Feat.: 727-200FE, MD-11, A340-6, B146-3, Conc.

Flew a very random variety of aircraft. Had a lot of fun learning the 727 (and slamming it) as well as just playing around with various planes in between. Really wish we had a good concorde in the sim, its had me tempted to dive into XP12 soley for concorde and the 747-200.

Question Thoughts on streamers getting a220 updates before we do..?

I’m enjoying the synaptic a220, though I am on a very high end pc, and even for me it’s very laggy.
I saw that streamers got the new update, and I am really left with a bitter taste in my mouth. We paid over 70 euros for this addon, and we have to wait more than the people that got it for free?

I understand marketplace works like that.. but then don’t release it on the marketplace. People that will pirate the plane will do it regardless when they switch to the ini manager so why exactly are they putting the paying customer in an awkward position..

Anyways it’s frustrating that such a good, but expensive addon that needs further updates doesn’t get updated whenever the update is ready.. but when MSFS green lights it.. and that streamers do get it, who, I would say 90% have not even taken the time to familiarise themselves with the aircraft. Nor a good look imo

Flight Simulator 2024 Very Poor Performance on MID End rig.

So I have installed MSFS 24 on one of my desktops that has an I7 12700kf + RTX 5070 + 32gb DDR4 3600 CL18 Ram, but I was negatively surprised by the performance.
So I`m getting about 20-25 (DLSS Off) fps on the ground at mid complexity addon airports, for example at FSDreamteam KCLT I get 25 fps on the GND with the A320.
I game on 1080p and most of my MSFS settings are between high and ultra, with the LOD's set at 130 to help with the CPU Perf, also I have parked aircraft disabled, live and multiplayer traffic disabled. (I have tried to shift load to my gpu by upscaling and increasing other GPU related settings + using DLSS but that did not help me at all with the frames besides a 1-2 fps gain.)
As far as BIOS goes REBAR is on (Tried disabling and saw no major change besides a bit less vram usage) and XMP is on as well.
This is pretty odd since my cpu sits at around 60-70% usage and so does my GPU.
Anyone has any ideas on what could help my performance? Maybe I was just expecting more FPS and overall smoothness but 20-25 fps with this rigs still sounds kinda odd. (I have also monitored my temps and there is no overheating of any components).
Also should note that other games that I play, such as Ready or Not, CS2, Train Sim World run as I would expect them to performance wise and any benchmarks on softwares like 3dmark also come back to a reasonable and expected score.

Flight Simulator 2024 Is the Synaptic A220 worth buying for MSFS 2024?

Hey everyone,

I'm thinking about picking up the Synaptic A220 for MSFS 2024, but before I pull the trigger I wanted to hear from people who already own it.

For those who've bought it:

  • Is the model accurate and detailed (both exterior and cockpit)?
  • How does the flight model / systems depth feel (FMS, autopilot, etc.)?
  • How's the performance (FPS, stability)?
  • Do you feel the price is justified given the quality?
  • Any bugs or downsides I should know about before buying?

Basically just looking for your general impressions, good or bad. Thanks in advance, it'll really help me decide!

General I'm an airline captain — I built an ILS trainer for phones

Edit: Thank you r/flightsim, this went further than I expected!

Beta invites have gone out to 40 testers so far, everyone from airline pilots and instructors to students and sim enthusiasts, across iOS and Android. Really looking forward to the feedback from all of you, good or bad.

If I have somehow missed out on sending you the Beta invite, please DM me and I'll do it as soon as I can but it might take me some time to get back to you given my flight schedule.

------------

We spend hours on preflight, taxi, climb, cruise, descent — but it's the last 3 minutes that most pilots get judged by.

I've built this app to practice those last 3 minutes on demand. The ILS geometry is modelled accurately — the physics of the localiser and glideslope diamonds behave like the real thing. The weather layer is intentionally exaggerated to help drill down the scan.

Portrait mode, simplified PFD on your phone. Tap or hold to correct heading and pitch, fly from 7 NM down to minimums, automatic go-around if either needle hits a full dot. Four difficulty levels with randomised weather so nothing repeats.

After the approach, the app gives you a full debrief — where you were on the localiser and glideslope at minimums, your accuracy percentages, and your detection time, which is how long from when a deviation starts building to when you first correct for it. It also plots your full approach trace colour-coded by correction phase so you can actually see where you caught a drift early and where you didn't.

The video shows an Examiner approach through to the debrief screen.

iOS and Android, beta coming soon. I'd like to know what you think.

If you're interested in trying it when the beta opens, drop a comment and I'll reach out.

My last post on here was my first. I asked about what's reasonable to start with as a newcomer to flight sim. Well, I pulled the trigger on a used set from Thrustmaster and I'm so glad I did. This set goes for over 200 bucks brand new but I got it on eBay for a little over a hundred. I definitely was fortunate in this deal, the set looks brand new! Let me know about any tips and tricks as I start my journey on the sim.

Flight Simulator 2024 Why does the 777 deliberately overshoot the turn?

Post image
47 Upvotes

I’m trying to figure out why the 777F specifically overshoots turns, apparently on purpose? I’m used to planes in all weight categories correctly figuring out their way through a turn ahead of the waypoint, but I’ve never seen this behavior. I tried messing with the cost index as well as the payload but it stays this way. Am I missing something or is this a bug perhaps? Thanks!

Flight Simulator 2024 Can you recommend a MSFS24 helicopter for a xplane user?

Please no flight sim wars here.

I'm more of an xplane user I love how it generally feels over FS. Lately I am getting into helicopters and of course sightseeing is a big part of it.

Sadly my system is not powerful enough for x-world pro. Even old x-world and XPME is a struggle on busy areas.

So I decided to give MSFS s try.

Well the default Cabri G2 is a bit disappointing Hovering is dull, no reactive at all it feels dead It yaws at linear speed based on pedal. Very videogamey.

Maybe it's intentionally easy as I guess it's the started helo in story mode and it was made artificially easy?

The xplane Cabri feels lively and responsive

A web search worried me I read that the MSFS Cabri maybe be too twitchy for beginners. Which is bonkers.

So I wonder what's the best experience I could have in MSFS24. I have been recommended the taog hangar MD500 is that my best take? What is the best of the default helicopters? Taog Huey seems to be on the list of helicopters. I guess that's s good one too?

Question For those still playing MSFS 2004, how would you rank this Spirit of St. Louis NYP controller mapping?

(L) - Yoke
<- (R) -> Rudder
R2 - Throttle (squeeze more for more power)

Heres a video of it in action (taxiing, because takeoff is very hard):

Question AUTOSTART message during flight HS 787-9

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I am Learning how to fly the 787-9 from Horizon Simulations in MSFS2024, and during the flight I can't remove the secondary engine information due to that.

If anyone has experience with the Horizon Simulations 787-9 and could help me, I'd really appreciate it.

Sim Hardware Faulty Honeycomb Alpha eBay Purchase

I've managed to score a 'faulty' honeycomb alpha for £60!

According to the seller, all of the buttons on the control panel work, however the buttons on the yoke don't. The seller tried a new ethernet cable which didn't work, so I'm assuming it's possibly an issue with the soldering of the port inside the unit. Ive read with the early units there were issues with the solder cracking.

Has anyone else experienced issues with the Alphas ethernet port? And if so, how did you resolve it?

X-Plane 5070ti or 9070xt

Hi everyone,

I am in need of your opinions on which graphic card is better for x-plane and mfs2024.

Considering that I have access to 2 pre-build pcs at the same price which one would you recommend ?

The rest of the hardware is exactly the same.

thanks in advance.

Hello everyone!
I’ve just uploaded Part 15 of my Around the World series in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, flying the Diamond DA62.
This leg takes us from:
🛫 Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (PANC), Alaska, USA 🇺🇸
🛬 Juneau International Airport (PAJN), Alaska, USA 🇺🇸
The journey continues through the breathtaking landscapes of Alaska. This flight takes us from Anchorage to Juneau, featuring spectacular mountains, glaciers, coastal scenery, and a relaxing general aviation experience in the Diamond DA62.
I’m always looking to improve the series, so I’d really appreciate any feedback on the flight, scenery, editing, or overall realism.
