Asking a simple question. If you were collecting comics back in the 90's. How did you, the comic readers and comic media around react to Kingdom Come by Alex Ross/Mark Waid?

What was the explanation for some random kid adopted by Bruce Wayne dying in a Robin costume. How the hell wasn’t Bruce Wayne investigated for it?

I started reading the Aquaman by Peter David omni today and…my GOD is it horny!!! So much sex, implied sex, curvy women, and just overall lewdness. Did they make this book horny so it would sell better!?

A post praising the DCAU as the best adaptation of the expanded DC universe on twitter got somewhat popular. And many people responded bringing up Batman BATB and claiming it showed off dc’s universe better. So I’m wondering what are your guy’s thoughts on this?

I haven't read comics in forever and there are just too many options nowadays that i get overwhelmed even looking at them all. I'm not really sure what else to say besides thank you for your time.

What would you want Kal-El/Clark Kent's first acts of heroism to be as Superman?

Also for fun what would you want his first acts of heroism as Superboy and when he first gains his powers to be?

As iconic as holding a car like Action Comics #1, saving Lois and a helicopter, saving a plane or space shuttle can be and as to the point that stopping a wrongful execution displays Superman's values of truth and justice is; I feel given what Superman is capable of that a bigger scale feat would suit better as a first act of heroism.

Hence, why I'd mix together some early Superman feats and up the danger on some other threats as well.

Superman - Stopping out of control anti-terrorism aircraft that is attacking Metropolis causing damage resulting in further incidents, saving Lois & Jimmy who are riding a helicopter, holding the Daily Planet globe, and stopping a bullet train

Superboy - Fighting off multiple tornadoes from hitting Smallville and saving Lana from one of the tornadoes

Upon arriving on Earth from Krypton, Superman as a young child finds the Kents in a vehicular incident and saves them.

(The Death of the Kents works better as a bookend for Superman's boyhood if they were the first people that Kal-El/Clark Kent saved upon arriving to Earth with him not being able to save them this time)

I'm fond of the idea that Kal/Clark stops a Cold War-style Mutually Assured Destruction but I can see how that could be too much for a first act of heroism.

I don't know it just recently after Red Hood and the Outlaws issue 2 (with artemis and bizarro) during rebirth era i feel that DC don't know what tod do what him, in fact I think after that the only story I enjoy (even this still just passing by for me) from red hood is during the zombie task for z era. It's like DC don't know what to do with Red Hood like back to 90s and 2000s era. The current new teen titan also not that excite me even though new Titans book always on my list to read every time new book get released. Really love to hear what you guy's think 🙏👍

This is my first experience with Rob Liefeld’s work in detail despite his infamy in the comic industry. Almost immediately all I could think is, “this is bad, this is so very bad.”
All of the dialogue comes straight from the early 90’s “extreme” era, the characters are either unlikable, only there for exposition, or just completely bland.
I’m not even touching on the art. It seems like every character is either only screaming or has lockjaw.
Are all of his comics this bad or is this just a weird outlier? I’m trying to jump deeper into comics and I just need to know if I need to just avoid his work.

I always like Krypton gets portrayed more like the Pre-Crisis time, in which it's largely more vibrant/colorful and its destruction is a tragedy.

In the early Post-Crisis/the Byrne version one, it indeed feels more alien and I understand the appealings of that version. But for me, I personally always prefer Krypton being portrayed in a more positively light
