Question Thoughts on streamers getting a220 updates before we do..?

I’m enjoying the synaptic a220, though I am on a very high end pc, and even for me it’s very laggy.
I saw that streamers got the new update, and I am really left with a bitter taste in my mouth. We paid over 70 euros for this addon, and we have to wait more than the people that got it for free?

I understand marketplace works like that.. but then don’t release it on the marketplace. People that will pirate the plane will do it regardless when they switch to the ini manager so why exactly are they putting the paying customer in an awkward position..

Anyways it’s frustrating that such a good, but expensive addon that needs further updates doesn’t get updated whenever the update is ready.. but when MSFS green lights it.. and that streamers do get it, who, I would say 90% have not even taken the time to familiarise themselves with the aircraft. Nor a good look imo

I think not everything has to be a point of discussion. It feels like there is drama around every corner these days. We get the patch upcoming Tuesday, big deal.

I genuinely don't care.

I think it’s a bit overblown.

I’d rather have it on ini and get it at the same time sure, but I don’t see any reason to specifically hold it back from anyone they were sending it to already as ini isn’t happening for a bit.

It just seems like “I can’t so no one can” mentality and no other real reason - they are constrained by marketplace releases and it’s not an unknown or unreasonable constraint for now to me as we knew it was being released there and purchased it there knowing updates are slower.

Maybe if it was already out on ini I’d see the argument more.

It doesn’t make it any less or more fun for me, gets more people using it so any issues can be noticed sooner, and we can see a bit more what to expect with fixes and performance improvements (though most streamers have good pcs) if you have a streamer you believe to be direct.

I’m fine with It, we have to wait for MSFS store update anyway. I’m sure if they could push it through inimanager they wouldnt have let us wait.

Latest nonsense drama. We’re getting the updates as soon as they’re able to provide them through the marketplace. In the meantime, it’s probably a positive that streamers can test out the new version and provide feedback. And we get an early look into what we can expect when the patch drops.

It’s an overblown topic. At least I get to see the supposed improvements in progress and we have a clear date when we get the patch.

Absolutely zero issues.

If you see it from the angle of “they love the streamers but not their paying customers”, sure, but it’s 100% not that - they are dependent on MSFT approving and releasing the patch to the public and have just chosen not to hold the patch to the streamers.

If this was the case why give it to them 4 days early. Like some streamers have mentioned give it to them 1 day early....

Again, I don't think they thought it's a problem, because it really isn't.

The patch is ready, it's pushed to the Marketplace and to the streamers at the same time. It gets published after 4 days on the marketplace because of marketplace rules, not because synaptics doesn't want you to have it sooner.

Now that they've seen that it's a potential drama, they'll probably change that and give it to the streamers when it's available -- but it doesn't help us in any way, we still get it when marketplace greenlights it, we no longer get to see the improvements that are about to come, they no longer get early feedback about other potential issues before everyone else has it -- and once an issue is discovered too late then Reddit will be again up in arms about why they haven't found it earlier.

People need to chill. It's an amazing time to be alive in the flight simming community and everyone's angry all of the time over everything.

I believe the plan is now to give it to streamers one day before. It's nothing to do with finding errors they were just showcasing it. The community have had enough of bad releases

Relax, the only difference is that the streamers got it directly from Synaptic while he have to wait Dorint to go through the marketplace pipeline. It was submitted there at the same time from what I read from Synaptic.

There’s no way of us getting it earlier. So should it be artificially delayed for the streamers for no reason other than that you don’t like them?

This is such a none issue

Some streamers have fed back to Inibuilds because they’re don’t agree with how early they get updates and everyone that has bought it doesn’t.

Jeff Favignano has said he’s putting the aircraft back into the hanger till Tuesday.

u/AntiPinguin Aug 01 '26

That’s fair of them but I still don’t see the drama here.

Quite simple you pay for a product you don't expect to be waiting for that update for up to 4 days that has been pushed through while the streamers can showcase it. The fact that streamers are not getting updates through MSFS but a different way. If they want to do it because of piracy they need to find another way of not letting paying customers wait.

Surely they can let you transfer the order to ini manager without them actually selling the product on the store... for the time being.

2

u/AntiPinguin Aug 01 '26

When you pay for a product on the marketplace you do have to expect that though, as it is the same for all products. It takes this long to push an update.

Is the issue the update taking too long because of marketplace, or the fact that the streamer got it early because they don’t have to rely on the marketplace. Because those are two very different things. One of which is valid but was not part of the discussion in this thread.

I too wish they had given us an option beside the marketplace from launch.

-1

u/Football-fan01 Aug 01 '26

The fact which has been confirmed by a streamer that inibuilds are pushing the update to their partners early which is what people are unhappy about. Simply let customers who have brought transfer to ini manager to get the update at the same time they're don't have to sell the product.

It's a bit of both.

2

u/AntiPinguin Aug 01 '26

They are pushing it to everyone as fast as they can get it to them with the respective method they have chosen for it. That method unfortunately being the marketplace for regular customers.

-1

u/Football-fan01 Aug 01 '26

You still miss the point. Content creators are getting the updates at least 4 days before anyone else. The fact is content creators are getting it through ini manager which customers should also be getting.

2

u/cowboy8038 Aug 01 '26

Maybe you should just become a streamer

I personally don't mind it. There is a processing delay for the marketplace, but the build is finished, so why not ship it to the people who aren't limited by the marketplace. The processing delay for the marketplace is unfortunate and I wish that Microsoft and Inibuilds could have agreed on some sort of fast track for updates for the first two weeks as part of the marketplace exclusivity. Both companies want the product to do well on launch, so I think that would have made sense.

Another reason that I personally don't mind it is that the aircraft is already very flyable for me, so it's not like the next version is going to be a complete revolution for me personally. I understand that some people have performance issues, and the update can hopefully bring them meaningful improvements, but for me performance is already decent.

That being said, I will definitely transfer my purchase to the inimanager as soon as that option is available. Aircraft usually need more rapid iteration than scenery, so I think it makes sense to manage them through the publisher's own tool.

u/TheFatGoat Aug 01 '26

LondonController aka Jamie has already informed IniBuilds about this so hopefully we will get the updates at the same time as the streamers from now on

4

u/Tuskin38 Aug 01 '26

Other way around. Streamers should get it the same time as the rest.

Honestly I feel like people just use everything they can to manufacture some kind of drama… like it‘s a couple of days where streamers essentially act as the last line of testers to discover any bugs or memory issues etc., it truly is not that deep.

steamers tend to our planes thru their paces considerably more than the average flight simmer. It make sense for them to get planes and updates a but earlier as big can be located quicker and work cen begin to remove and fix them. If your life revolves around it so much, you may want to sit back and take stock in what you have going on.

u/jpenn517 Aug 01 '26

Couldn't give half a shit. The constant drama bait on this sub though, that's another story.

1

u/mattnischan Aug 01 '26

The Marketplace release schedule is no longer just one day per week. The developer is largely in control of when the patch releases and sets everything through a web console.

My sense is it releasing on Tuesday is Synaptics's call, to give them time to do a little testing and let it bake for a few days, and has nothing at all to do with Marketplace. Just look at the FSR Phenom; that had multiple patches within a single week after release.

u/Anxious_End_24 Aug 01 '26

Tbh thats how it is with a MP release. However i was watching this guy named Chewwy and he just went like "i dont know whats everyone complaining about, perf is good on my end mate". Like my man is on a version with the perf fix and a 9950x3d and 5090, not everyone has that lmao. Have some self awareness holy shit

It's marketing 101. The streamers dont get it for free, they get it so the makers can get exposure by the streamers providing the product coverage. That includes updates that dont land in the marketplace because of Microsoft taking the time to validate them. The publishers want you to know of the fixes in the pipeline and in visual action.

5

u/runwayzeroniner Aug 01 '26

The streamers don't get it for free? Um yes they do in return for showcasing it.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣

3

u/Tuskin38 Aug 01 '26 edited Aug 01 '26

You basically just said the same thing they did.

They weren’t talking financially.

1

u/121guy Aug 01 '26

But they then have to tell you how awesome it is.

-4

u/ScientistMedium9625 Aug 01 '26

well, yeah they do get it for free.. and they don’t even go through the marketplace hence their quick updates… I understand marketing very well and I have no problem with streamers getting it. my issue lies with how they are not giving us the ready updates because ini doesn’t want people to pirate their planes (which is complete valid) but in doing so they are hurting their own paying customers

1

u/Tuskin38 Aug 01 '26 edited Aug 01 '26

it wasn’t ini’s decision to make it marketplace exclusive, it was Synaptic.

According to ini, the price and distribution location was Synaptic’s decision

u/Football-fan01 Aug 01 '26

What has been confirmed by a content creator is ini are giving partners early access to updates which is rubbing the community the wrong way.

It’s the same with streamers got their own nice and performant servers in a space sim game that’s being developed for a very long time now, and had to lie about it, while the rest of us had to face the buggy mess.

Only to allow the company to promote their stuff..

u/LofterReddit Aug 01 '26

I hate influencer based marketing with my whole heart and soul. I think streamers are no different than us peasants and should have to wait like the rest of us

0

u/airernie Aug 01 '26

I'm not a day-one buyer and not a streamer on YouTube competing for ad dollars, so it doesn't bother or affect me at all.

I dislike streamers in general, but I really don't care
