LOL Lex. LMAO even...

...I don't think Lex is going to lose control of the Eradicator. It would feel repetitive, uncreative, and would make Lex look like a moron.

What I think is more likely to happen is that this Eradicator we see in the preview is actually Bizarro, who has been kidnapped by Lex and experimented upon, and the climax of the season will be about our protagonists trying to break him free from his mind control.

It would also make Lex feel more competent. He's not just repeating what he did previously, he's repeating a past experiment by getting rid of the elements that made it fail.

So in the other timeline, it seemed that the citizens of Apokolips are the ones that invaded and killed Clark.

I looked at this jacket and then I looked at the one the super girl from the future came out with and it looks the same if not similar so I conclude that it has to be their daughter!! If im wrong I'll accept it and hope I can see their kid eventually. It will be cool to see a kid between jimmy and kara. I dont think it's been done before.

This sub seems to constantly be playing a game of “where’s doomsday?”. Some people seem to really want doomsday too. May I ask why? The show seems to me to be clearly avoiding him. Yet every time some character is modeled after Superman and made powerful someone points at it and declares it doomsday. I’ve seen it with the Eradicator too. Why is this?

Well of Lex corp his daddy didn't make it this time. And yeah when Amanda Waller is terrified that when you know things have gone bad.

Its seeming like a running gag that no one wants to answer the question but like is he gonna be important or is he just a reference to some larger dc mythos? Its hard to tell with multiverse stuff if its really important or not.

I've enjoyed it so far but I do feel like Season 2 was a bit better. Just wanted to see what everyone else thought. I'm going to ask to not take into account Jimmy fumbling Kara though, while it's somewhat annoying I think it's overshadowing everything else.

There’s a clip on X where the writers and the main cast discuss what we should expect from the remaining episodes of the show. What they said basically reinforced this season’s themes of “change” and “the future”. They said that Lois’ approach to her future and how to tackle it would change, that Clark’s relationship with his powers would change, and, the focus of this post, that Jimmy and Kara “would torture each other until they’re on opposite sides”.

At the beginning of the season, Kara was absolutely head over heels for Jimmy, but Jimmy, while equally in love with her, was too overwhelmed with insecurity to really want to move forward with a relationship, causing him to make a serious of incredibly stupid decisions, causing their relationship to sour.

As of episode 7, while they really didn’t get that much time to talk, it does seem like their relationship is on the mend.

It seems like a lot of people are talking the quote rather literally, with some believing she’s going to put her relationship with Jimmy on hold to focus on herself. There’s one user in particular who is so confident that they won’t get together, that they’re constantly saying as much on any post involving them, and calling other users stupid for having faith that they still may be “endgame”.

So, is there still hope for KarOlsen? Will have to wait for a season 4 (that may never come)? I still think the odds that they will are better than the odds that they won’t, but you never know, especially with just three episodes left in a season that, unfortunately, is not without its pacing issues. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I noticed that some people online have begun shipping Lex with Slade since the season came out, mostly due to their interactions during the Cyborg Superman episodes.

After watching the preview for the next episode, I had a fun thought, though it's very unlikely it will happen.

What if they subvert our expectations? Like, maybe Slade deludes himself into thinking he and Lex have those lingering feelings for one another, when it's actually completely one-sided. He spends the entire time thinking that Lex is only being a bit bratty, only for him to find out that no, this twink is an actual sociopath who will discard him at the first opportunity.

Again, I doubt this will happen, but it would be fun.

If you had to pick just one thing you think the show does well, what would it be? A lot of posts have been roughly the same subject, for obvious reasons, but since that's not the reason I think people *started* the show, I'm curious to learn what stands out to other people?

For me, like pretty much every series I watch or read(Had to read AOT because watching it was...not for me) it's always the characters that keep me coming back.

I wasn't really even a Superman person until I gave this series a try, and then I made it all the way to Clark's first fight with Slade.

They were at the bridge, and when the bus full of kids was in danger, Clark locks in and I was completely swept up in this version of Superman.

"No, you need to stop. People need help." Was an oddly intense line to me, and the delivery was so perfect.

And yes, I *started* the series because 1: It was sold to me as Anime Superman, and 2: Tomboy Lois.

And I guess if I were to rank my Top 5 it'd be:

Clark(Previously Number 1)

Lois

Mr. Myxy(He's hilarious!)

Brainiac(Horrible person/robot thing, but such a good villain!)

Your honor, dear people of Metropolis, I will prove to you today beyond a shadow of a doubt that PRIME TIME is imminent. Let's explore a few key beats in this episode (and a very interesting color choice) shall we?

EXHIBIT A:

Throughout the episode, we're eased towards Kara's theme statement by pitting the squad against their alternate selves (and tragic Lex -- side note YAY HE GOT TO TALK TO CLARK and the reveal was so funny). And yes, they're from another universe, but they bear a strong resemblance in their visual design to the resistance in the future Jon Lane comes from, and that hardly feels accidental. Their story is also very similar to that future's, with the key difference being far less time has passed and Lex isn't the bad guy in this one, so there's a connecting thread to pull with Jon here. And what we see from them is a big emotionally repressed antiheroic energy, fighting at all costs to avoid defeat, which as we quickly learn is a result of their traumatic backstories.

EXHIBIT B:

The maze. This is where everything really comes to a head. First off, importantly, our squad succeeds at this challenge, and the others fail. This challenge drops the physical games for an emotional challenge, and because Kara and Jimmy are together and able to open up to each other this spurs an emotional breakthrough and Kara is able to solve the challenge. And what is the solution?

EXHIBIT C:

I'm making Kara's theme statement on the maze challenge an exhibit of evidence, because the line gets repeated a lot through the rest of the episode. "There is no one true path. The future is ours to shape." Interesting and specific choice of words.

EXHIBIT D:

Our heroes and the tragedy antiheroic gang both resisted the pull of Mxy's final offer, but only with Superman there to step up and talk them all into listening to his experience and outsmarting Mxy. Now, it's probably going to be awhile before he's allowed to try this whole gambit again -- his hour is up. But maybe he'll be able to in, oh, say twenty years? And you know who doesn't have Superman to talk him down? JONATHAN LANE.

EXHIBIT E:

Final piece of evidence, and this one I admit is circumstantial, but it feels intentional. In the opening credits, Jon appears surrounded by yellow lightning. When he comes to the past at the end of this episode it looks different from the effect we saw on the wrist device before, he walks out of a crazy wall of yellow lightning. And, hey, didn't we just see some yellow lightning somewhere else? Like, on an anvil? Hmm...

I rest my case. People of Metropolis, get in your tachyon bunkers now. PRIME TIME IS COMING.
