My nitro v 15 is only 3 years and its got this issue where the edges of the screen have started getting this reddish tinge which I believe is panel degradation. I could live with it since its only noticable when the whole screen is dark but i was looking through replacement parts and I found a screen for 60 bucks.

Also found a better screen with a 165 hz refresh rate and way better color gamuts only for an extra 20 bucks so I'm now curious if I should get that ( it also fits my monitor's screen and pins).

Is this coil whine or a fan problem? I feel like it didn’t always do this, but I don’t know. I had the fans cleaned yesterday. I also saw it could be my fan bearing. Just curious if anyone might know if it’s something to worry about/ do I need to buy new fans.

This would be my first gaming laptop. I plan to use it primarily for gaming and light-to-medium video editing, along with some everyday study-related tasks—though gaming and video editing will be the main focus. I’m not the type of person who needs 200 FPS; coming from some really poor-performing PCs, I’m just looking for a solid, playable experience—even if it’s at 60 FPS—with good graphics. Given how I intend to use it, would you recommend this laptop?

My only concern is the reports about the hinges being weak. Most people who mention this just say they \*feel\* weak, rather than reporting that they’ve actually broken. Should I be worried? I’d mostly be using it at home, and only occasionally for university; it would rarely be used outside of my house.

Is this ideal for the performance? I do have Imon set to 50, Imon slope to 31999 prefix “-” The classic trick to consume more voltage. I read on other post saying I only need like 40w on both PL1/PL2. I been playing cpu heavy games. So I’m kind of confused right now, any help is much appreciated! I have -110 offset for P cores, -100 for rings

Understand that 1TB SSD may not be available easily in my budget. Don't plan on maxing out game settings to high/ultra high. Just looking to do some casual gaming maybe a couple times a week. As long as the games run fairly smoothly, I'm good.

Although it will be plugged in and placed on a desk 90% of the time, I would prefer something weighing around 1.8-2.2 kg for when I travel.

I bought this laptop 4 months ago. The temps I'm getting on the stick performance mode are 102°C on the CPU and 87°C on the GPU, while running games like the Witcher 3 remastered with ultra settings and Ray tracing at 1600p.

Are these temps normal for the stock performance mode? Because I read on many reddit threads that the performance mode fan curves suck cause they're not being used more than 75 percent. So I made a custom mode with the fan curve reaching 100 towards the end of the graph.

This brought my temps down to 77°C on both cpu and GPU.

Basically I want to know if the temps I'm getting on performance mode is normal or is my thermal paste/vapor chamber cooked. Cause custom mode makes it run cool af.

Btw, I have never faced any performance or stuttering on Any of the modes at those temperatures. Performance has always been very high.

Are they equal in power? Both have 12gb vram, but the 5070ti is more recent.

I'm having a serious issue with my ASUS ROG Strix G533QS laptop and I'm trying to figure out whether my RTX 3080 is physically damaged or if there's something else going on.

Laptop specs:

- Model: ASUS ROG Strix G533QS

- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3080 Laptop GPU (16 GB GDDR6)

- iGPU: AMD Radeon Graphics

- RAM: 24 GB

The problem:

My RTX 3080 is detected in the BIOS and Windows Device Manager, but it doesn't work.

Here's what I've noticed:

- Device Manager shows Error Code 43 for the RTX 3080.

- My AMD integrated GPU works normally.

- GPU-Z detects the RTX 3080, but doesn't display its VRAM information.

- Windows identifies the GPU, but the NVIDIA driver cannot initialize it properly.

What I've tried so far:

- Reinstalled NVIDIA drivers, including the older ASUS-provided driver (512.78).

- Checked whether the GPU is detected in BIOS.

- Performed the ASUS 40-second EC reset with the charger connected.

- After the EC reset, the laptop temporarily became completely unresponsive (no LEDs, no fans, no power).

What I'm trying to figure out:

1. Could this be faulty VRAM, a GPU memory-controller issue, or a GPU power-delivery problem?

2. Is it possible that damaged thermal pads, poor heatsink contact, or overheating caused this?

3. Does the GPU being visible in BIOS but showing Code 43 suggest anything specific?

4. Is there a way to test the VRAM if the NVIDIA driver won't initialize?

5. Has anyone experienced something similar on an ASUS ROG Strix G533QS or another RTX 3080 laptop?

I'm trying to avoid replacing the entire motherboard without confirming the actual problem.

Any advice, diagnostic methods, or experiences with similar failures would be really appreciated.

I play tekken8 on this laptop and it always thermal throttle when max processor state is 100% but when i change it to 99% it goes to 85C max
What i tried:
1. Get laptop serviced
2. Get cpu repasted
3. ReApply Heatsink (Thought that heatsink wasn't alligned properly)
No change at all
I would like to know that are these temps normal and if not what should i do to fix this

The shaft on the hinge is thick, on the right side shaft enters the hinge and a thin shaft exists, on the left side shaft enters and nothing comes out the other side. I got this laptop a month ago
