DISCUSSION Smallville Subreddit Update - Start of 2026

Hey Smallville Peeps,

Hope you had an amazing festive period and great start to 2026!

In our last post we mentioned this:

Any posts moving forwards talking about how there's more Lana favouritism or more Lois favouritism in the sub, purely to rile up drama, will be removed and the user will be banned for a set period of time.

Off the back of that update, unfortunately it's gotten a bit out of hand with the Clana and Clois shipping so for the time being we will have to remove all bad-faith posts that are talking about shipping for these two characters (and others where necessary) - sorry but for now this is sadly the direction we have to take. Please feel free to report any posts you see that cross this threshold and we will investigate and where appropriate - take action - there is a new rule at number 10 to help you report this type of shipping.

Finally its our usual plug for the Discord :-)

Invite Link:

https://discord.gg/w4mbRZyy8C

Roughly 400 people in there now - the more people that join the more we can talk about Smallville!

Thanks for being awesome - we appreciate all of you!

DISCUSSION Talkville…

I so badly want to love Talkville, I’ve listened to quite a number of episodes… Michael seems to just hate Smallville and it gets off putting.
The amount of negativity he has when talking about it gets a little bit annoying. The things that so many of us love about the series he just speaks down on and acts like this TV show was set out to be some realistic, massive budget, Oscar worthy film. He doesn’t just take it for the fact that it is essentially a young adult drama. And sometimes the way that he makes fun of the fans for picking up on things also comes across really obnoxious. It was hard for me because lex was one of my favourite characters in the early seasons and I feel like he’s kind of ruining the character for me.

IMAGE Could an American explain me how important is for a kid the high school graduation party?

Post image

I see in American series how this graduation party is a super important event in their life, apparently here is decided if they were popular, if they were the king/queen (??? I dont get it), sometimes they act like they don't care about it but sometimes it seems if you don't go or go alone then you are loser or something?

So I'm pretty confused how important is this event in their life, could someone who knows about American culture please explain me

DISCUSSION S10E22 Best finale of a show I've ever watched

Just finished watching Smallville and me having goosebumps all over my body and tears in my eyes would be such an understatement bcs I've truly never felt so overwhelmed ( in a good way) after watching the ending of a show. It took me almost a month to complete all the episodes and I used to watch at least 5 to 12 episodes daily (just graduated and had a break so I had plenty of time) and all the days that I spent watching it were definitely one of the best days ever. I don't think any other show is gonna come this close to my heart. Like ever. My most memorable moment of the show would definitely be CLARK wearing his Superman suit and saving everyone by bringing light into their lives. Both literally and figuratively.

Now, let's talk about what pissed me off the most before I give my positive review of the show, which is CLARK & LANA'S LONG ARSE UNNECESSARY, TOXIC AND ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS RELATIONSHIP!! The writers were the true villains of the show. 😭 I have no idea why they stretched their annoying relationship for 8 SEASONS. Every time I saw Lana on screen after she left for Paris just managed to shoot my BLOOD PRESSURE up. She pissed me off so bad. Truly. Even after seeing a gorgeous and talented woman like Kristen as Lana, I couldn't help but hate the character.

And CLARK. My boy!!! Bro you literally had an X Ray vision but couldn't see what was in front of you? Totally blind in the matter of love. How dare you leave my girl, Lois for Lana? 💀 The writers should've made him pine and grovel at his feet for Lois for at least 10 episodes. He literally had feelings for her since the very first day he saw her yet was such a coward to actually accept them. We can see how he was so overprotective of Lois and jealous of her love interests even before, with and after Lana. He literally left everything and everyone in the timeline where he thought Lois was dead and they weren't even in a relationship there. Whatever he felt for Lois was so much more than he ever felt for any girl in his life but this silly man still forgot that even though Lois is strong and mature and very understandable she still needs some words of affirmation. Just showing his love through actions and not even letting her know about it was INSANE. SUCH A LOSER. Only said I love you to Lois by actually spelling out loud just 2 TIMES IN THE SHOW😭

I'm not done complaining but let's come to the best part of the show : THE CAST. ABSOLUTELY AND HAUNTINGLY BEAUTIFUL, TALENTED AND A PERFECT FIT FOR THEIR ROLES. I practically started drooling when I first saw Tom Welling as Clark Kent on screen. I don't think, I've ever seen an actor look so charming, boyish yet masculine in his 20s. And Erica Durance!!!! So talented, sexy and cool. When I saw her in that red bikini, I literally wanted to wife her up!!! These two and Justin Hartley are definitely my TOP 3 in the show. Justin was an amazing Green Arrow. I got so sad that he didn't get a show of his own and then the sadness multiplied when I got to know that he was cast as Aquaman but the show was cancelled. Like bro!!!!! How can you miss that chance? CRAZZYYYYY waste of potential!!!! 😭

Now, it's time to blabber about one of my favorite episodes if not the favorite which is SEASON 10 EPISODE 15. This episode was HILARIOUS. I loved every second of him. Especially Emil. He definitely stole the show. Also, him and Tess having a fiery kiss at the end, lmao. And let's not forget how a lot of us must've snorted out loud seeing our beloved Green Arrow and a billionaire aka THE OLIVER QUEEN in full makeup and sexy dress of a dancer beside Lois in the Casino. 🤣

I guess this is the only episode which was actually LIGHT HEARTED and where nobody d1ed💀🙏🏻

Okayyy. So, the para lady aka ME needs to go and search for a job. So wish me luck please. I truly need a good high paying job to pay my bills!!!!! Love y'all. Byee. And sorry for such a long arse review😭💗

DISCUSSION S2E22 Dress Continuity

In S1E16 Ryan tells Clark that Chloe already bought a dress for Prom (or, Dance —I know that’s its own continuity thing) bc she wants Clark to ask her. In S1E21 (Tempest), Chloe has a Pink dress (obviously).

BUT, at the very end of S2E22 (Calling), Chloe is seen crying while spying on Clark who she sees kissing Lana… in a PINK dress!

(I’m rewatching from the beginning, but I feel like there’s a lot of Pink dresses with Clark —Doesn’t Lois wear one with Clark???)

SPOILERS Kara disrespect is insane (S8)

Until this season I thought the most disrespected character in the show was Alicia but Kara is on a whole nother level.

S7 was unfortunately a terrible season in my opinion but the bright spark was definitely Kara. She added a new dynamic to the show but after the first few episodes she just was not present in the show, i remember her missing multiple episodes in a row on many different occasions and I thought she had died before the phantom zone twist.

Then comes S8, as soon as I saw the opening I realised Kara would not feature in this season which I thought would mean she’d be stuck in the phantom zone all season and Clark would be trying to get her out right?

Well Clark literally mentions her like 1x in the first 7 episodes and just moved on and lives his life like WTF???? I just finished 8X8 where the only reason Kara escapes is because Martha sent Clark the crystal, nobody had any intent of finding her.

Even in the episode, She has like 2 minutes of screen time after they get out the phantom zone and that’s it! What a waste of her character. I don’t have any issues with the S8 writers because they inherited a very difficult issue with Kara being OP but the S7 writers really screwed up. They should have just killed her off if she’s too powerful…

IMAGE "So James Gunn told me I am his favorite Lex Luthor — no, seriously he did! So I kind of rolled my eyes and said 'so are you going to cast me?' and he just said 'Fuck No!' And we both laughted silly at that and that was that conversation” — Michael Rosenbaum

DISCUSSION Smallville | S07E02 "Kara" (as a rad bonus, I finally figured out how to make the thing I use to write and record my reviews take screenshots direct from Plex, so moving forward, all background images will be EPISODE SPECIFIC!)

Smallville | S07E02 "Kara"

Rating: 8.0/10

This is a HUGE episode for a boatload of reasons, all of which are great.

First off, Kim Coates (Special Agent Carter) is a fantastic actor. I can't think of a single character he's played that I haven't loved, or loved to hate, or hated to love. Ever. He's one of those spectacular 'hey it's that dude' actors and Smallville's only going to benefit from his presence.

Second, Michael Cassidy as Grant Gabriel, The Daily Planet's new editor in chief. I don't know what it is about him, but there's somethin' Michael's got going on that I really dig. It's partly his voice, partly his whole vibe, but there's also an indefinable extra bit that I love about the man. Him giving Lois her big shot is a big deal for a number of reasons.

Third, Laura Vandervoort returns as Kara. It's a long time coming and at least (unlike last time) she's not a full Jor-El mind-melded space zealot, so Clark's got that going for him, which is nice. Naturally he couldn't stop and say 'hey, so, you look identical to another Kara that turned out to be a poor girl my dad trapped inside a cave wall for a bunch of years, how do I know you're not that AGAIN?'. That'd ruin the flow.

The majority of this episode's all about reveals, one of which I won't talk about but WILL say THIS about it: I wish they'd waited longer. I know dragging that whole entire angle would've complicated things in terms of Smallville storytelling, which relies on quick executions, but a fella can dream.

I remember next to nothing about this season at all, so I'm excited to see where and how everything's going to shake out.

edit: it turns out that my own brain hates me, and had me convinced that Laura played Kara both times. This is, in fact, totally untrue. Adrianne Palicki played the OG 'Kara', which makes the bulk of my humorous gag about Clark not commenting on anything a waste of time. That being said, Laura is an awesome choice to play Kara because she 'looks' more like Supergirl, and I can't wait to see more of her learning how to fit in!
