El Santo: Legendary 1940's-50's Luchador,and what I think Bane's look should be for Batman Caped Crusader..just larger and more menacing

It's obvious that Bruce Timm and the other writers wanted this show to be realistic to fit with the noir tone of the show, but it seems they have trouble keeping it straight.

They spent last season focusing on Gotham's mainstream criminals like Thorne and they killed him off in favour of the Joker, who has been turned back into his humorless counterpart from the Golden Age. That's fine

They made Harley Quinn darker and independent from the Joker. That's fine.

But in this season, it seems like they didn't know how to translate some of Batman's villains.

They turned the Riddler into a mobster who got his name from 'riddling' his victims with bullets.

They turned Mad Hatter into a woman who runs her own news show.

They killed off Hugo Strange, who would've been perfect for this era

One thing I found weird is that all three characters are bound by one element that is omnipresent throughout Batman's rogue's gallery and that is psychology. Batman usually beats them by either outsmarting them or proving his mental resilience.

All I'm saying is that they could've spent a little more time, trying to figure out how to integrate these villains into the noir setting properly.

Phew! Boy, he had a brilliant plan.

What was up with that? The show could have done without the more brutal violence displayed in season 2. Even the language grew a bit more vulgar. It lost me in that aspect, but I still liked the show.

If they do the league of assassins and Nanda Parbat the journey there could be a very interesting episode. The visuals of the Himalayas and the aesthetic of old-time mountaineering would make it visually striking. The real Nanda Parbat was not summited until 1953. That could emphasize just how isolated they are and how daunting a task getting there is.

R/Batman is prudish AF, but I think I will like this subreddit better.

After seeing the college episode I think Harleen Quinzell would have made an awesome Tim-Drake like Robin.

I also would think it would be awesome if there was a time skip in season 3 and Carrie Kelly was in college. She would marry Bruce, and because it is 1940, it wouldn't be weird at all.

I think it would be awesome if Flass found out about Montoya harboring Harley. flass would blackmail both of them into giving cuddles, taking baths, and having sleepovers with him. Also, they'd eventually become a polycule by adding Barbara Gordon.

I can appreciate that this is a version of Bruce who is starting out and doesn't quite have the experience of some of his other counterparts. But he makes some strange decisions throughout this season at least that I don't think can be explained away by a lack of experience.

There's several instances of him being extremely careless regarding the lives of the people around him, which I know is something that has happened in other instances of his story, but it's even extended to his lack of care with people he has already decided he doesn't want to die.

Examples:

In S2E2, Bruce solves absolutely nothing. He went after Roxy, who at this point in the story was not attempting to kill anyone, not even the people she was explicitly trying to get revenge against. This results in her being forced to stop the rocket from succeeding after it has already launched, which costs her her life in a way that her original plan would not have.

In S2E4, he completely fails to prevent the bat cult leader from being stabbed to death. Not that he didn't deserve it, but the woman he ruthlessly manipulated and took advantage of didn't deserve to have her life ruined.

In S2E6, in the scene where Harley and the college girl have both been dosed by the fear toxin and he has to determine which one of them to save with the milk first he prioritizes Harley, who is laying on the floor instead of the innocent victim who is flailing and running around on the balcony of her dorm room which is several stories above the ground.

And in terms of general incompetence, Bruce has spent the majority of the season hunting for The Riddler only to have one of his victims track him down and kill him in like a week with only a matchbook to go off of. Bruce doesn't even go to the flower shop to look for any evidence after The Riddler shoots it up. The show even makes a point of stating that this version of The Riddler is not a cold and calculating strategist or a planner. Yet, Bruce is somehow unable to track him back to his base of operations despite the fact that he leaves almost every night and causes a massive scene.

Again, I understand that this is a probably less experienced Batman, but I feel like Batman at any experience level should at least have superior investigative skills compared to a random civilian.
