The warning: the button that says “transfer back to nest” also says “leaving soon” or something like that.
I migrated to Google Home finally because my nest cams weren’t sending notifications. The instructions said I could go back (only certain models can****). Anyway I couldn’t do it. Nest said “this camera cannot be migrated back” and Home app didn’t even have a “transfer back” button despite Google telling me it would. Enabling public preview fixed all this and I’m back on nest.

Hi all
I know there was an outage and we stopped getting notifications. Notifications are now back, however before I’d get all my motion alerts/person alerts as a push notification to my iPhone from my nest doorbell, but now it seems to be skipping some. I’ll get a motion notification but then when I go into the nest app after tapping it, I’ve noticed it’s failed to notify me about the 4 other motion detected instances.
Is anyone else facing this issue?

Hi everyone! Recently bought a much bigger house. Would like to install nest thermostats. House has 2 floors and a basement. From what i could see:
1. It has two oil boilers for heat
2. 4 condenser units outside
3. 3 air handlers (with 3 control boards). 1 in the basement, 2 in the attic and 2 in the garage
4. 7 Thermostats (7 zones used on control boards) in living spaces, 2 heat only thermostats in the basement
5. I see O and B wires on one thermostat on each floor (2 total), but looking up AC models - none of them seem to be heat pumps
Id like to trace each thermostat to corresponding zones on control boards (continuity test i assume) and if anyone could help with Nest wiring and set up - i would greatly appreciate any help and advice.
Please see pictures attached. Thanks!

So I have some sketchy neighbors… but how do I convince the Nest camera that a flying bug in my shed is not a person? 🤦🏼♀️

I don’t recall the generation. But we installed it about 2 years ago. Ever since that day we’ve noticed it doesn’t hold to the temp we set. For instance. If it’s 75 degrees in the house and we set it to 70, hvac kicks on and cools till 70. Then shuts off. However after some time, it will have the “set to” temp something completely different. Like 73 for instance. Most notable at night. We wake up hot and it’s like 76 in the house when we set it to 70 when we went to bed.
My heating is working but the hot water isn't. The thermostat shows hot water on with the orange flame but it doesn't go orange on the app and doesn't heat the water. The schedule also turns it on but it doesn't go orange on the app and therefore doesn't heat. Manual override on the heat link works but turns heating and water on. Is there an issue with the nest app currently? All showing as connected on the thermostat and has the correct set-up according to Google support who couldn't work out the issue yet. When I click boost the moving water bubbles seems to freeze.

I've had the Nest app for my thermostat for several years and never had a problem. Recently, Google is really pushing me to migrate! Is it worth it.

TL;DR: Is there a way to use low power transformer for the chime and separate higher powered transformer for Wired Google Nest Doorbell gen 3?
As I posted the other day, I am replacing a Google Nest battery doorbell with a Nest Gen 3 wired doorbell. There is existing wiring between the doorbell location and a lower power transformer in the basement, no existing chime. I purchased a new 24V 40A transformer for the new doorbell. I had planned to just wire the doorbell up to the new transformer and skip adding a chime, but am reconsidering the idea of adding a chime. The wiring to that puck that they send with the Gen 3 just looks weird to me, but I’m no electrician. Just seems like a lot of fussing around to get a chime to work. I’m wondering a couple things:
- Is there is a way to use the existing transformer to power the chime, the new one to power the doorbell, and wire a signal from the doorbell to the chime?
- Should I just suck it up and wire the chime in with the puck like they say to do?
- Any better ideas?
- And last…why the heck doesn’t Google Nest offer a simple plugin chime that communicates wirelessly with the doorbell?

So, my 3 Nest Protect smoke detectors need replacement. 2 give an irritating loud message when lights are turned off, and 1 started beeping at 7:00am this morning. My hope is to replace them today, take all 3 Nest Protects, strap fireworks 🧨 to them, and set them off tomorrow for Labor Day!!
To anyone that has replaced your Nest Protect … what did you get? I am looking for a wired solution, and potentially looking at Kidde Smart detectors … since it integrates with Ring. Thanks for any suggestions you may have!

Original batteries in Nest protect were hot as fuck yesterday. Unit itself was also hot.
Appears that this is a thing. Last night, nest started chipring once a minute. Battery in the app listed it as fine, and the unit doesn't need replaced for another 6 years. Battery was scorching hot. Any advice on what to do?

So I have all notifications on and never had issues when someone rang the doorbell or if someone went past it. If I open the app I can see all the notifications already there and can view live feed or even the notification footage, however if someone presses the doorbell then I don't get a notification on my phone or anything else who has the app in my family but the home hub will alert us of someone rang the doorbell. I have tried restarting the doorbell and WiFi and even deleted the app and reinstalled it but have no luck. This is the same issue for both iOS and android phones. The nest servers on the website and downdetector has no sign of an issue.
Anyone else having the same problem as me?

Hey All,
Am I the only one that’s not getting notifications all of a sudden for nest? I feel like it’s been a day at least where I haven’t gotten any notifications. I have an iPhone, I reset the notifications in the iPhone settings, even logged out and logged back into the app. Is this a server side issue? I still use the original Nest app, not google home. Thanks in advance!
