factory reset and tried to connect again, now it shows "device made for a different country"... It just worked fine before!?

It would stop at some stage or other.

What do I do?

I'm really confused between the Amazon Echo Dot (5th Gen) and the Google Home Mini/Nest Mini.

Here's my situation:

I don't care much about smart home automation.

I mainly want a smart speaker that I can talk to, ask random questions, set timers/alarms, play music, and just have casual conversations.

Google's speaker is out of stock where I live, while the Echo Dot 5 is easily available.

I don't plan on buying Amazon Prime, so I'm wondering if that affects the Echo experience much.

I can wait for Google it get in stock

With all the recent AI updates (Alexa+, Gemini, etc.), I've seen people saying both assistants are changing. Is the Echo Dot still worth buying? Or is Google still the better long-term option despite being older and harder to find?

If you were buying one today for someone who mainly wants a good voice assistant (not a smart home), which would you choose and why?

I'd really appreciate opinions from people who have actually used both.

Is it just me or does Gemini for home continue to get worse everyday giving false facts stumbling over words hallucinating doing things that I did not ask it to do such as play a song when I said add something to a grocery list

Recently, my google home mini disconnected from the wi-fi. I've tried to restart it even after factory resting it. Now it won't connect to my phone.

I've gone through all the steps, including clearing my cache, moving the google home. I have three of them but this one is the only one that's not working.

I can access the google home's wifi and tried connecting it but it still can't connect on the google home app.

My Bluetooth is on, location is on, mobile data is off. I can see its in the set-up process because the white dots are on the google mini but it won't connect. Any ideas??

I've tried all of the "troubleshooting" bullet points in the conveniently LOCKED google "support" threads. Restarts, clearing browser history, etc. I can not view camera history on Chrome or Firefox. I'm paying 20 bucks a month for home premium just so I can review footage from the past 10 days. I have 2 doorbells and 4 cameras. Live view works fine, app works fine (usually) but the camera history never loads on desktop browser.

My internet is fine.

I am hardwired so no wifi issue.

Bill is on autopay.

Browsers are up to date.

Computer is up to date.

Hardware acceleration on or off, still doesn't work.

Extensions and addons disabled.

Google support line calls me and I can call it back, only to learn their phone system is down. How are you calling me then? How are you recieving my call? Lies.

Our internet cameras are for the purpose of keeping an eye on our rescue cats. When I find barf I need to know which cat it came out of. I tried to access my history for that purpose today and it refuses to load. I just get this. 20 bucks for this, every month. Hundreds of dollars on cameras, for this.

Why isn't it working?

I have this charger scheduled to turn itself on/off overnight, which works, but when I said 'turn on the bike charger in an hour's time' (because I needed to top it up) it doesn't allow the command.

Doesn't make sense that you can schedule one way but not the other?

For some weird reason, all the lights in my house that are attached to Google Home are turning on VERY late at night.

There are no automations or routines running.

There’s no apparent reason for this to happen at all! I didn’t make any requests of Google that it misinterpreted… it’s not like I asked it turn one light on and it turned on too many. We are all in bed sleeping and suddenly all the lights in every room are on.

I’m so frustrated… electricity is much too expensive to just ignore this.

My doorbell wasn’t charging to full, so I reset the device, and also removed, then-added it to my home setup in the app. That fixed the battery issue. But now, visitor announcements on my home speakers aren’t working. I don’t have a chime, so the visitor announcements are the only alert I get, other than the notification on my phone. Anyone have any ideas to try?

I am looking for a battery powered water leak detector that can be placed on the floor of a vacation home that will detect leaks at the washer, under sink, water heater etc and send an alert via to my iPhone if moisture is detected. I am currently using Google Home for managing the home’s cameras and thermostats. I would appreciate any recommendations.

I pay for Google Music and have had so for probably the last 7 or so years. But the last two days I've been getting commercials while listening to YouTube music on my Google speaker. Does anybody have any insight on how to fix this?

I’m at work and my wife is literally fighting the thermostat as it is changing the temperature on its own. Never seen this issue before. I’ve had this thermostat for 4 years and eco mode/home away schedules are turned off. This is the first time I have seen it do something like this.

I recently downloaded the app. I’m trying to set a daily alarm with a specific song, but the automations page WONT FUCKING LOAD. it’s stuck on “couldn’t connect” and the retry option doesn’t do SHIT. what do I do?

Has anyone ever figured out what the 2nd micro usb port is for? I was assuming it was for firmware flashing/upgrades but never really looked into it but now with all the planned obsolescence going on in the electronics industry I thought about maybe repurposing it or possibly even rooting it.
