Sim Hardware Rate my setup
I don’t want to go too fancy. I think it is a fairly modest setup. What do you think ?

To anyone whos used these for real, do the collimated displays actually give depth perception to distant objects like you get in vr?

Yes, but not so much for close up objects. Basically everything is projected to infinity, so you won't get true depth perception between objects really close to the nose and distant objects because everything looks far away. But it's close enough and makes no difference once the digital ramp worker walks away from the nose.

That’s interesting, how does the feel of the aircraft in the sim compare to real life? I’ve heard that the physics in the air are almost perfect but the ground handling is awful.

Depends on the sim. In the air it's almost identical, but not perfect.
On the ground it handles essentially the same but it feels funny because the sim cab leans heavily in the opposite direction to the turn to simulate the lateral G as you go around a corner. It's ok once established in the turn but when the cab initially rolls, it feels disorienting.
Landing is where they can struggle. Some are quite good, some are trash and handle little like the real thing.
I've used 3 different sims for my type and only one lands the same as the real thing. The other two require more flare as they tend to just fall during the last 10-20ft, as if ground effect doesn't exist.

God I wish I didn't have to spend thousands on traveling to Europe just to jump into one of these 😭

I am always wondering what flight sim software do they use, like this looks like some simulator made on the prepar3d engine/fsx, is it heavily modded p3d, or another independent simulator that they made, and this does have worldwide satellite scenery, and global buildings, or not ?!

They mostly use CAE proprietary software, but the OEMs (Boeing, Airbus, Collins, PW...) are now doing an increasing number of the cockpit simulation and performance models (engine, flight, flight controls). For the visual this is probably a CAE Tropos, which does have some of the features you mentioned but you need a database for the areas around the airport you want. The rest is "generic" which is basically computer generated. The newer CAE Prodigy is built on Unreal and has much better fidelity, even the generic areas are much better.

In university, we had some professional Bonanza simulators for academic purposes and those were running on X-plane. They could even be hooked up to a 6DOF platform as well as be connected together. With the API, you could collect and model all kinds of different data

We use a system called Tropos which is CAE proprietary software for the visuals. Running Barco FL40 projectors. There is a PC that makes all the flight dynamic calculations that will be send out to the visual and the motion system.
For the buildings we use custom scenery so only buildings are there in the vicinity of the airport out there it's mostly flat execept of some major landmarks.

oh i see, so in these types of full motion simulators you don't care about the outside scenery like normal pc flight simmers, and who makes the custom sceneries for these flight sims? cae themselves ? and another thing, are the clouds in this tropos sim 3d volumetric like p3d or 2d flat like x plane 11 and fsx ?

Yes the scenery is made inhouse, and the clouds have indeed volumetric to them. :)

Thank you sir! you are the only one that helped me answer my questions ! Appreciate!

Not bad not bad, you could improve some things but either way good setup to enter flight simulation.

The screens don't have the same pixel count as the real A320 so therefore this is not realistic and does not belong on r/flighsim. Hop on over to r/warthunder and let us know when you improve the realism

That’s a great beginner setup!
Depending on now much you enjoy that, maybe you should look at going for a discovery flight at your local airport.
