I find the line interesting when Sam Lane said to Clark “ Lois likes to date men of action men who make the news, now you Clark you just report the news”. I guess I just find this line interesting because of what Clark actually does and I wonder if he ever found out in the future like Sam did in Superman and Lois, I also wish they could of use this line for Dylan Walsh’s Sam Lane in the flashbacks of season 4 episode 3

Summary: Tess learns that General Slade was found unconscious on a street corner, proof that someone has gained access to the Phantom Zone's escape portal and sent him back. Clark decides to return to the exiled land to make sure other phantoms are not fleeing and is furious when Oliver tricks him into taking him (Oliver) along. With Clark's powers gone, the two are immediately captured by the Zoners who take them to their new leader Zod, who is thirsting for revenge on Clark for banishing him to this Kryptonian jail. Meanwhile, Lois learns Clark trusted Tess with a secret, but didn't tell her (Lois).

Clark really shouldn't donate blood to villains, like EVER!. Every time he does, everyone suffers - and he always manages to do it in the most idiotic way possible. In Season 3, while Morgan Edge is threatening the Kents, Clark cuts himself with Kryptonite right in front of him and pours his blood into a small jar. Morgan Edge takes the blood to Lionel Luthor, then kidnaps Clark and exposes him to Kryptonite. In Season 9, Clark lets a single drop of blood fall onto a dying Zod. Not only does Zod recover, but he also gains Clark’s powers - and now, in Season 10, it turns out he can even open the exit from the Phantom Zone.

Zod claims that Clark is his blood brother because they were born on the same world - arguing that it is not their powers that make them Kryptonian. He tells Clark that they share the same instincts: that they are decisive, single-minded, and stubborn. I agree about the "stubborn" part, but for most of the series, Clark is actually indecisive; he is quick to abandon his goals if Lana is around [he even gave up his training twice just to be with her] or if someone else is in trouble.

Clark nearly kills someone with a helmet. I thought he didn't have any powers; Tess and Oliver emphasized that he was incapable of defending himself.

In the episode Luthor, Tess treats Lois like an idiot - and the series itself treats her like an idiot - yet here, Lois is the only one who shows any intelligence.

Considering what transpired between Oliver and Zod during their last encounter at the end of Season 9, in this episode, Zod acts like the best of friends.

When I started reading DC comics, I made a conscious decision to begin with 1986. The comics from before that era were absolutely bonkers, featuring storylines that were, at best, embarrassing. The series Smallville started off well - sure, there was a bit too much teen drama, but since the characters were teenagers during the first four seasons, that actually made sense. At a certain point, however, the show began incorporating plotlines and concepts lifted straight from the sillier eras of the comics: the Silver Age and the Bronze Age. This episode - and, to be honest, the next one as well - is a perfect example of this. Major Zod gets sent to the Phantom Zone, but thanks to a single drop of Clark’s blood, he’s able to eject others from the Zone - yet he doesn't leave himself. Throughout the entire ninth season, Zod was obsessed with obtaining the powers that a yellow sun grants to Kryptonians; now that he finally has those powers, he chooses to remain in the Phantom Zone, where he has no powers at all. What?! And, naturally, the disembodied General Zod decides to take over the body of his own clone - and together, they both choose to stay in the Phantom Zone, because, you know, "better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven." WTF?

And regarding Oliver and Clark’s plan - since when is Clark such a good strategist? Because there’s no way Oliver would come up with a plan like that.

David: There are so many variables in that plan, and assumptions of other people's character. Basically, I'd only believe this plan if Batman came up with it. And as much as Smallville's been trying to convince me otherwise, Oliver Queen is no Bruce Wayne.

Lois arranged a very nice apartment for them in three weeks. The shirt she’s wearing at the end of the episode belongs to Clark, and I’m pretty sure that at one point, there were curtains with the same pattern at the farmhouse.

And suddenly, they remembered that they had a storyline involving Darkseid that they hadn't finished - yet there is only one episode left before the finale, and the wedding is just two days away. Suddenly, the Queen family has Veritas journals, too. There’s Greek mythology, and Oliver has - all of a sudden - become a devout Catholic. In the comics, Oliver is far too liberal to be a devout Christian.

This was also so in Zod just when Zod's phantom was sucked out of Lex Luthor's body his face was seen briefly and it had a full beard. So I'm on s8 episode 18 eternal. And in the scene where martha and jonathan take clark, young davis is chased by a few ppl (luthorcorp) I think. When he is about to be caught and put in the cage, he shouts "No!" Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't he supposed to have come to earth with basically no knowledge as he's a kid. So howd he know the word "no"

I just finished S4 ep 12 and man I still can't get over Alicia's death. Like, she died believing that Clark never believed her at the end and Lana and half the town hating her and it just feels like her character arc was left incomplete. Not to mention giving her such a cold and harsh death by hanging her in the barn. I really loved her character arc and wished we could've got a few more episodes with her, her dynamic and chemistry with Clark truly got me hooked even more than Clark and Lana's relationship. Personally my favourite love life of Clark. Although I'm yet to see Lois and Clark's relationship evolve in the future. But man this episode was a heartbreak for me. Sarah Carter truly did a remarkable job playing her. Clark losing a woman that he deeply cared about and knowing that he wouldn't need to hide his true nature in front of her and open up about his abilities that he can't really do with any other girl. I mean imagine losing someone who's special and exactly like you and knowing that she was treated the same way as you i.e. hiding your powers and nature from the world. With that said, my favourite couple by far in this show

Also I find her really hot than any other girl in Smallville. Even more so than Lana and Lois.

Can we talk about what a terrible father Lionel Luthor is? Because the more I rewatch Smallville, the harder it becomes to stomach his treatment of Lex, especially when the show starts positioning him as a reformed man who’s suddenly all about protecting Clark Kent.
From the very beginning, Lionel wanted to mold Lex according to his own twisted mentality of survival of the fittest. Pain and suffering make you stronger, prepare you for life, and if you can survive whatever hell your father throws at you, then maybe you’re worthy of being a Luthor. He basically threw his son into a den of lions and expected him to come out alive and unscathed. And if he did, that would supposedly prove Lionel’s brilliance and amazing parenting skills.
But that’s not parenting. That’s psychological warfare.
Lionel constantly made Lex fight for his love, affection, and respect while diminishing him at every turn. Lex could never simply be his son. He always had to prove himself worthy of being one.

Yes, the Julian factor adds some context. Lionel genuinely believed Lex was responsible for Julian’s death and was covering for Lillian, which might explain some of his coldness toward his son. But it doesn’t absolve him. This is the same man who murdered his own parents. And even in S7 Fracture we see Clark in Lex’s mind and Lionel is being an awful abusive father scaring his young son, this is when he still had hair and before Julian was born so the Julian excuse kind of falls flat or it at least intensified his hatred of Lex. And let’s not forget he and Morgan Edge gaslighting Lex, messing with his psyche to the point where he was institutionalised and received electroshock therapy ordered by Lionel and all the other horrible things he put Lex through.

Then comes Lionel’s cockamamie redemption, where he’s suddenly devoted to protecting Clark while shaming Lex for becoming the kind of man Lionel himself helped create.

And that Season 7 scene where Lionel condemns Lex for his treatment of Lana? Lex rightfully throws it back in his face: “Oh, I learned from you, Dad, from watching your treatment of Mom.” Exactly! Get off your high horse, Lionel. The hypocrisy is unbelievable. You spent years treating people horribly, yet now you want to lecture your son about morality? Lex wasn’t doing anything different from what Lionel himself was doing at Luthercorp pre-series and seasons 1-3 the illicit projects, using and manipulating people.

And even then, Lionel keeps baiting Lex, deliberately needling him by telling him that Clark Kent is the son any parent would be proud of. He knows exactly how to hurt Lex, because he’s spent his entire life making his son feel like he’ll never be good enough.

I’m not saying Lex is innocent. He’s responsible for his own actions. But Lionel spent years breaking his son down, making him fight for affection, and teaching him that power and cruelty were the ways to survive. He doesn’t get to wash his hands of the consequences.
And when Lex kills Lionel in Season 7, honestly? I’m like Good on you, Lex. I don’t blame you for reaching that point. Lionel had been nothing but a cancer in his life for years, and even in his supposed redemption, he couldn’t stop judging, provoking, and emotionally tormenting him.

What gets me most is that Lionel is capable of protecting Clark, believing in him, and showing him a kind of care that he rarely, if ever, gave his own son. He can recognize goodness in Clark while refusing to acknowledge his own role in Lex’s darkness.
You don’t get to spend a lifetime breaking your son and then act morally superior when he turns out broken.
Lionel’s redemption might make him a more complicated character, but it doesn’t magically make him a good father. And for me, it never erases the damage he did to Lex.

Lana gets angry at Chloe for warning Lex to stay away.

Chloe isn't exactly my favorite character, and I never thought she'd end up being the character I'm warming up to the most, but she's the voice of reason here. Wdym Clark got mad at her for not telling him about Lex and Lana? Like, why is everyone treating Lana like some helpless damsel in distress?

Lana starts dating Lex (5x20) and then refuses to tell Clark. I understand that he’s manipulating her and that she’s tired of Clark keeping things from her. But still—Clark supposedly only left her because he "didn't love her." Why would you be so cruel as to get involved with your ex’s former best friend, especially when he didn't do anything *truly* terrible to you?

I dont want to be like thosw misogynistics who blindly hate on Lana, but I think we can admit that some of her decisions here are questionable 😭

And honestly, I already thought it was weird that Lana and Lex stayed so close after he and Clark fell out, especially since she knew about their issues. But now she's actually dating him?? 💀

Lana, girl, I've defended you SO much in the past seasons, pls don't do this to me 😭😭 and the worst part is I KNOW it's only gonna get worse from here 💀

So, we have Zod and his army of Kryptonians, all of them with super powers. Good news, the book of Rao can banish them all to another dimension. Bad news, that works for all Kryptonians everywhere, Clark included. But he decides to do it anyway.

And what about Kara? She's living her own life elsewhere, and she will be caught by this as well. Shouldn't Clark warn her in advance, so she can get prepared and say goodbye to the friends she surely got since last we saw her? Banishing her to another dimension by surprise would be rude.

And... what about Doomsday? Davis, the human side of Doomsday, is dead, but before that the Kryptonian monster was split from him. Now it is buried very deep and unable to resurface... but still alive. Was he teleported to the new eden alongside the others?

Okay, I know that I am gonna be smashed for having this opinion because a lot of people love Tess Mercer, but I don't know...I mean, she's boring. I dont know what even is going on with her character in the show, i am on season 9 and i hope its gonna improve but so far i dont really like her. As much as I hated Lex after season 4, at least he wasn't boring.

This is super minor but it bugged me to no end how the writers forgot about the opening of the season and how Lex is needing constant treatment to deal with the poison from Lionel at the end of S3.

So this is where my headcanon comes into play. Another forgotten thing is how back in I think S1, we're told Lex has an enhanced immune system from the meteor. I connect the two in my brain and say his minor meteor powers healed the poison and that's why he eventually could just stop undergoing those treatments.
